dude!!! NEVER...NEVER...EVER START UR BOAT UP. WITH THE OUTDRIVE UP. NEVER.. there is a drive shaft that goes into the back of the engine flywheel. to the outdrive. that turns all the time no matter if you got the boat in neutral or in gear the drive shaft always turns. when you have the outdrive up. You put the drive shaft and the universal joints at the outdrive in a really bad bind... when you start your boat up always put the outdrive down just about to the ground don't let it touch the ground. that way the drive shaft is straight and is not in a bind. just trying to help you out. You will rip the drive shaft universals out and tear up your outdrive
