    I know this question probably needs a long answer but I’ll ask anyway. Why do you choose steel frame for som projects and concrete frame for others?

The lightweight hollow fiberglass and aluminum composites that weigh over 200 tons flying through the air at almost 500mph can smash through the light gauge steel curtain wall and the structural I beams. Not a bad video. We don’t use the term “I” beam though. They are called “wide flange shapes” since the shape can be used as a column, beam, or brace.
    That first picture of the base plate is a poor representation since the anchor bolt projection does not meet AISC requirements. The threads of the bolt must engage all the threads of the nut. These are too short.
    Lastly - don’t use this video as a means of steel Erection in accordance with OSHA Subpart R. I counted 3 “serious” and citation worthy violations. PPE and fall protection.

    which is stronger steel frames like this or concrete (with steel bars)???

    • @CDubs720
      @CDubs720 4 роки тому +2

      Depends on the size of the individual members that make up the structure.

    • @mkmgcok
      @mkmgcok 3 роки тому +1

      @@CDubs720 the armoured concrete - columns and beams - 300-400 Portland cement and wire-linked cemented construction steel rods (2/3”) is the preferable construction system, isn’t it? It’s a little longer. No matter how the building area is small and how they fill the walls between columns and beams, you need a week for every level and at least a month for the basis.
      E.g. not a large area of 150m2 , say 1 minimalistic (budget) apartment on every level, built in 3 to 5 months, for 5-apartments - building, from scratch (a pit) to roof, ready for exploitation.

      The beams and columns in the world trade center flanges ranging from 1in to 3in thickness, and at that approximate time period they didnt use mild steel just yet, they used pig iron big and bulky, the reason why the Industry made the switch to mild steel is because pig iron was hard to cut and shape it wasn't malleable like mild steel that we have today. How do I know This? Because I am a 15 year union Ironworker vet, stay woke safe travels✌
