58:14 there is a flaw in C’s logic here. When you focus on pass/fail you can reward poor decisions. The operation and the “show your work” leads to better long term results.
His point and yours are both right. There are times when the focus should not be on partial credit, but in everything you do, you'll need to evaluate your work, not to get some credit, but to learn your lessons and grow 🙂
Great episode! Grateful for you all!
Can’t wait for next week for the full explanation.
I am a little confused. I understand how you no longer get partial credit. But I don’t understand how you can do everything right and when something goes wrong it’s chalked up as still your fault. In the example of partial credit you didn’t do everything right you did a few or most things right but not everything. If you did everything right you get that answer completely correct.
In the example with the young lady it sounds like she did a lot right but not everything right.
I know you can do everything right and things can still go wrong. But to me, although you have a responsibility to prepare and make sure you do the best you can, when you have done that, you take responsibility to try and fix it but it’s not your fault it went wrong. Things just happen.
It’s like you got all the answers right in the test but your teachers dog ate them all so you have to retake it.
Maybe I am missing the point or maybe it is semantics, which is why I cannot wait for next week to understand! Thanks again for what y’all do!
