I think the Maw's purpose was different before the game started. According to the website when you click on the Lady's quarters it states "If the Maw had a heart it would have lived here." The Maw is a dark place of order in a world of morbid chaos, but why? I think the Maw was originally suppose to be some kind of safe haven for children or maybe the it was a prison but used to keep these being of chaos locked away. I also think the Lady isn't the first "being" to run the Maw either. My theory is the Maw controlled by the Gnomes and something their "First Leader" until the Lady used her powers to take control of the Maw. (Almost exactly how Six took over) So now the Lady re purposes this place of order to fuel her and her family's dark intentions. The Lady wants to cure the world's chaos by trapping and killing it in her domain, but her family saw this and tried to intervene and failed. (I'm only guessing she has a family from the painting of her and 4 other figures in the final chapter) The Granny is the Lady's mother who was tossed down into the darkest depths of the Maw to wither away and no longer be a concern. The Chiefs feed her the scraps from their feasts. The Janitor collected most of her belongings simply to clean the mess but instead of destroying them he kept them. (The dolls in his chambers at the end of Chapter 2 were probably made by the Granny before the betrayal) He probably kept them because the Granny probably showed him affection which the outside world shunned from him. The Granny was probably the only source of hope and positive energy in the entire ship, but like Six her inner rage and darkness slowly consumed her. Unlike Six the Granny tries to hold onto her kind nature but overall she's just as monstrous as the new owner of the Maw. About the raincoat, In page 5 of the little nightmares comic, the world outside the maw is raining heavily, and Six is wearing the yellow raincoat. After all, the official website says that "She belongs elsewhere", suggesting that she lives in the city. Strangely, the grotesque "adult humans" in the raining city do not seem to care at all about the rain, possibly indicating that they are not really human?
You can't find that term for the Maw because that's how I see it so I made the term up. The city where Six came from was raining heavily when the Ferryman found her. I actually had a theory that the children are not children but another species all together. I imagine it goes like this. There are 2 races in the world, the larger Gluttons and the smaller littons. (pronounced lit-tons) The Gluttons have shown they are the superior race by making the littons be their servants and even are eaten as a delicacy. The littons are sometimes born with some form of dark powers and if given the chance the littons can grow to a full sized adult, but seeing that is such a rare occasion. The Lady is an adult Litton and the twin chiefs are Gluttons. This could be wrong but I imagine it kinda works like that

But it does grab my attention that you mention two different races because six seems to be extraordinary in the way that the more six eats the more acquired her taste becomes, her hunger is stronger and more fierce like gluttons unlike RK who if you noticed never got hungry throughout the dlc and if he's the one who gave six bread in the beginning if he knew about her hunger and also why would he give food away unless he doesn't get hungry which can be confirmed in the next dlc if that character does not suffer from hunger pangs. Which would mean Six may be a byproduct of a glutton and a litton if the whole two races is true.
Interesting theory, but I'd suggest going over the Little Nightmares Comics as well since they provide some important details about the lore of the game. Things such as Six knowing what the outside world is like and how it seems to always be raining outside (which would explain her raincoat) as well as Six not being the only kid with a coloured jacket on the Maw and the others' reaction to her when they see her. Also, there's been some datamine on the game's files and you can get some nice theories just by analysing the kids' drawing alone, the name they use to refer to the Lady, the importance of masks or the puppet-like figure on the paintings. Oh and one last thing: the monster in this DLC is called the Granny who seems to live in the Depths - Unlike the Guests, she has a whole floor to herself, with comodities no one else seems to have (except for the Lady herself) and she is even fed fish parts periodically. Am pretty sure the runaway girl was killed by the slug you see after you go through the boards. This is because you can see a ink trail leading away from the flashlight and two hand prints on the board that suggest the girl was trying to stop the slug from dragging her away, but it did, and dragged her through the boards and ate her. Leaving only her flashlight left. Also that monster is the "granny" so it's not a him its a she, but that's just me being picky.
Yeah, and this has been bugging me! If his storyline is before Six', some things don't add up completely. At the end of his story, he's immediately taken away by the Janitor, and you see Six trapped in that one cage. BUT, in Six' story when she escapes from her cage, after the cage of the RK is being taken away, you see someone else already being captured in the other cage that she uses to get to the handle/lever to open the door. While in the story of the RK that cage is empty.. that's what I don't understand..

