Just a quick question, how do you keep track of your fonts so that you can easily do a lookup and choose when you want to start your next project ?????
I hate to be pedantic, but when sans serif fonts are “slanted”, they are not called italics, they are properly called “oblique”. The word “italic” should only be used for cursive typefaces, based on calligraphic fonts from the serif family, excluding slab serifs. Any sans serif font can be obliqued by skewing the vertical axis just a few degrees - typically 10-11°, but anywhere from ~5-15°. Making italics from serif fonts is definitely not just a skewed version of the Roman typeface, though some do exist, they are quite ugly. Sorry to interrupt, but I learned typography fifty years ago from artists and craftsman who grew up with hot and cold metal type and who knew their craft and history far better than what is being taught today.
The major thing I look for when choosing a typeface for my websites is if it supports Central European languages (namely Czech). If it doesn't, it's not much useful typeface for me. I don't care if it looks nice, I actually need it to support my language.
Hey Satori, i'm watching your videos for quite a bit now and i was always wondering where do you find all of your wonderful backgrounds ? Or how do you make them ? I would realy appreciate a video on that. Thanks a lot for your content, always realy good !
@@SatoriGraphics I meant for example at 0:12 where you present "Humane" there is a background video which i found pretty cool, and i was wondering where you find all of these :D
Awesome video! Question though, when it comes to understanding typeface attributes like modernity, versatility, seriousness etc. is there a specific book/video/website you recommend to learn to distinguish better these qualities or is this something more or less subjective in design? For example, yeah usually slimmer fonts are linked with elegance/luxuriousness but sometimes I think a font looks more playful but another person perceives it as very serious and that at times confuses me lol.
Hi Sol. Well it's a bit of both, it is somewhat subjective but also there are elements of logic and education to it. I suggest Google searching typeface psychology and diving into that
Hi Satori, Thank you for featuring Humane. I see that you have placed BE Fonts link in your description. As a designer who designed this font, I would have appreciated it if you had placed my Behance or Gumroad link to download the font. However, I appreciate the way you explained the usage of Humane, it was great, and I wish you luck with your future work. Best, Rajesh
Studies show that those "dyslexia friendly' fonts don't really have an impact. Just an fyi so you don't worry overmuch. There are a lot of other ways to help people who have reading challenges besides the font (although there are definitely fonts that are generally more readable ('body' fonts)).
Hi great information. I have a question if you don't mind. In the video you showed a bar type graph showing different attributes of the font ie. seriousness, modernity etc. Is this a program or webpage that show these attributes or is this created by you with your expertise on the subject? Thanks
That can be tough. You need to have a proof of skill in your passionate field, so you can get jobs in that sector. Most of us start designing things we don't want to gain experience and proof of skill
In university and college, I would use it on everything (like an idiot). It has a time and a place like every typeface. There isn't a font or typeface that can work on every design. Helvetica is nice though
IMO, it has a limited use tbh.. :') Each typefaces has its own use, be it eligibility, evoking a certain vibe, or simply just usable for theme parks (I'm looking at you Letraset's Papyrus) But Helvetica is a good starting point to dive into the iceberg of typeface design tho.. ;)
I am the worst absolutely worst,.when it comes to choosing fonts! If what I'm working on is the Titanic I always seem to use a font that should be called bold Iceberg
Thanks again my greatest designer ....Is there any logo project professional presentation template you recommend , free or paid doesn't matter...I mean the pdf file that describe the logo specifications, the story , the color plate and so on...
if you have no clue how to associate your font with your design, then you should quit. its not for you, if you dont have a design eye you are just wasting your time
@@SatoriGraphics Huh...? So you make videos about design without any quality control? Maybe you should stop using editors you find on Fiverr.. God, I sound like a troll! 🤦🏼♂
As of this video, santori has made me download over 200 fonts in my library that i dont use 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's a big big shame lol

Readymag looks very interesting. Nice to have a promotion for a product which I'm pleased to have been introduced to!
Yeah it is pretty unique! I only ever place brands or entities on my channel that I believe in and or use myself 👍
The HUMANE is reminding me of a fashion brand. Very nice!
enjoy your weekend as always
So few great narrow fonts. Fantastic!
Also like Bebas and Oswald :)
Sir you are the king of color paring..

yep, I've changed my style for this channel here onwards 👍
MERSAD is very similar to GSK precision which is a font created specifically for GSK - the global Pharma company
well spotted!
These type of videos are always helpful ✌️
Happy to hear it man

good point.
any good references on that? would nice some fresh fonts, thnx..
I was waiting for another one of these videos
Hopefully longer ones to come with more fonts. And taking suggestions too of course

Of all 100s of fonts I’ve tried, bahnschrift has and probably always will be my favorite.
Nice to see the on-camera inserts. Is that new?
Kind of.. I've been doing it for a couple of months or so. You can check through my recent videos on my homepage 👍

Satory u are a dream that became true.
YOu are amazingly talented and you appear to be a very calm and friendly person. Would love to meet you someday, bro. :)
Satori can you tell me how you edits your videos..... Your animations and edits are awesome🧡
I edit them, and often have co-editors. We use After Effects and Davinci Resolve
For bodies of texts, I try to use Dyslexia friendly fonts as much as possible.
Think you can cover the subject in the future? I love your insights.
There is one typeface that is meant to be helpful for that, try this video ua-cam.com/video/4kWRlZIcy8w/v-deo.html

Thanks Mate!
No problem:D
Hey dude what microphone is that you're using?
It's the HyperX Quad Cast, great value for money

Slowly but surely yeah, thanks for noticing :P
I've not seen a serif YT username before, I don't think so anyway!
@@SatoriGraphics I love your content, truly, and yes, my username is a serif one ♡ thanks for noticing too
I usually use:
Mango Grotesque
Lemon Milk
Poppins
Playfair
Monserrat
I think I've shown most of those in past videos :P
This Humane remember me that Oswald font
Yes it's quite a similar typeface 👍
Thank you.
Welcome!
Nice update 👍
Glad you like it
I will try Font # 2,3,4
Thanks you looks good
No problem 👍
Humane looks quite like Morganite
It looks like quite a few typefaces 👍
I need your advice which best font for brand guideline & presentation to use for
Humane installed on my PC as Mango Grotesque lol, I was losing my mind wondering why it wasn't showing up in my apps
But, calibri, bebas kai, bloomer demo and lobster still my favorite
make a video on behance for lending some views on project. There is biggest problem that no one find and reach to our profile. So any tips!

Hi there.
Yeah that was my opinion. I would say they are more or less accurate, but may be a bit off on one or two
hey there can anyone tell me what does loudness mean
Sure. It's how impacting and attention grabbing a typeface is. Think of ones like Impact or Oswald

is this a trick video? I thought every font was better than Comic Sans...🤔
You even choose the right voice for this video.
I don't get it, they all look very similar... How anyone can get excited about a font is quite the mystery.

Leiko is hideous. _One_ weight? Seriously? Hard pass.
But your design mockups suck! they are crooked and nowhere near decently placed… Yes. You can put shapes together. But that’s about it. Hmpf!
I didn't edit this video, but thanks for the feedback

Fonts are a crutch.
Fonts are essential. Typeface psychology is not to be understated
your „seriousness“ category is little confusing 🙃 why is leiko for u a 9 in seriousness… it’s more experimental und unusual as serious in my opinion.
Thank you!
No worries :)
