Thank you!! These are eye-opening tricks for sure! I have a trick for making eyes look bright. Take your brightening shadow you use on the inner corners of your eyes, put a tiny amt on the tip of a foam shadow applicator or a narrow firm brush. Look straight into a mirror, and touch the shadow right at/just above the lash line where your pupil is most prominent. Do it very subtly, just a touch where it's almost not visible. To keep it subtle, you can mix whatever eyeshadow you have on your lid with a bit of white or frost.
I have deep set eyes and an winged eyeliner is impossible, so I never do a winged eyeliner. But, I have just started using a shimmery bronze bottom eyeliner you mentioned in another video and love it. I never thought I would like it so thanks for this tip but never thought of another color like plum and olive, but I will try . Thanks again for the video. Loved it!!
I started doing most of these last year (all except #4). I am older (65) and have hooded eyes. This helps so much. It took a while to be able to do the tight lining but it was worth sticking it out. I'll add tip #4 to my routine. Thanks!
I sure need to put all of these tips into practice. Tightlining is a scary thought... my hands are not always the steadiest... but, I guess the only way to learn is to practice, practice, practice! Thanks for sharing these tips!
I love the tight lining of the eye. It really does make a big difference. I am going to try all the other tips after I purchase your recommendations for you left for doing these tips. Thank you for sharing, Lisa!
Love these tips. I recently started tight lining the top and using a light inner liner on the bottom and it really does make my eye makeup look so much better. Thanks for sharing gonna try a baby wing and see how that goes
OMG! This morning I was looking at a few glittery eye pencils. I had no idea what I was going to do with them other than apply just above my top lashes ( but then the gorgeous glitter is hidden). Now I know to use them along the lower lashes! You're an angel Lisa. Thank you so, so much for sharing these awesome tips. I just love anything related to tutorials, 💞💞💗💗💞💞
Great tips, thank you! Tight lining makes a big difference! If I am in a hurry, sometimes I use the tip of my mascara wand and tap it into the top waterline to get the same effect. Works pretty well!
Agreed! And its usually waterpoof! Ive seen this done with a small liner brush too. Lining the brush with mascara. But I like the glob of product that most people wipe back into the tube. I use that to thicken the base of my lashes/smudge on my waterline but with the mascara wand
Tightlining is a MUST! I started tight lining about 5 years ago and, just as you said, it's amazing what it does for your eyes! I'm going to try the inner corner in the lighter color you mentioned. The shimmery, frosty look that you see, it's not anything for a natural look. I know that if I get that right, it will open up that area really well.
I recognized the Trish McEvoy Gel Liner pencil for your tight lining. I love that pencil! And I was on the fence about the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Pencil but that color looked so beautiful under your eyes. Thanks for the video, Lisa!
I LOVEEEE all these tips and techniques. I think I do them all (other than the shimmer under the eyes), I'll definitely have to start doing that. My problem is....I have 53 year old hooded eyes. I have SUCH A HARD TIME doing wing liner. I do exactly what you recommend AND I USE THE 208 to do it, but somehow I could never see the wing. Some say to go more straight up instead of an angle, some say totally perpendicular to the eye...I just can't get it right. Any suggestions to the more mature hooded eye? Also, I see some youtubers use brightening eye drops to make their eyes whiter & brighter. Thanks again for all your tips! You are so appreciated. 😍
I find the Tarte Double Duty Beauty easy on the eyes works well for tightlining, stays put. Sephora retractable waterproof eyeliner stays well too. I enjoy using different colors to tightline, blue makes the whites look whiter! Thanks for the tips, still haven't mastered the wing yet on my mature eyes😊
I do always tight line my upper lashes and you are so right about the difference it makes. It is hard to find a light color to go on the very inside of my eye, but I am working on it. I also love them CT pencil in bronze to underline my bottom lash. These were great tips! Thanks 😊
I agree, Lisa just responded to you and I would have thought that your comment about finding a light color to go on the very inside of eye could have very easily been responded to by Lisa giving you a recommendation. I watch these videos so that I at least have a fighting chance of finding the product that might work. So far, this is just a technique video with not much assistance in finding a product that might work. I hope her other videos are not like this. I am not that UA-cam proficient. My eyes were skimming her other videos and I selected the one on “organizing” her bathroom makeup. Either I’m doing something wrong or there are no comments and there is no description. No links to the Amazon makeup organizers. I’ve only seen this video and the one on organizing and I’m so disappointed in the description box lack of information on both videos.
