In this video, Dr. Rob Jones will show you a great idea on how to help keep your back in lordosis, prevent back pain, and Protect Your Back!
It is important to have proper posture while sitting. Sitting in an improper position may cause disc bulges, and harm your spine!
The annulus fibrosus is the tough circular exterior of the intervertebral disc that surrounds the soft inner core, the nucleus pulposus. This outer portion is composed of a ring of ligament fibers that encases the inner core of the disc and securely connects the spinal vertebrae above and below the disc.
In its most basic definition, a bulging or herniated disc occurs when an intervertebral disc, which serves as a cushion between the vertebrae, loses its typical shape and compresses a spinal nerve. ... The outer wall of an intervertebral disc can become weakened for a variety of reasons.

6:14 I always feel that. And keep trying to stretch it over and over because I ended up becoming extension intolerant. Need to reevaluate my strategy. Thanks Doc.

Just started working my way through your videos from the start and I'm very hopeful. I will explain my position here and hopefully by the time I finish them I will be making progress and can give you feedback.
I'm male, age 26, height 6ft (184cm), weight ~10 stone (63kg) (way skinnier than most of my mates).
I'm a relatively active person, doing mountain biking or BMXing at least twice a week and have always done some form of sport.
I do an office job and am often sitting down on the sofa during my evenings too.
I have the typical skinny guy bad posture - neck sticks out forward, shoulders are hunched. I occasionally get lower back pain and neck/upper back aches.
Whilst my current suffering isn't enough for me to seek help, your videos have highlighted the risk if I don't do something about it. I also want to improve my appearance.
I've tried to gain weight and go to the gym before, but eating enough was always a huge challenge and I never really enjoyed being in the gym. Also, as soon as I had a week off, I lost all my gains.
Gaining weight and strength is another goal, but I feel the two are linked and I hope that following your advice, I can improve both.

Keep your lordosis! Use a support to hold your lordosis in place.

Hey Rob. Thanks for all your back pain videos I’m finding them very helpful compared to most!
I have had lower back pain for approx 3 years, worst in the morning and generally gets better throughout the day until tomorrow… have good days and bad days, even good weeks and bad weeks. When I watch your videos I feel as if the pain you discuss is a direct spine pain? But my pain feels muscular and is all lower back and hips.. even spreading up the back when it’s bad where my whole back feels super stiff and sore. Especially when I twist. However I don’t tend get pain directly on my spine?
    If that makes sense..
    Thanks again

It does, classic symptoms. Try some extension work BEFORE bed. This generally helps with morning pain. Good luck!

@@HeyDrRob that’s a good shout and not something I’ve actually tried. I will definitely give it a try. Recently invested in a firm Tempur mattress which was expensive but still got the pain 😔
