I mean, in the end of the day the only one's gameplay you can improve directly is your own. It's why I love watching elite tbh, he manages to be both pretty entertaining but also explain a lot of the reasoning behind his gameplay, making me realize my mistakes and helping me improve.

The full vod of this game would be super entertaining to watch. That j4, zoe, naut, swain combo is aids. So hard to beat that with any comp tbh. Naut and swain peel makes it impossible to get to the zoe.
vlad struggles so much against bruiser/tank comps (ie this comp). even a riftmaker cosmic drive build doesn't make up for his short range, no cc, deficiencies. Imo, he only really shines against squishy comps since he can aoe nuke 80% of hp in one rotation, while being immune to their damage in one rotation with little counterplay. Whereas against bruisers, maybe he does 40% best case in one rotation, and once out of pool he, gets dpsed/cc'd/melted. the question is, what mid lane champs to to play against bruiser/tank comps if vlad struggles....thoughts?
I think a big issue here is the fact that Zoe is a hard matchup for Vlad. Additio ally Zoe in the hands of a good player is really strong late game too. So he was always 4-5 minutes behind a good power curve with a lane opponent who doesn't fall off. Additionally the enemy team got a ton of free cash throughout the game (it was a bit of a feeding frenzy). I think if you take away either of those factors this game becomes Vlad favored. I also don't think their cc bruiser comp with Zoe works outside of chall. The ability chains they were using are full of multi ability long range flash combos. Full bruiser comps need to share gold which means in the early late game hyper carries like Vlad tend to do well as you have a level lead and more items meaning you can out play them. Things only really fall apart when more than one or two of the bruisers can buy their mythic and both a defensive and offensive item
If he gets caught once it's over, no point in going MR boots to reduce the duration of CC or even for the defensive stats it gives. The whole game revolved around who one-shots who first, not to mention its high challenger gameplay, if a person's struck by CC once, everyone collapses instantly on him.

A huge portion of their cc is displacement and knockup (naut q, naut ult, j4 ult, aatrox w, q1, q2. q3, Swain passive). The only cc you'd reduce is Zoe sleep and Swain e snare. Even if the other CC's were snares/stuns that tenacity would effect, it wouldn't really change the outcome of the fights as vlad isn't nearly tanky enough to survive being CC'd for more than a couple seconds anyways. Add to that being the only strong member of your team losing offensive capability and it's a pretty bad buy all around.
Bigger question is why not opt for zhonyas?!?! He even acknowledges it would be hard to play fights without it but yet didn't go zhonya. Can any1 care to explan?
This was a severe case of "high ego player". Ezreal and Lee as well kept trying to force plays that could theoretically swing the game but because the enemy team simply wasn't bad it just kept going further and further downhill. At some point it just didn't matter anymore and they kept getting oneshot because they're like 3 levels down.

damn what a stressful game, I think this is one of the games where oblivion orb would've been a good buy for the late game teamfights since you identified that you have to engage by yourself and your team is doing poorly so they can't apply grievous wounds by themselves

reducing duration of CC isn't worth it.
Most of their cc were knockups which mercs don't work for. It also reduces his damage by a good margin with little to nothing to show for it.
