Mini split is one of the best and safest to leave unattended

The unit heats up fast and is super quiet. It looks fancy ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxl8Od2BvnGbn1ffwqsuFXW0QnmcZgMiVY and can be kept in the living room. It gets hot within a split second of turning on the unit. The build quality is exceptionally good and is safe to be around kids and pets. This one is super quiet and can be kept on while in office meetings, my wife loved it. It shows the temperature right on the unit which is very useful and adding a rotating feature helps to heat up the surrounding, so other people will not fight with you for heat. It is right as described in the description..!! Definitely recommend!!

Any easy way/products to add "insulation" to the exterior of the drywall?

Some insurance company’s will not cover garage with open flame heaters /wood stoves . I was considering until I checked this out

Good list. I'm looking for a solution to just keep my garage at around 55 degrees or higher in the winter for the benefit of my cars and any chemicals stored in the garage that can be degraded by freezing temps. I was considering just getting a couple of wall-mounted infrared heaters. The key is I need something that can run continuously to keep the temperature constant and won't let it drop below freezing. Would the infrared heaters be a viable option? My garage is mostly insulated and I just insulated my garage doors.

I would think a couple of wall mounted infrared heaters will work like you said

Great list! I’m considering many of these options, thinking a propane heater could be a quick-ish way to warm the garage, then shut it off and maintain a warmer Carbon Monoxide-free area near the workbench while working with electric. Mini-split is appealing, but I do already have a boiler system for the house, so adding a loop of hydronic in-floor heating on the system is a long-term goal, especially because I think the concrete floor of our garage will need to be replaced in the next 5-10 years anyway.

Wood burning stoves in detached structures are frowned upon by home insurance companies.
They will not pay off on a claim or more than likely cancel your policy.
Check into that before burning wood.

Why not put the heating coils in the walls?

Good stuff; I just purchased a house with a detached 40×30 "workshop". I'm using your #3 "woodstove" to heat it and it's great. I've been thinking of ways to cool it in the summer so I'll check-out that video also. I'm trying to turn it into a combination of "Man Cave", "Fitness Center" "Small Workshop" & "Entertainment Area". Once I get the cooling issue figured out, it's on to the "Surround Sound System". Thanks for sharing!

I have a wood stove and half a dozen two pipe cast iron radiators. How can I turn it into a steam boiler for my shop?
