Wow, what a hidden gem, right ? This group is totally new to me as well, but I actually liked this quite a bit. I just think it's great that some people still like music like this. And I heard more than enough to establish the fact that they are all excellent singers, that would probably stand very well on their own as well. And I enjoyed the dynamics between the voices as well. That being said, I agree with you on the lyrics. It was definitely NOT the highlight of the performance 😂 I'll be checking out more from them 😉 Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Ok so in The Soil song it was the female vocalist that 1st sang the “before” line that saved this song for me. Her voice is warm & beautiful. Not a fan of the other female vocalist’s voice. I feel it took away from the song. Liked the male vocalist too.
Lloyiso. Omg. Like you it’s been a minute since I’ve listened to him & Lord the 2nd he started singing it was just pure joy all over again. NO one sings like him. Never heard that song before. Simply amazing. Absolutely made my day! And you’re right. Was a delight to see that other side of him.
Novia. Omg her voice! Never heard of her either but she blew me away! Loved everything about her singing & the song, including the lyrics. I’m a huge fan of lyrics & these were inspiring. Going to tackle the mountain & make it to the top. Yep. All of us need to hear things like that when we’re going thru something & music transcends everything, no matter who you are or where you come from. It literally has saved lives & given people a reason to keep going. So powerful in that respect & amazing when you stop to think about that aspect of what music can do. It literally can change lives. Loved this song!
AJ. Omg I teared up watching that. You know she’s not my fav singer & I feel somewhat bad about that cuz I KNOW she should be! I mean I do recognize her talent is otherworldly & she’s one of a kind. A true prodigy. But idk. I just am not a fan of her voice as the rest of the entire world is. But watching the documentary, I have absolutely fallen in love with HER. Who she is as a person. So humble, down to earth, appreciative , loving. Her interactions with her sister…just a beautiful thing to watch. So I am a HUGE fan of hers in that sense. What a gift she is to the world, not only musically but as a human being.
Ok shifting gears lol. In your absence I stumbled across a group called “Dirty Loops”. They are a trio from Sweden. Jonah on keyboard & vocals, Henrick on bass guitar, & Aron on drums. Oh. My. Frickin. GOD! 1st of all they are in the top 1% of being masters at playing their instruments. Not exaggerating. Elite, world class musicians. As if that’s not enough Jonah’s voice is UNREAL. I have never heard ANY male vocalist with his range. It is so pure & clear and his tone is unmatched. Riffs & runs are stellar too.
They are managed by the great Quincy Jones & Jonah often sounds incredibly similar to Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder but also has his own unique sound. If all you did was listen to them playing their respective instruments you would be blown away but throw in Jonah’s voice & you’ve been transported to Nirvana.
If you don’t believe me head over to your friend Charlie Smith’s channel & watch him gush about them. He’s done several reactions to them & says their song “Next To You” is the “absolute most fun I’ve had in a reaction. Ever.” He (like me) is a MASSIVE fan. I literally am obsessed. I’ve watched nothing but their videos (over & over) for the past week now. As if their talents aren’t enough, they inject so much joy in their videos. They are known for their humor & crazy chemistry with each other. They’re always having a great time, laughing & smiling thru out the songs. It’s so infectious! The amount of professional musicians, vocal coaches & producers that have reacted to them is ridiculous & they all are in agreement. Dirty Loops are aliens from another planet. 🤣
They tend to do this thing where they cut the ends of their songs off which just leaves you wanting more! And at the end of the song they roll credits which are worth reading because again, they put stuff in them that is hella funny.
A lil bit of history. Jonah & Henrick are childhood friends & they met Aron in secondary school. All 3 went on to study at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm together. They formed Dirty Loops in 2008. Their catalog is pretty big. They started out doing covers but now have a lot of their own songs.
You have GOT to react to “Next To You”. Returning to the subject of Jonah’s incredible vocals, EVERY backing vocal on the track is done by him & him alone. There’s a backing choir in this song. It’s ALL Jonah. He wrote each part on a chalkboard & sang them all differently then layered them together. In the video it shows Aron the drummer, singing with Jonah, & very briefly Henrick too. It’s all just for fun. Aron is miming. There’s only one song I’ve listened to where Aron & Henrick do backing vocals. EVERY other song the backing vocals are ALL Jonah. Too many songs to list for you to react to but you def should listen to their “Thriller” cover with Jonah literally channeling MJ & Stevie Wonder. Also, “Follow The Light” and for an achingly heartbreaking ballad “Breakdown”. It would be amazing if you reacted to Breakdown but if you’re only able to do one, it’s GOT to be Next To You.
I looked to see if you’ve reacted to them before & it doesn’t look like you have, unless I missed it. Talk to Charlie lol. His reactions to them are EVERYTHING!

Oh and since it’s been a minute, just want to remind you that you MUST react at some point to Snarky Puppy feat Lalah Hathaway “Something”, the Family Dinner video. Another elite, world class band (although much larger than the 3 members of Dirty Loops) blowing your mind with their musicianship, then adding Ms Hathaway’s incredible vocals, including some ridiculous scatting & her singing 2 and 3 chords at the same time. Just UNREAL. And not to be missed!
