So basically the idea is to make a power point presentation? That's pretty smart. It's super easy to make and organize and it'll be easy for the judges to read. My old method was to literally just have a bunch of progress photos lumped together. No explanation or anything, not even in order lol. I can't wait to make fancy show books for my new costumes!
Thank you so much for this! I have been making progress books ever since I started competing and was struggling on how to upgrade them. You really came in clutch! ❤️
Late to the party, but I just registered for my very first masquerade and was surprised to see "progress book" in the application, like what is that?! Your video helped so much in explaining the components and providing examples. Plus, I love your WBNW Hanamaru (one of my favs from Aqours!!)
Lovely video tutorial. As a long time cosplayer I always appreciate all the tips and tricks you share with the community. I love the idea of using Canva to make booklets. I have heard about the program before but never really used.
Thank you so much for making this!! I'm in the middle of making a progress book for my Cure Star cosplay from Star Twinkle Pretty Cure and this was super-helpful!!
I've been cosplaying and entering contests for years but had no idea that these kind of books were a thing. Do you find judges often have time to look through them, or is it more of a quick flip while you're giving your TLDR at prejudging? At the very least it looks like a fan way to log your own progress and process of a cosplay - I'll have to give it a shot!
I’d try to keep it 5-10 pages! Just show off the really exciting or interesting things and be sure to highlight new skills you learned! 💖 It can be hard to cut down but it’s worth it in the end! (:
