I’m also from Florida and love all that Gatorland kitsch. The last of the old Florida roadside attractions. No animatronics there, no long waiting lines and none of the exorbitant prices either. Well worth visiting. Fluffy is an insightful, sharp, and witty observer. And the best one at making us laugh at our own foibles!
I still love feedin the gators hotdogs 😊 1st time we went to FL I was 8 and my brother was 5 and my mom checked on me feeding one, turned around, and he’s squatting down with a gator that had a head 2x bigger than he was chillin in front of him just eatin the pieces of hot dog my brother was popping in. Couple years after that we moved to FL 🤣 I haven’t been back since they got capybaras, I need to go back. I remember everyone was devastated by the fire at the entrance in 2006
LOL! We used to ride bikes from Kissimmee out to Gatorland in the early 60s. Much smaller, Owen Godwin owned it. Was free to get in and operated on donations. Godwin sat in the gift shop by the exit and always had a pile of cash on the table in front of him with a big rock on top of it. We used to say it was free to go in but youhad to pay to get out.

When I was younger I spoke Spanish…well the US version, which I learned from friends. I worked in a Head Start program and a couple brought in their little girl. They were from deep in the interior…I could not understand much of it. It was beautiful though…almost like they were singing. I learned they were indigenous and it was their second language…English was their third.
My husband and I went to Gatorland and enjoyed it. Except we saw a pretty monkey with a bare red behind. The monkey's name was Stanley, and my husband was not amused. Guess my husband's name.
I got to see this man live on beloit wisconson. Let me tell you, he is just as much as you expect he is, And a little bit more. If you ever get the chance to see him i recomend and highly encourage it.
I'm from down here in Louisiana. Born and raised in the land of 'we don't get in a hurry for no damn thing.' And I have Mexican extended family members who talk really fast like that. It's like a machine gun packed with words instead of bullets. And it's not just Spanish. They talk that fast in English too. They start slinging out words at 8 rounds per second and I'm like throwing up a white flag and announcing 'hey dude stop firing I surrender already.'
I called that Gatorland place and i guess they hired a Spanish speaker for the prerecorded call because when I pressed the number for Spanish, someone actually spoke in Spanish