Excited to try the tips but I struggle with #2 due to my eyelids starting to sag and having too much play in the skin (I’m in my mid-40s). I try to put the wing where I think it should go and it always looks wonky. 🥴
I would try looking into the mirror straight when you shape your liner (rather than pulling any skin or lids bc when you let go, the liner never lays how it should) you can always just focus liner on the very corners and see if that helps!
I do most of these myself. I’ve been doing the shimmer on my lower lash line with eyeshadow because I just loved how Jennifer Love Hewitt’s eyes looked on Ghost Whisperer. She often had a shimmery bronze color on her lid and lower lash line. I don’t tight line because every eyeliner I’ve used transfers to the water line. I love using a brightening liner so the transfer really aggravates me. I actually do like using white. I used to use the Rimmel nude, but it just wasn’t noticeable on me. It wasn’t bright on me at all.
@@glendan4593 I use the NYX epic liner pencil in white. it’s the best one I’ve tried so far. It lasts on the waterline. They have tons of colors. I don’t know why no one talks about them. I have a teal, blue, and an orange one as well.
I've been tightlining ever since you 1st showed it. It absolutely enhances the eyelashes, giving them a fuller look. I usually go in with a dark brown, plum, or navy. Love your trick for an easy, soft wing. It definitely opens the eyes. I so appreciate your guidance for making the eyes look bigger. 💗💗😊
I have very hooded eyes so I don’t wear eyeshadow because u can’t see it but I line my waterline on my upper lids and I love it Akers a huge difference!!!
There are several eye liners mentioned in the description but I’m not sure which one you picked to include in this are for which eye liner hack? I want to use the pencil you recommend in the right way. Please help. Thank you!
Yes!! 1000% agree on all these tips! Great video, Lisa 💗😊. I do them all except the wing. I have the BK beauty 208, so I will play around with that tip! I also love that you mentioned the olive shimmer liner for the lower lash line--I've been doing exactly that since discovering the NYX epic eyeliner in "all time olive". I have 2 in backup already--it is the perfect tone, with the perfect amount of shimmer! And sometimes I'll layer a slightly brighter shimmer olive eyeshadow on top of the liner to really make it pop.
My daughter showed me the tip about using dark kohl on the upper lash line (tight lining) and I LOVE it. I have tried the white/nude liner and the bottom and agreed it does look odd. I never thought of using a dark kohl as well for contrast. So will try that now. Thanks for the great tips. ❤️
Tnx for better explaining the inner corner highlight. I've been a bit on the fence about it. Now that you explained (and showed) I feel better about it. I thought you only kind "dotted" the corner? Didn't realize you go up a bit inside. Also, like it better not using the most glittery or shimmery one we have? I think that was what was really throwing me off? Just looked strange to me.
Thank you so much for doing this video!! I’m 43 and I never know the correct way to wear eyeliner. Things change so much as I age and I never want to age myself even more!!! Really enjoyed this video!!
Hi Lisa, Great tips but I have a quick question for you. What if you have heavy hooded eyes and in my mid 50's, do you still recommend a winged eyeliner as it seems to look odd on me. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you for your great videos, have a great day!
I’m not to make it virus but I do have a tip on helping your eye make up turn out a little better if you have hooded eyes. One of the things that you don’t want to do is arch your eyebrows do you want to relax your face so that you can see how much space you really have to deal with in the eye area versus opening it up to apply the make up and then realize that everything disappears when you relax.
I have a watery eye, whenever i put the liner on the upper inner lash line dragging it till the corner, after a few hours it smudges and appears on the inner corner of my eyes :(

I just bought the Wayne Goss eyeshadow palette after watching your review on it! I'm curious to see how you're liking it now and if you're still able to get consistent use out of it? Thank you!!
Apparently a Matt eyeshadow applied after the pencil with a good brush really sets it and stops transfer, I’ve yet to try this as I’m in hay fever season at the mo.
I find that when I tightline the top lash line it transfers to my bottom lash line - and makes my lighter inner rim liner on the bottom look ‘dirty’. Any clues on how I stop this?
@@leahvasquez2679 hmm. I have also used my waterproof mascara...ha not in the waterline! But just slightly in the lash line. With the tip of the wand. It saves time and money also.

Yes to me the waterline color has to be lighter than your natural eye otherwise just leave the eye alone. Tightline try waterproof.
which one you use ?
