    Such a great lesson I was wondering if you ever use a verigated thread

    • @MelindaBula
      @MelindaBula  4 роки тому

      Sometimes. It only works in green. Otherwise it looks like mud. I want light thread on light pieces and dark thread on dark pieces.

    I keep coming back to watch, it's part of my getting ready routine for thread painting. (I'm currently working on your Hibiscus pattern, btw.) I can't find anyone selling Lickity-Stitch, including your Etsy site. Have you found something else you like?

    Melinda your even stitches amaze me! How do you stay so constant? My stitches are either to tiny or to long, I just can’t get them right.

    • @MelindaBula
      @MelindaBula  3 роки тому

      There is a trick for regulating your stitches. I teach that in my Thread Play class.

    I just finished your zinnia pattern (which I loved and was very easy to follow). I was wondering if you would normally do all the lavender parts first, they switch colors and do that part next instead of constantly changing colors for each petal...or, was this just done in this way to show multiple colors on a shorter video?

    • @MelindaBula
      @MelindaBula  2 роки тому

      I also will use one color all over the quilt. i was just show changing colors for the video.

    Hi Melinda, I found your video at just the right time I think. I just purchased a 590, had an 1130 and this is what I want to learn. Quilt art is so fascinating to me. Where do I take your classes? Is I quilt on the Bernina site?

    I like to hand stitch around edges.I measure out the placement of the stitches first,marking them with a bic round stick pen (the ink from this type of pen doesn't wash out or bleed).North American Indians measure out the placement of stiches before they hand stich traditional North American Indian garments.I'm afraid to use a sewing machine.

    What is your stitch length?

    • @MelindaBula
      @MelindaBula  5 років тому

      No stitch length, this is all free-motion. My hands and the speed of my pedal are making the stitch lengths. I have a class on this at, iQuilt.com called Renegade Thread Play. Thanks for the question.
