He was neglected, forgotten. They enjoyed his music, but they didn't understand how progressive or important it was. Unfortunately, he also wrote for very large groups and the Finnish orchestras were too small back then for the full grandeur of his pieces.
So interestion connections with Skryabin and the whole poetic of the "Russian Cosmism" , which was very influential in those times in philosophy, art, and music. Meanwhile, the score is very beatutiful at itself.
Sad and at the same time beautiful that this was written to honor his dead cat
"The composition is dedicated to Raitio's cat".
[Imagine a very perplexed meme here.]
and it's one of his greater ones... people back then were definitely puzzled or annoyed that he dedicated it to his cat
I cannot believe I have never heard of this composer before. This music is very progressive considering the context of the 1920s Finnish music scene.

@@PianoHypnoshroomyes its really unfortunate how in his later years he abandoned the modernist idea
Gorgeous! It would be great to hear it paired on a concert with Holst's "The Planets."
Absolutely not, thats a disgrace to this composition
Magic!
What a delightful piece from a totally unknown composer.
Amazing!
bold and daring
Beautiful

Music of the spheres
Finally! Ratio!
You can hear Scriabin's, Ravel's, and Debussy's influences.
Is it possible for you to do Mielck's Symphony? He's another underrated composer from Finland. Died at the age of 21... so young.
epic
Also, this sounds like it belongs in a game from the 2000's era.
A breath of fresh air
Nietzschean
I like your profile pic btw
Where did you find the score? 🤨
Finally! A potato!
