LCW's skills are simply amazing!
LCW has the best Badminton motions, incredibly smooth and explosive. He also has crazy consistency on a year-round basis. The only thing LD excels at is importance of titles and head-to-head comparisons. However, on a match-2-match basis LCW is clearly the more enjoyable player to watch. His elegance of motion is unsurpassed. If you ask me, he even moves smoother than Federer.
Themba Mabona qualities of Lin Dan are mainly anticipation... his agility and physical prowess are on a class of its own..

It seems to me that LCW is slightly more athletic in terms of speed, leaping ability and lateral motion. However, I don't think his nerves are not as strong as LD's and his shots are not as deceptive as the Chinese Master's. Both are highly enjoyable to watch. I just would hold that the overall aesthetics of LCW's Badminton poetry is higher ;)
Comparing to Federer is a bit off... it's two different sports lol... How can you compare LCW's smooth and explosive footwork with like... messi lol. Also LCW is really fit and excels at speed and agility / defense. However Lin Dan excels when it comes to smooth footwork, he makes it seem effortless while LCW's footwork is amazing fast and explosve yes, but seems to require a lot more energy.

Technical skill is only one of the many important factors in determining a player's success. Most people neglect mental toughness, either because they hate to admit that LCW has very weak mental strength, or they simply think that is not at all important. However, mentality precedes all.
If I hold up Chen Long's and LCW's resumes for any major world class event, I would definitely choose the former one because I can have 100% confidence in Chen Long that he can perform well under pressure and get the job done. With LCW, I'd say he would probably stand a 50-60% chance of winning a major.
+Ariff Hanipol You're obviously one of those LCW's diehard fans who sees only a small part of a bigger picture. Let's just face it, you hate to admit that LCW succumbed to mental breakdown from time to time during crucial moments in many of his major matches against either Lin Dan or Chen Long. My point here is, without the ability to remain composed to think clearly, any player, regardless whether it's Lin Dan, Chen Long or LCW, can never make the right split-second decision. This is especially evident in World Championships, Olympic Game and Asian Games, where you see LCW making many costly mistakes.
LCW may have beaten both players in their home country, but that's merely part of the whole story. Statistically speaking, I'll still prefer Chen Long to LCW to take on any player in any major tournament on any day, simply because I trust that Chen Long can perform way better under pressure than LCW does. It's about mentality. End of story.

Dunno if you talk of Jorgensen or Korean son wan oh. Both are " rally player" make opponent going around the court. Jorgensen solid top 5 during 5 years of ld and lcw. Son wan oh had one great year where he was world number one. He was going for rally but mostly he was such a strategic player, going for vital weakness in opponent's game, even tho he had an insane cross court half reverse smash (trademark) you can see him doing it in the video

good video. By the way for all the badminton matches I had seen for different years, I always hear that Lady commentator. It makes me wonder whether she is the only badminton commentator around.
Lee chong wei is the most consistent badminton player in history. He maitain his performance until he retire, and the one who hold the longest time becoming rank no1 single player in the world, he just unlucky not get to get olympic medal other big tournament because lindan is in his way, lindan is way too good. No one can beat lindan at his peak. But lee chong wei is definitely the second best player in badminton history. Big tittle does not make you the best player in the world. Lee chong wei also hold the record for the player with the highest winrate rating in badminton history.
