I've read in a few places that carrots make crickets poisonous to mantids but I don't know how reliable my sources were, do you have any experience with this?

I personally don't really feed crickets to my mantis, they are mostly fed Flys and locusts :)

Kio Watanabe yeah same! I’ve been trying bean weevils/bean beetles on my L3 Zebra Mantis as even the baby locusts were a little large and he seems to love them so far 😊
