man this video is iconic, from the music to the clips to the commentary... probably what got me into cs, 2014 were the good times, since the glove update i cant take it
I agree with you when they added the sounds of weapons, maps and gloves. the game has changed
It's crazy to see Device and KRiMZ (and CadiaN who did not get to the list but appeared in some of the killfeeds here lol) still perform on the highest level, while the rest of the players completely faded away or had to reinvent themselves since then (props to apEX here). However, I have to argue with 'glove update' sentiment.
I feel like what happened to CS:GO is the same thing that inevitably happens to all of the sports nowadays, as we have way more data to work with. I follow football (soccer) a lot and also Dota 2 scene, and they both changed from being a sports of charismatic individuals that were able to turn the game around themselves into a structured team sports that are extremely interesting to analyze but unfortunately are way more boring to watch as a casual viewer.
I often come back to 2014-2015 fragmovies of CS:GO to see KennyS, GeT_RiGhT and even Maikelele perform, because that was the time of a beautiful, uncontrolled chaos that allowed these players to bloom. I have no doubt that modern stars like ZywOo or Ropz would demolish those old lads even in the latter's prime form, but they are simply not as exciting to look at. But that's what progress looks like. We don't get Ronaldinho and Beckham in football anymore as well, but we have xG, aroung a hundred different counter-pressing measurements and goalkeepers that don't even need to catch the ball nowadays, as it's more important to see them pass properly.

Fantastic movie, great players and great highlights.
I loved the mixture of frags as it was usually fairly easy to think of the players' best highlight, which would then show up as the first clip and then the second clip would be a highlight from a long time ago, that you barely remember anymore.

But that can also be applied to what you are saying. JW clearly outperformed Pasha in the 2nd part of 2014, and while Pasha was better around Katowice, it wasn't by as significant a margin.

JW became world class with current line-up with krimz covering his ass, while Pasha still remained a world class player for the second part of the year. there is no Virtus Plough without Pasha my friend.

Wigglly Wagger if he were overrated how come he drop a 45 bomb against ldlc only a few weeks back, where epsilon ended up beating them 2-1? and do i need to point out how RIDICULOUS that is considering how much of a scrub team he is playing on.. u can't just say that he is overrated when the fact is that scream is the ONLY thing keeping epsilon alive, once he gets a better team epsilon simply disapears from the top scene.

xModernRanger u cant say that mate. Go check out a few of his recent games and ucan see that he still frags quite a bit and can really make those clutch situations work. Plus his hs ability is by far the best in the game.

2014 my favorite year for cs go. It was plain ans simple cs go then, and now new gloves? new sounds? new spray patterns? nerfing every good weapon? Valve made it rich just by the weapon skins and knife skins why should you touch the game anymore? I dont remember cs 1.6 or source getting that kind of attention. CS GO was my favorite game in the period of late 2014 and mid 2015 and then things started to get worse and worse and worse X100000000000000 worse

+That Guy On The Street The HLTV top 20 is based on skill + results. KennyS probably had the best skill in 2014, but he didn't have any tournament wins. Thats why he isn't higher on the list. JW maybe wasn't as skilled, but they won more.
Well, you may as well add Kqly, SF and Emilio to the list if Flusha is on it.
How is this video so colorful ? Is it a video effect to be with so much color ? My game doesn't look this good, even on high quality, it looks like a low version of this.
