Wonderful, a very emotional ceremony, and a great job by you MBE!! Admiration to all the members involved in their service for own country, British and Belgian. Thanks to SDM Gareth Chambers and Band, impeccable in every events, and for beautiful music. Very very great❤ Grateful for posting the video, Grazie❤
Well, that was a pleasant surprise. Thank you. The music even sounded Belgian. Very well done the band and of course, SDM Chambers didn't put a foot wrong. His style sets a real example. I like the selection of music.
What a great job, considering this only took place today. Beautifully shot, all the music titled and time-stamped! Amazing, and always interesting to see different weapons and drill. Thank you for posting, J
Thank you very much for your kind comments on the production of the video I always strive for perfection on the things you note! It was great to seem some unusual uniforms in London alongside the drill and weapons on parade.
@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere Ter plaatse was er een 15tal jaren geleden hele mooie Britse parade, men zou durven hopen(toen) te Oudenaarde, welke nu 't groots van Vlaanderen wil zijn; men moet nog wat rijpen . Thank You very match. Goodbye
This is a great video. It gives we armchair viewers a chance to witness this reverent service from afar, the sacrifices of those who gave their all should never be forgotten. All the participants here showed great pride in taking part in the solemn act of remembrance. Others have already praised our exemplary Senior Drum Major who once again gives a masterclass of his role in leading the band. Their drill and training is always evident but here at 21:55 is a good example of part of it and also SDM Chambers skills. Thank you for making and sharing this video👍
No problem at all Ann, I am pleased you enjoyed the event and could witness it from home! There was some great musical mace drill on display during this parade by the Senior Drum Major you are correct!
Thanks for the video. Did not know what time it was on but suspected it was today. Got a prescription to collect at boots so that was my Saturday morning. LSO a bit further up this afternoon.
Thank you for great footage of an important act of remembrance. Just btw the Solemn Melody is the hymn “O Valiant Hearts” (music by Rev. Charles Harris), with beautifully poignant words by Sir John Stanhope Arkwright.
No problem at all, thank you for the comment! Yes, that is the hymn used to form this arrangement. The musicians were playing from the march cards used at the annual National Act of Remembrance in November where that arrangement of the hymn is titled 'Solemn Melody' just like the arrangement Elgar's Enigma Variations is just titled 'Nimrod', hence I chose to use these titles in the video. I hope you find this interesting.
Good job by the GG band, but some execrable marching by some British units in the parade! And repeated playing of the March of the Royal Military Academy got a bit tedious, as it's not the best of marches!
@@ianbarratt7320 Some of the units at the rear appeared to be British units taking part in the parade. The Belgian units in the front half of the parade were very smart.

Thanks very much as always for your kind comments! The band did a great job on the performance of some unusual music to their your regular repertoire!

As always Dsm Chambers leads an impeccable marching band ,fantastic❤❤

That performance of Nimrod is out of this world.
Gets you every time😢
Thank you UK for not forgetting the past.
Thanks for posting this. They sounded superb
No worries at all, thank you for the comment! Yes, the band sounded great!
How smartly turned out the Belgian troops are ❤
Yes they looked very smart and fit looking. Proper troopers.

@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere great- I’ve learnt a little more today! Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Nice video!
Thanks MVV, much appreciated!
Makes you feel pride in our country. when negativity is all we hear
Good to see the Grens in six ranks and all seem to be Grenadiers too. Saxophones not wearing bayonets seemed a little strange?
Saxophonists within the bands of the Household Division have not worn bayonets since April of this year. Dress regulations were updated at this point.

They were Belgian units

Hard to explain but that Academy March, played at the slower speed than normal, even sounded Belgian! It made a change.

Why does the clarinet player, (ive seen him in other videos too) is the only one wearing shades lol
Good band but marching needs work a little out of step at parts
Well said.@vickyRoyalHistory
Le rythme des pas belges n'est pas le même que le rythme britannique. Cela se voit, les musiciens ont du mal. Bel effort quand même
I'm sure you are meant to keep in time with the music rather than the music keep in time with you🤦♂️.
