Thanks Sam, you’d need to measure them, I’m not sure of any way to know before removing the wheel, they must’ve fitted different driveshafts to different models. I bet the performance cars have the bigger nuts.
Brilliant walk through mate! Any tips on getting the driveshaft out of the hub if it’s seized? Weirdly I got the hub nut off relatively easily and the 6 driveshaft bolts too but I cannot get the driveshaft out the hub, tried giving it some proper welly with a punch and the hub nut back on slightly so it doesn’t mushroom the driveshaft but it won’t budge
Hi James, that is strange as the hub nuts are usually ruined on these. I guess as you can’t heat up the hub your only option will be to get as much penetrating fluid on there as possible and what your doing should work eventually. Hope you manage!
Tolly Swift thanks for your reply, I did just that and left it overnight and it finally came free after a bit of persuasion. However it’s the off side and I’ve pushed the driveshaft up at the diff end instead of down (clearly I should have watched your vid first instead of another that only did the near side) and now it’s jammed. I can’t get the shaft back into the hub enough to pull the drive shaft at the diff end back into the diff and down below it and there doesn’t seem to be enough room above the diff for it to go that way for me to get the shaft out of the hub fully even though it’s now free there 🤦♂️ third attempt tomorrow!
Hi, Do you advise changing the ABS/wheel speed sensor too as you noticed it was striking the ring? My e92 rings are both shot, just wondering if it’s worth swapping the sensors while I’m there. Thanks
I would advise changing them but I'd fit the new rings first and see if it sorts out the issues before spending the money. It may not be necessary to change them.
I think the whole process in the description is great and more yt'rs should do that. Great job.
Unfortunately haven't been able to write a description out on every job but thanks for the feedback I'll do them when I can!
Hey man, thanks for this write up, especially in the video notes! Am going to be doing this on a mates car very soon :)
Hi Joseph, thank you, I’m glad to help, this went better than I thought it would. Good luck with the job!
@@IAMASPANNER would you have any tips for removing the exhaust hangars?
great vid, how do I know what kind of hub nuts I'll need?

Hiii. Can you do a vide on how to remove the full dash?
My airbags have blown and i have no clue where to start 😩😩😩😩
Unfortunately not but I hope you find the info you need. Try buying a Haynes manual if you can’t find a video online.

Hi James, I’m glad that worked, regarding the driveshaft, if you jack up the hub you should be able to get it out, it gives more room.

Tolly Swift Ok, I’ll see how it goes, Thank you for the advice mate.
Too rusty..
you throw a lot of salt in winter time, we throw sand in Macedonia and it's like sandblasted underneath, we change windshields twice a year
