Noone has explianed like you did in the video. I stopped and came to write comment and like the video just after you showed the real notebook and then showed by comparing it. Thank you so much for your effort.

I’m so glad I found your channel on UA-cam! I use OneNote for everything, but each of your videos shows me a new tip or tweak I can use. Thanks!

Great video! So I have a question- do you create one Page for one Meeting? Or if it is part of the same series of meetings, you put all meetings’ notes on the one Page?

I understand that attaching a file can be trouble if you keep the original on your hard drive or in OneDrive. So If I delete the original and maintain only the file in OneNote what are the negatives? When should I keep all originals in OneDrive folders and only link to them?
I am trying to decide on where should my files reside -- OneNote or OneDrive or my hard drive.
    Thanks

Why are you using Evernote for personal stuff? Are you planning to do a video on how you organise your personal notes, that might be helpful too.

Hi - My usage needs for personal notes are very different from those for work. I use Evernote primarily as information/document storage and retention. You can call it a second brain. Evernote's search feature is a lot more advanced than that of OneNote so it helps me find info very quickly. And I've been a premium user of Evernote since 2009 and I have over 8000 notes in there, so it would be a major hassle to move those to another platform.
With that said, OneNote works perfectly for work, especially if you're working in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The notes that I keep here are more temporary in nature - pertaining to active projects and meetings. I do archive them periodically so that I can reference them in the future, but the primary use is to manage what's going on now.
I will consider making future videos about Evernote. Thanks!

@@AndyPark365 Could you make a video on how to use OneNote effectively as a second brain? More specifically, how would you implement a Zettelkasten in OneNote? I have been looking into alternative apps like Obsidian and Logseq, but the problem is that I rely heavily on the smooth Windows inking experience of OneNote.

    • @AndyPark365

Hi John - honestly, I think it will be difficult to implement Zettelkasten entirely in OneNote since OneNote's file structure is linear.
Although you can capture fleeting notes (and maybe even literary notes) in OneNote, your permanent notes should really be captured in apps like Obsidian, Logseq, Roam, etc. for back linking. Otherwise, it could be difficult to connect the notes/ideas.
I'm no expert in the Zettelkasten method so maybe someone else can jump in here if they have advice. Thanks.

@@AndyPark365 Thanks for the quick reply. There are some OneNote plugins that can do backlinking, but I have yet to try it out.

@@JohnSmith-gb8hd I will try to explore this a bit more and circle back if I find a practical solution. Thanks.

Andy, do you ever feel overwhelmed with the options available in the Microsoft Office 365 suite? Some things I like to track in Planner, some in To Do, some in my calendar, etc and it just bogs me down.

    • @AndyPark365
      @AndyPark365  2 роки тому +6

Yes of course. In MS Office there are several apps that have similar and overlapping features so it's hard to choose. Add apps outside the MS platform and this could really get out of hand. Not to get philosophical but the paradox of choice definitely causes decision fatigue. It's best to just stick to a few apps and decide up front which you are going to use for what. I struggle with this like everyone else. Good luck!
