    Had been a Mizuno player- blades specifically- for over ten years, yet was still unsure about Miura irons, given their mystique. Finally took the plunge and was fitted for their Baby Blades, and have never looked back; and honestly, don't know that I'll ever be able to, now! I always held Mizuno blades in such high regard- and still do- but Miura is truly in a league of its own...no matter who you pin them against...period! The feel, sound, performance, feedback and well, unparalleled look, is nostalgic! Miura mini blades are the equivalent of what a Samurai warrior would chose for battle and thus, this shall remain my choice of swords to battle all courses, henceforth. For those on the fence, take the plunge: your game will never be the same! Thank You Mr Miura, Miura family, dedicated craftsman and the entire International Miura Team!

    Wow! What a beautiful philosophy! Some Miura blade irons landed at my local pro shop about 2 weeks ago. But when I could not find them in the shop anymore, so I asked the young teaching pro what happened to them? He said there was a strange sound late one night with flashing lights and the security guard swore he sore a disc shaped craft wisk down and scoop the irons up , then it wisked off again back into the vast blackness of outer space! Goddarn it! just when my broker E.F. Hutton gave me permission to release some equity from my property to be able to afford to buy a set! Ah well you can't have everything, so I guess I'll have to settle for a humble set of Pings.

    If I were to go to Japan I would to straight to a miura foundry or somewhere where they make miura clubs just to catch a mere glimpse of the art that is miura irons and wedges, right now I play old second hand clubs from my father that were handed to him because they were unwanted. Anyone who owns a set of miura wedges or irons I consider more fortunate then me in every way, because of the effort and soul that went into making these masterpieces of soft iron work is outstanding and miura is the only brand that I will ever believe is the best. Thank you katsuhiro miura.

    Between MIURA, MIZUNO and HONMA...who makes the Best Irons and why...???
    I played MIZUNO MP32 which left me with mixed reactions, when I'm on song they were the best clubs to play in terms of feel and on those days where my swing was not a friend they would frustrate the shit out of me,especially those off center hits, but man when I pured those things the feel was unlike any other,hence the saying NOTHING FEELS LIKE A MIZUNO which I can attest to.
    I would like to know if MIURA is better coz I'm very much tempted to get me a set.
    What would anybody suggest, especially if you've moved from MIZUNO to MIURA...I am in love with their attention to detail and workmanship, I feel like they are one of the most underrated club makers in the world, to me they are like the automobile manufacturer LEXUS(LS 460) who are highly underrated but are exceptionally good compared to their German counterparts, I say so coz I drive one by the way.😉
    Please can anyone advice.
    Thanks.

      I haven't played Mizunos, but I have hit many types of Miura irons. I was given a set of S-Yard GT (actually made by Epon) irons for some work I did for S-Yard, which is owned by Seiko, and was thinking to switch to Miuras because I heard so much about them. So, I took my S-Yard GT irons to a practice range that sold Miuras here in Japan and put them all head to head. I'm a solid 9 HC, and after a warmup I hit 10 with each club. While the Miuras felt very good, I couldn't find a set that worked better for me than my GTs. It could be the shafts (NS Pro 950 S), or even the grips (I use 3 layers of tape and a thicker grip). The Miuras were either a bit more erratic, not as long, and sometimes both. Now, I am not here to bash on Miura because I love how they are hand made, the design, the look, the feel... everything. But, the S-Yard GTs overall, outperformed them for me. Which is sad because I would have easily paid $2000 for a set of Miuras if they worked for me. Your mileage may vary, and many players who are much better than me swear by them.

    • @casualguy393
      @casualguy393 4 роки тому

      @SpinachToothedSmile It's hard to tell braddah. Some of the Miura's I hit had the same shafts as my S-Yards, but I just couldn't get them to work for me. I do think they are the best looking clubs on Earth though lol.

    • @casualguy393
      @casualguy393 4 роки тому

      @SpinachToothedSmile You'll never guess what happened. 1 of my clients here in Japan is a golfer, and gave me two sets of Miuras. One set is 2002s (AW-3i) on DG S200 shafts, and the other set is 5002s (Pw-3i) on DG S300 shafts. Sure, they are old, but they are in good shape.
      Yesterday I switched the 7i grip for my usual 3 layers of tape and same grip and will take it out tomorrow during my break for a quick test. It still could be the shafts causing a different feel, but I'm not ready to spring for a full set of new NS Pro 950 S shafts and new grips just yet.

      I own both Mizuno and Miura. And Miura is better, in terms of everything, by FAR. I never owned Homa but have demoed them before and they felt almost exactly the same as Srixon, which is a different feel than Mizuno, a little harder but not bad at all, absolutely no comparison to Miura tho. So in conclusion, among those three brands you listed, Miura is the winner by FAR, especially in terms of feel. There are a few other brands from Japan that are on the same level Miura, Epon, Kyoei, Seven, and even Fujimoto is pretty close.

    These cost a lot of money. Love Miura, but a pro once told me that for 95% of the golfers they should buy a $500 set of clubs, then get lessons and PRACTICE a few times weekly (Seems young guys don't want to do that anymore) , as the great Ben Hogan said "you find your game in the dirt", by time at the range. . You cannot buy a game. Makes me wonder if it matters to most of us if we play PING, or Titleist, or Mizuno or Callaway, does it really matter to most of us- I don't know. Miura are great, If Jack Nicklaus puts them in the bag which he has, you know their great and I'm tempted to get some. Just not convinced it matters for most of us hacks.

    • @vic_0315
      @vic_0315 5 років тому +4

      majorsmythe1 it depends on what “matters” the most to you. To me, it’s the mentality, you can call it a pet peeve but I must mentally feel comfortable with the equipment in my hands to swing confidently. By comfortable I mean, my favorite clubs. I started playing golf 6 years ago with a used set of Callaway for about $200. About a year into playing I discovered Miura. I was at 12 handicap at that time but I could tell for SURE that Miura was something different than anything off the rack. It was nearly $3000 to built a set so I didn’t purchase them right away. But ever since then I felt the club I had was just a piece of trash whenever I swung them, which bothered me a LOT. A month later I decided to order a set of Miura CB-57. After 5 years I am now at a 1.7 handicap(I have been able to practice basically everyday and actually seeking a career out of golf rn) and those Miura are still in bag. So from my experience, if you can, get the shit you want, so that you know the rest of your game is totally on you.

    • @Tlhakxza
      @Tlhakxza 5 років тому

      I love that quote "you find your game in dirt"...I want a set of these, love the craftsmanship and attention to detail...not to say others don't pay attention but MIURA looks like the type of company whose ability to pay attention to detail is analogous to that of the Japanese Automobile manufacturer LEXUS(LS 460-500 to be precise)...I am in love.

      @@vic_0315 You're obviously a true golfer. So much is made of "how a club looks at address" and it all comes down to preference. You're so right about everything you said. I have a great set of newer Mizunos, I liked them and was fitted into them. Bought some second hand CB57's, just to try because they were a good deal and getting them extended, lie adjusted and regripped was only a couple bucks, I took them to the range.
