It never mattered. Gaap didn't cheat. We all know the ending of Umineko, they can struggle all the May but on the scenarios they could've never escaped their fate. She was just giving George a breather to express himself and then went like "k. Lmao. Stfu."
this moment really deep when you think about it this random ass scene has so much depth to it about the cycle of abuse and how Eva made the same mistakes as Kinzo by wanting to control her son's life but George stood up to his mother and did what he needed to lead his own life and shit this scene is actually kino when you think abt it but it's so unnoticed because umineko is just that good
George is arguably the best dude in the entire game-- he is a better cousin/role model to Maria than Battler, a more loyal family member than Battler (who quit the family for years), he's more loyal to the women he likes (BATTLER IS A WOMANIZER, so is Battler's dad and Battler's grandpa lolz), George instantly wanted to marry the woman he loved, George loved a woman who was "unique" (aside from being a servant while he is the heir to a rich family, Shannon is "unique" we'll just leave it at that)
@@teecakes - - - - As an avid Battler fan and defender, I’m writing this so hopefully you can understand why I completely disagree with all that you’ve said. First of all, it’s easy to say George is a better role model to Maria than Battler is. The last time Battler saw Maria was when she was three, and now that she’s nine she barely remembers him. And is he a bad one? Not really, he’s just more rowdy, much like Jessica, but you wouldn’t call her out for that. The only times I can really say Battler’s behavior towards/around Maria is wrong is when he smacks her for acting psychotic. Now I definitely don’t approve of this reaction, but you do have to understand that Maria is basically disrespecting the dead and laughing about it. That deserves some sort of discipline, and Battler’s method of this isn’t all out of place considering their circumstances. These only ever occur within the first game, though, and are even rarer still. Secondly, it’s not that Battler isn’t loyal to his family, it’s that he originally couldn’t forgive his father for what he did. Would you be okay if your mother died and immediately afterwards, your father remarried and basically admitted to cheating on your mother with the very woman he brought as a second wife? I’m pretty sure it’s a known fact that Battler loved all members of his family, he just couldn’t be around due to this complication. Even then, Battler put aside his resentment for his father so he could visit his little sister on her birthdays. Battler a womanizer? That’s also not a very accurate take. Since when did he play with girl’s hearts? It’s been mentioned girls have had crushes on him, but it’s never said he acted on them. He, himself, even admits his lack of any relationship experience. His pervy nature doesn’t support your claim either, considering this sort of humor was-and still is-popular among Japanese men. Is he still a horny teenager? Definitely. But a womanizer? Not at all. I’m assuming you meant the promise he made to Sayo/Shannon, though. I’ve seen a lot of people try to say Battler is an asshole for doing this, but why not look at it through his perspective? He was a twelve year old boy and he had a little crush. He said dumb things that he probably didn’t mean just because he was caught up in the moment. Are you really gonna shame him for not remembering it all six years later? And even if he did remember, you can’t act like he was doing it with malicious intent and just liked playing with people’s emotions. He was a little kid. Not to mention, this “interruption” in Battler and Sayo/Shannon’s relationship was caused by his mother’s passing and the conflict with his dad. So once again, it was not due to Battler being a bad person, just unfortunate circumstances. With all that being said, try to understand Battler a little before you start insulting him and claiming he isn’t a good person. As a bit of a bonus, I’d like to bring up some faults with George’s character since you claim he’s all that. To start, George admits that he used to hate women before he fell in love with Shannon because he couldn’t get them to pay attention to him. He even hated Battler for a time because he was jealous of his popularity with them. Not only that, but remember how one of the witches said that if it’s true to their character, a piece will excel in its actions? Remember that fight between George and Eva/EVA-Beatrice where he completely dissociates and is willing to kill her for Shannon? Doesn’t seem very “loyal to family” considering that’s his mother. Let’s also talk about how unnervingly possessive he is of Shannon; it’s honestly concerning. Have you heard his character image song? So honestly I wouldn’t go around confidently claiming he’s a much better person than Battler.
@@socks2178 I don't think when someone said "womanizer" that they really meant to put Battler on the same page as his father. Really, Battler was kind of trying to give that kind of air about himself, though as you said, it was for humor. I don't think that's so egregiously inaccurate that it completely misunderstands his character. Similarly, George never really "hated" anyone (though he may have used that word), he was a kid with insecurities. People already give Battler the benefit of the doubt, I don't think he needs a defense of his character. But like, moreover, neither of them "did anything wrong." Battler in the story is still a kid, barely leaving adolescence, and George is someone to took growing up seriously and is for all intents and purposes a good kid. If we're talking about "who did something wrong," it's so cut and dry that I'm surprised *anyone* tries to put the blame on the kids. Spoilers following: --------- Some people seem to put Sayo in the category of "indirectly a culprit" when we kind of know without much ambiguity that she killed plenty of people herself, we've seen it happen. The murderers of Rokkenjima are Sayo and the adult accomplices. We also "know," kind of, that most any of the adults could have and would have participated as accomplices, whether it was for the money or for the safety of their family (as with Natsuhi). I'm genuinely curious if ANYONE actually believes forgetting a promise truly, in any conceivable way, justifies the murders. It's not a really compelling motive in itself (and I know there's more to it), but part of the fun of Umineko is basically watching these children learn about and confront the past actions of their parents and grandfather. Battler is a steadfast guy with a heart of gold, but also *incompetent*. George is a man in love, who may be trying too hard to run away from the person he was as a kid. Jessica is relatable, so I'm told I never really felt that way, who is bad with stress (thus faking asthma attacks and such). They're all just kids. They were all manipulated by Sayotrice who literally planned on killing them all, because she couldn't choose one (again, I know I'm oversimplifying). Battler didn't commit a "sin" by being a bit of an ass and forgetting a promise. George isn't a terrible person just because he was a really awkward kid. Jessica isn't a manipulator just because she... fakes medical issues... which makes her cool and relatable apparently. I personally think that if we're gonna shit on any of the kids, we should give all of them their fair critiques, and the fact of the matter is that they all respect each other in the story and generally show they all have hearts of gold.
