Super stoked to see the Barbarian at last, but here's hoping that the rumored more muscular bodytype is coming. This barbarian here looks like he has a maximum strength of 14, y'know? Give us that Halsin body for those of us who want to cast fist.
Thats totally up to the race though. I mean at least his face.

I may be a outlier, but I like when the Barb is skinny, I think that is cooler when it is more about the rage than the muscles.
@@toribiogubert7729 Somebody get's it atleast :) rage is about going absolute mental ape shit "que in Viking berserkers" and just shredding the frontline while not caring about your own well being. I do agree a more muscular barb would make sense for say bear totem barb, but else they are pretty much nailing the mad raging barb aesthetics

Love that frenzy barb doesnt give exhaustion anymore. it's one of my favorite subclassed but that made it feel aweful to play. Glad to see it got the love it deserves.
Pretty simple fix. Just add that they don't feel the effects of exhaustion while raging, and make them resistant to psychic damage. You can also add that all levels of exhaustion they take from raging is cured by a long rest. These changes maintain the feel of the original archetype, but cause less issues long term.
@@Lurklen Yeah but everything is a simple fix if you just completely ignore the rules. Im still waiting for WotC to realize that the subclass sucks and fix it like they did the ranger. Also, why the psychic damage resistance? Seems unrelated.
@@Lurklen thought exhaustion comes after rage ends. Doesnt make sense to get it on rage cast.
While I do agree it is a heavy penalty, and feels off due to other classes getting features that are arguably better for less or no cost; having a point or two of exhaustion isn't *that* bad, especially in context or management.
@@chainer8686 it is terrible. Even 1 point is disadvantage on all ability checks. Gaining exhaustion also means it gets 1 use a day since only 1 point of exhaustion is removed per long rest. Anything more than once a day and you’re progressing yourself towards being useless. At 2 stacks you move 15 ft a round, at 3 stacks you gain permanent attack disadvantage, and then you die at 6. And like you said, other subclasses get BETTER stuff for free. The zealot barb has higher damage and higher survivability all for free.
That's the barbarian solution for everything, hit someone with some else 😅🤣🤣 absolutely loved that, made my day

Okay, whoever it was at Larian that decided to let us play as the mighty Viking King Ragnar Lodbrok was an absolute madlad genius! Gods, I'm going to love this patch so much!

The scream of rage sounds... weird in all honesty. It's like the kind of rage scream you do when you're roleplaying but you're too embarrassed to fully commit to it.
Still, looks like a lot of fun
Yeah I also thought it sounded weird in this trailer. But in the actual game both male and female barbarian roars that I heard sounded f*cking AWESOME!

Whole different story in-game.
The in-game roars are actually terrifying.
A neat detail from the background of the panel from hell:
A spilled tankard with the symbol vegvisir, an old nordic symbol for protecting travellers/the lost, called the viking compass, to guide people home safely.
Berserker is also old nordic, meaning ones who fights in a trance like rage.
Vegvisir lead the berserkers home, to BG3.
Larian never adds these details without thinking about them, and it's really ocol.
In some curious way, i really like the battle cry and the rage, its feel like he somewhat dont like to be completely like that, like he is being forced to become a monster, and thats a cool way to see a barbarian, someone who have to become death even if he dont want it

My God, this has brought Baldur's Gate to a new kind of life. Such a long wait it's been but that wait looks to be TOTALLY worth it. Thank you, Larian, for bringing back the world of Baldur's Gate.
Curious they didnt release big bodies with this. Also waiting on some basic races like half orc and dragonborn. Fingers crossed! Looks great!
Since they now are hoping for a 2023 launch date I expect a couple more patches before that. Hopefully some more races and classes.

@@adamekcar they've confirmed that no more races will be released before the full game is out, so races and body types will probably be a full release thing
@@TheSteamSnake Yeah it doesn't feel right having Barbarian and not Half-Orc.
There are some camera bugs for the big body type, I think that's why they didn't release it in this patch
@Larian Studios This game needs proper clothing simulation. It has such great detailed character models and then you have a part of your tunic skirt sticking to your hip and bending in weird fashion, kind of kills the whole effort with the realism of the characters for me. I don't know if the engine can simulate that itself but there are some good solutions for this these days, I hope you can implement it at some point, everything else looks top notch.

I can't wait to hear when this gets it's local split screen coop. Something that made Divinity more stellar than it already was. I think there's a significant untapped market of people who could get turned on to gaming because of games like this that wouldn't be otherwise. Theres a significant population of people now who are now fans of comics and fantasy stories who weren't before due to films like the marvel cinematic universe and shows like game of thrones. Videogames today tell similarly entertaining stories with cinematic effects, but exclude that said population of people due to the learning curve that comes from adapting to game controller schemes and reaction times. Baldurs Gate 3 is potentially a perfect solution to this issue due to being a turn based strategy game, which gives players time to learn the gaming controls and mechanics without the discouraging failure that often comes with most games. And it has the cinematic immersion that divinity didn't have. If it carries a split screen option as divinity did, it will provide the opportunity for gamers to walk the gameplay through with friends and family who wouldn't have had interest to play it otherwise, and also would provide for a terrific mutual immersive experience to share with close loved ones as well. A lot of games typically in the split screen market are starting to phase splt screen to pursue either an explicitly online or explicitly single player experience. It would be a sorely missed opportunity if this did the same 🤞

Finally a rage skill that triggers animations and skills that realy give a rage feeling. not only "frenzy", attack speed buff andmore dmg but the looks, the vibe! Great!

Yeah the video looked a little weird with a little human, woulda been better with a half orc.
I love half orc barbs, I always dm for my group and I'll never forget how my lvl4 party had to escape a beholder in one of the official adventures for 5e, one of them was grabbed by one of the lair actions of the beholder and the half orc bear totem barb who was almost in the clear came back for his party member and tanked the beholders beams in order to release his friend, i was so sad when i said, the desintegration beams turns you to dust, but then the player corrected me and said that as a half orc he survived with 1 hp and then he proceeded to release his friend and both managed to escape the beholder. To this day one of favorite momments playing dnd it was like something out of a movie XD

@@Solitude507 It would be better if they focused more on finishing the game rather than slotting in small updates and spending the time to make them work in the somewhat unstable Early Access version. It's getting close to two years since Early Access began

Lizardfolk aren't PHB material, so I wouldn't count on them being added. We do still need Dragonborn, Half-Orcs and Gnomes though.

My biggest hopes were level 5 and Paladin but while I've always been "meh" about Barbarians, the amount of polish from patch 6 to 7 has me floored. That new UI lookin clean af.
i always thought classes like fighter and barbarian were basic and lame, but seeing how well you've brought them to life here is changing my mind. you can really feel the rage and energy in it's animations and sound. great job

The barbarian needs the ability to activate reckless attacks as a passive so they just always do it unless I specifically choose not to. Also, right now you cant use reckless attack with berzerker extra attack.

Having a real problem with dealing with the first one of these bastards in the first dungeon, after the crash. They've done a good job making them a pain in the ass to deal with when berserking!

I felt the same way initially but after playing with it in game I really enjoy it.

I don't have bg3 yet but if character creation does not have "mascularity" slider, it needs one for the barbarian.

Well technically centaurs are probably considered quadrapeds too so arguably they are the strongest race in the game if we go by push/shove/lift logic too but- nevermind. Centaurs sound like they would be a logistical nightmare to try and add into this game though.
At this rate I fear Paladin will be the last class we get
