Rizzo isn’t giving himself enough credit man. I’m proud of what he accomplished and I think with enough motivation to play and get better he could def hit that Joyo shot.
That's what he's saying though, he's not that motivated. You're talking about someone that understands the mechanical nuance of the game better than us; if anyone can really see all the hours in freeplay behind that shot, it's another pro. He doesn't have all those hours in him, not because his hands or eyes don't work but just because he wouldn't enjoy it. And that's fine.
Bruh I’m so glad someone’s talked about Deevo’s goal, it’s actually such an insane goal especially for it’s time where a basic ceiling shot was considered nuts
The "Riiiiise, Joyo, Vatiiiiiira!" chant from the Spring major lives in my head rent free. What a fantastic tournament and a great one to experience for my first LAN event.
The real reason I watched the RLCS or other rocket league events was for the entertainment, and for that, G2 was always the best. Not for the team per say, but for the players, and very specifically Rizzo. You gave life to the rocket league content, the memes, and for that you'll truly always be the GOAT for a great portion of RL fans. Best of luck for your future achievements my man!
This was such a great recap of the RLCS history from an og, thank you Rizzo!! I started watching beginning this year and this helps a lot to understand the hypes and rivalries better.
I'll never forget how crazy (at the time) the season 3 week 1 Ferra fake vs Flipside was because it was in game 5 of a reverse sweep. The Spanish casters were going nuts.
Rlcs 9 g2 is one of the best teams in the history of rocket league. And rizzo in late 2019-2020 is in my opinion one of the best players to ever touch the pitch.
look at it this way, rizzo: in a way, joyo's shot is a direct result of your play in seasons 2-9. that's how progress happens. someone takes a step forward, shows everyone how they did it, and then others pick it up from there. so, if you think about it, moist couldn't have won without you
Entertaining and educational, with the flair of personable storytelling. I would watch the Rizzo narrated 10 hour Ken Burns Rocket League documentary. 👍
I think Gimmick doesn't get enough recognision in the way air rolls are used by pro's these days. In worlds season 6 everyone thought Gimmick was just freestyling, in fact he did it everytime he went for aerials. Gimmick his playstyle was using perma air roll, constantly pressing air roll, only releasing it while jumping or having to stay still to land on the wheels. The air rolls worked because of his ball chase playstyle and opponents couldn't read what Gimmick was gonna do because of al the spinning. The fact he sas a dominus main helpen too, with the long nose he could use more power to change the direction of the ball while spinning. Since that moment pro's started practicum using air roll too, it developed in the whole pro scène. Nowadays everybody is spinning in competitie matches.
That Joyo goal is so fucking nuts man. I watched it live, and have watched it numerous times since, and I couldn't explain just how ridiculous it is to anyone that doesn't know Rocket League with anything less than 45 minutes and a Powerpoint presentation. There are so many little things packed into those couple of seconds that I don't think anyone who doesn't know RL could ever really appreciate. It really is the pinnacle of modern Rocket League. Doesn't hurt that it looks so insanely cool as well.
I can’t be the only one who’s not that impressed by it, imo it’s an alright goal. Anyone who’s under GC 3 is gonna think it’s nuts tho considering they lack the mechanical skill to understand how it’s done.
@@bemb4064 u also have to consider that this was done in a grand final for a prize of 90,000 dollars against the falcons. regardless if a gc3 can do this, pulling that off in that situation is unbelievable.
@@spencer6585 someone could ask joyo and he himself would even tell you that wasn’t that impressive of a goal. Def just a basic goal once you know how to properly air dribble. The only impressive part of the shot was the creativity to go for that.
@@opliko Fr lmao. Kid thinks it's not impressive just because joyo knows how to air dribble. like bruh why doesn't he do that against the falcons in front of a live crowd that big
I think high diamonds are way better than that now. Champs would shit all over the competition up until season 5 or so. I think plats with solid rotations would give season 1 RLCS teams a good run for their money.
@@Peksisarvinen i don't know man, i'm champ 2 and although these guys don't seem mechanical at all, they were kinda fast and they had good coms, no champ practices comming, so they might outplay champs with that (but they didn't even clear balls toward their backboard, those simple things lmao), but it's up to our imagination i guess

I'm wondering if we can use the machine learning bots to find new and interesting mechanics we can learn from.
Not really relevant to the video but damn I really disliked Quinn back in the early seasons. Definitely the most toxic, whiny 'pro' I ever played against. And then when he made it on the caster desk I was like "damn they really got this guy? 😑" Not sure what the general opinion of him was back then but shit....that dude sucked
Hot take. Season 2 teams could beat any champ 1&2 lobbies. Season 3 teams could beat any c3 lobbies. Season 4 could beat any gc1 lobbies. If u disagree ur highly overating Champs and low level gcs and underestimating team play

Rizzo reminiscing is so wholesome. Learned of this guy from the Jon Sandman challenges, and I've been a fan since. A good man, and a genuine person.
The Landon Donovan commentary was iconic. When he asks Rizzo what he'll do with the cash and Rizzo hits the "Im going to Disneyland" joke
i’m so happy i’ve been here since near the beginning, i’m so proud of what this scene has become it brings me to tears to see how it’s grown :)
The "Riiiiise, Joyo, Vatiiiiiira!" chant from the Spring major lives in my head rent free. What a fantastic tournament and a great one to experience for my first LAN event.
I'm ngl this is current season is probably the best rlcs season
Big if true
ofc it is
I mean it's the newest season so ofc it's the best
Every season so far has been the best season as far as gameplay. We probably still have a few years left before we see overall improvement slow down.
Can someone explain why air rolling was so much less in the past? Was it added later or something?
If you didn't watch competitive and 1s in early RL, you don't understand the sheer fear Kuxir would put into his opponents. Except Scrub lmao
29:34... That was gold! Thank you Rizzo

This is probably my favourite video on this channel. Props to the editor as well.
12:09 "look at that peak" the harshest Fireburner diss ever 😂 all the way back in season 3 😂

Whole video worth watching for that line LUL

deevos shot is a shot that is hard to even recreate today. revolutionary talent
Season 5 and 6 were the peak of RLCS, loved watching the game evolve back then!
For people like me who are in that relatively newish to RL, this was an awesome recap. To see how much growth has happened is wild
that Jstn shot gives me chills every time i see it. Thats the clip i show ppl when they ask me why i play/watch RL.
"And that is when I started bumping." Lolololol🤣
rocket league history with rizzo is now my favorite
