Thank you so much. The silver screws made me want to give up. I might have spent 3 full minutes turning one of them and was about to give up until I saw your video. Thank you so much.
Oh my God you're a savior. I truly thought the tiny silver screws well screwed. This is the only place on the internet with the information that they need to be pulled put thank you thank you thank you
S+ tier video! I dropped these lens half a year ago, and found out that this was the only broken part but didn't know how to remove the silver screws, and all the other tutorials skip that part! I'm glad that this part is separate from all the innards, and it's thanks to this video!
Thank you for this video it helped me a lot, I bought one of these preowned for 79 euros and there were a few specs of dust inside so with the help of your video I got them out and it’s basically brand new 😄
WARNING: Those pins with the phillips head are eccentric, when they are turned they tilt the lens very slightly. I assume they are used to adjust the exact position of the lens to make it perfectly perpendicular to the rest of the assembly. If you don't put them back exactly like they came out you will mess up your lens focus. Mark all three pins, mark their orientation and the installation location on the lens. Mark the lens to tube location so you put it back together exactly how it was before taking it apart. I turned the screws when reassembling because another youtube video showed that was how to put them back. When I turned them, I saw the edge of the lens moving up and down every half turn and I knew I was in trouble. Instead of prying them out with a screw driver, use needle nose pliers to pull them out. Now I'm searching to find out how to realign the lens with the eccentric pins. Best to know what you are doing before doing anything. Easy to take apart, easy to put back together and easy to mess up your lens alignment and focus because you don't know what you are doing. Thank you but your video fails to address the alignment issue and the need to either know how to adjust it correctly or put it back together exactly like it was before disassembly. My mistake is costing me $275 for a new lens that will focus correctly.
This is an important warning. I didn't read it before disassembling my lens. But luckily the focus of my lens in ok. I made a test before closing the last lid, to see if I would need to turn the screws. I've noticed none of my screws were making the lens go up (yes, they can make the lens go up or down just a tiny bit). So I suppose that should be the "normal" position.
Following this, I’ve been able to clean my front element. He’s right about the second set of screws! It seems counterintuitive but it’s right! I wish I could reach in and clean the inside of the rear element this way..!
Thanks, to stop the fungus to come back, after the cleaning, put the lens in a closed box with a drop of formaldehyde (not on the lens but on a paper) for >1h and the remaining fungus will be killed forever.

The pins in this lens are NOT eccentric. They’re just straight pins.
