Looks like that older dude doesn't like the other guy even touching the decks. Constantly fiddles with controls even though the younger one has taken over.
I don't understand DJ duos, to be honest. The best DJs are able to cope with 4 decks simultaneously and then, you see these duos struggling to perform properly because they overlap each other. Your comment is totally true! At the end, two styles on the same 'cabin' (no matter how similar they are), is logical that one tries to impose his own.
Most DJs replay music someone else has made; they've lined up & stored the entire set, and the deck fiddling is just adding some bypass or envelope filters- of course they have to look like they are "doing something"
I watched the whole set and literally thought the same thing. I mean, this is actually quite a good set, but that older guy literally just tried to steal the limelight the whole set. The funniest thing is, you can tell the set is pre recorded. They actually don’t mix anything. So even if the younger guy goes on the decks, he’s just “pretending” but the older guy won’t even let him pretend haha. That’s more than likely why these guys don’t exist anymore. That older guy did quite a good job of coming across like a dick. And it’s a shame, because based off the actual music, I feel there is something there with this duo. This is a really good set. But then again, looking at the anjunabeats/deep roster, there is artists that can do this, but better. It’s a cut throat game.
