    I always enjoy your videos... this stuff is excellent as always.
    What is the sound source of audio demo 4? Sounds fantastic!

      From what I remember, There's a channel of the HDMKIII going through the BLMKIII cross modulating between VCA channels of the DAMKII. The other input through the DAMKII is a crossfade of the PHMKII. I lost my notes for this one.

    This thing is killer! Worth it for the comb filter alone. What was the audio source of the first Demo? Love the chip tune vibe. Looking at grabbing one of these to process my Akemies Castle. How do you like it processing Analogue VCOs? Thanks for the video!

      The first demo 1 : The audio is from Contra stage 1 on the NES. I used the NES Audio player called Meridian Advance. There I could isolate each track and feed each one to both Bionic Lesters. here's the tune

      @@robotopsyrobotopsy6486 I bought one, beginning to see some really cool possibilities! I recently bought a case and a couple modules after months of research, been watching your videos and am really drawn to the character of IME modules. Lester is a must but I'm torn between getting the piston honda mk3 or the hertz donut mk3. Obviously going to acquire them all at some point but gotta start with one

      @@illest4realest521 It all depends.... they're both different type of synthesis. I think the HDMKIII is more versatile than the PHMKIII.... but the PHMKIII got 2 oscillators into the module. the HDMKIII got one main and 2 operators but the operators have less controls. FM synthesis can be too complex for some, but once you nailed it, I think the HD MKIII is more rewarding.

      @@robotopsyrobotopsy6486 I see, thanks for the insight! You seem to have a little of everything in addition to basically every module by Harvestman/IME, I've seen a maths and a few MI and others I've yet to even learn about. But it makes me wonder how your modular journey began, with such a big system I was instantly curious where it all began. Your demonstrations are extremely classy 👌

    Hey there, always happy i can hear your mangling exactly in the way i want to eheheh!

      @@robotopsyrobotopsy6486 Eheheheh yes! If i had two of them it would be something i would try for sure! And i don't know if you have a module with an 'all pass' filter behaviour, but would be nice to try a chain adding the two BLMK3 and a couple of clean digital delays controlled by an envelope follower of the audio content used to feed this chain, multing the envfol to the delaytime/feedback/dry-wet in .. nice reverberations could happen, let me know!!

    Mr roboto, in the fm demo, what exactly is fming what? I cant see any cables going into the BLs input, but i cant see to well in that cable mess.
    What is making those pigsounds? I read somewhere that the BL cant take audiorate fm too well. Is it the HD thats fmed by the PH, and the BL is filtering the PH?
    Thanks.
    It sounds nice, but has to take audiorate fm like a champ

      Hi Geir S ... I sure have not provide much details in this video and sorry for that. In the Filtered FM patch. We hear the audio from the Hertz Donut MKIII. The audio signal from the Piston Honda MKIII is going to the Bionic Lester MKIII(blue cable) before going to the external FM input of the Hertz Donut MKIII(purple cable). This way, we can isolate which frequency will affect the signal. at 18:15 I'm sending the hertz donut's signal to another Bionic Lester ... just messing up with some parameters of the BLMKIII.
      I like to use a filter between the source and the FM input .... thanx for asking.

      Thanks for the answer.
      One more question:
      Do you, in your opinion, feel the BL to be good at modulating at audio rates, or do you find it struggeling to keep up with fast cv signals?

    • @robotopsyrobotopsy6486
      @robotopsyrobotopsy6486  4 роки тому +3

      @@Taketaketak A clear response is : No. But I dont mind that because I got other Filter unit that does this well. The MKIII has an impressive sonic range and will appreciate LFOs. But if you're into FM synthesis with your filter than I must say this is not your guy. Seems like every Harvestman or ( IME ) modules do things differently, the bionic Lester MKIII is insane enough for me to have 2 units in studio.
      But the First version of the Bionic Lester does it pretty well. It's in fact another crazy unique module.

    what delay/verb in the Contra demo (1st pattern)?

    • @robotopsyrobotopsy6486
      @robotopsyrobotopsy6486  4 роки тому +3

      If you mean the echoing resonance resemblance to a reverb at 3:56..... then it's the Bionic Lester MKIII. I recorded each track of the original game seperatly and feed to each filters of both bionic lester MKIII. With some adjustments when the filter is in Comb mode you'll get this kind of result. So what you hear is only the waves through the Bionic Lester no EQ !!!

EDIT: I'm literally going to be buying this module (hopefully in 2020) for the resonant delay timbre achieved with the comb filter, for this feature alone. That's how much I love the sound/that particular effect.
