From "The Office": an American television mockumentary sitcom broadcast on NBC. Created as an adaptation by Greg Daniels of the British series of the same name, it is a mockumentary that follows the day-to-day lives of the employees of the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of Dunder Mifflin, a fictional paper supply company. The series stars Steve Carell as Michael Scott, John Krasinski as Jim Halpert, Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly and Rainn Wilson as Dwight Schrute.

Seeing Dwight snap at Michael during the roast is one of the most satisfying moments on the show!
In that moment Dwight had finally had enough of Michael calling him an idiot and rejecting his help when he is nothing but loyal and respectful and yet Michael constantly treats him like dirt and pushes him aside in favour of pleasing and getting attention from the “cool” people who cannot stand him!
But above all, Michael doesn’t even have any land!
That's a really great point and I never really thought of it that way. Michael was oblivious to a lot of things but he was very aware of the social hierarchy of The Office. He knew who was"cool" (Jim, Pam, Darryl) and who was "lame" (Dwight, Toby, Phyllis). From the first episode with the jello, he he tried (unsuccessfully) to get in good with Jim, at the expense of Dwight. He was like the unpopular kid in high school, always willing to dump on his friends, in the hopes that he could get the popular kids to laugh.
Over the years, the writers managed to soften some of Michael's more obnoxious characteristics, but they left that one alone. Who knows- maybe THEY were the cool kids! 🤷♂️

The "why are you the way that you are" makes me feel so sorry for Toby. Nobody deserves to hear that, much less so if you're just suggesting testing for radon
