The biggest problem with this is it’s not about a “double standard”, it’s actually about having no standard at all.
Actually, ideology is the one standard. But ideology is the lowest of standards.
Certainly there’s no standard policy for tenure and anyone who thinks it’s due to them is literally “entitled.” This is the biggest honor you can receive as a professor, it means you literally cannot be fired, and I would guess it has never, ever, been handed out to a brand new hire.

I would assume that having been admitted to Harvard, all students will have proved their ability for critical thinking and should be free to make up their own minds. They are not children and they don't have to be "protected" from ANYBODY'S ideas.

Somewhere along the line it was decided people of MENA descent are just “white”… so I personally deal with discrimination, and the country where I live essentially says; “that can’t be true,” because on paper I’m *white* … honestly especially since the war on terror, I’ve grown up in a convoluted nightmare where every race and creed discriminated against me in the US, but it’s gone totally unnoticed, and I just never get a break… it’s really messed up, and I’ve been thinking about suing for the right to have my identity recognized. There’s some real issues in this country…
