I have a question to the head placement. In Vaganova technique, I was tought that we keep the head facing to the front when we go to à la seconde and we look to the side when going to the back and to the front with the leg, yet I see Mr. Du use the head differently in these combinations. Is there any kniwledge I am lacking?

No, you're not lacking anything, you're right. In this combination, once his arm and leg go to II position, he should look front (according to Vaganova Method).