Wait, I just re-watched the "Little Nightmare: The Story You Never Knew" and I realized that Runaway Kid looks a lot like the silhouette that tosses food to Six from the cafeteria in the original game. I could be wrong, but just saying that the silhouette and RK look very alike, enough to appear like the same person in a way. Just a thought

@Treesicle I've always thought of them as puppets and the Lady is actually a witch feeding off the darker sins of the guests and she makes these puppets put the skin of former guests on to make them appear more "human". Its why they're skin seems so exaggerated, also why noodle arms or Mr.tickles or the Janitor doesn't bleed when you lop off his arms, it also explains why Mr.tickles face looks all melted and there's nothing but what looks like a mannequin head underneath. It also explains why chef garbage pail kid is able to scratch under his "face" and why you find him coming up that elevator in the guests quarters. He's killing the guests or at least cleaning up the mess the lady has made to feed it back to the new guests that come to the maw.
in the battle between six and the masked woman right as she is destroyed you see many wooden manikins as the room is briefly lit up, also could there be other children trying to escape the maw in the same timeline? maybe thats the next chapter
I think the room that Six goes through is the same one that RK likes in. Playing the main game, going through the room, you can actually see a kid start moving at the edge of the screen. Also note that the crib next to RK's has a doll/toy in the same position it was in the main game. The only real difference is that, in the main game, there is no overhead light on.
The runaway kid's story actually happens at the same time, if not a bit after six's beginning. If six stays, in the main story, in the nursery for long enough, a kid, which is in the exact same spot as the runaway kid in when they wake up, gets up and out of bed.
the ending of this dlc almost made me cry it is the first game makes me experience that sad feeling + the enging of the part 2 too i had to wtach them both in only 2 days i cant stop thinking about that
I think Six is related to the boy. The boy was always in contact with water and owned the coat and gave it to Six before they were taken away from each other. The yellow coat gave Six the power to get the Pointed head creatures to like her, even though it belonged to RK. Six gained their mother's powers and escaped, fully aware RK would escape as well, if he had not already been killed by Mr. Tickles. The granny was left in the water because she wanted to save the kids, and the lady didn't like that and threw her into "The depths" where the Granny became lonely, and wanted every chance she had, to mess around with the kids, hug them, play with them (granny things), unaware that the kids couldn't breath under water like her. One part of her wanted to eat the kids to not die of starvation, which is why she went so PHYSCO. RK is Six's brother (why?) because the Lady (not the granny) had every kid there, and named them all by their number. She stopped having the kids, and began kidnapping the rest of the children (So a small part of the children are all related). The kids have been there for so long, the only goal is to escape the maw. Six was possibly the youngest kid to be the Lady's child (sense all the rest may be dead), leaving RK and Six the only siblings left alive. The leeches tag on sense they all are on a ship it is easy. The janitor keeps the kids from escaping, and dying (sense there is no proof he kills kids). He only take the kids who have already died and give them to the chef's, as simply as that. The kids that get as far as ending up in a cage, end up being slaughtered, because the lady sees them (sense she controls all the adults other then the geust) and forces the janitor to send them off, to be killed alive. RK saw Six in the cage and was clearly trying to get closer to her, they had been planning on escaping before. But then the janitor came in and took RK away, to be shipped off to the chefs. But hey! I heard that Six’s raincoat was given to them, perhaps the runaway kid is the one who gave the raincoat to Six? (Edit: I saw a play through of Very little nightmares and now I know that’s not the case) And at the end of the DLC there’s some kid in a raincoat in a cage near the runaway kid so maybe that’s six? Also I don’t really believe that anything is undead rather then slightly inhuman if that makes sense, nor do I think the child who set up the rope was six but maybe they are another kid who tried to run away, maybe they even attempted to help six in some way or the runaway kid in some way?
I have an idea. What if Six and the Runaway Kid had their "Nightmares" at the same time? Could this have been some kind of deliberately caused event that started both the adventures?
I feel like the Granny(the water monster) could be a guest that got thrown down there or escaped being consumed by the lady but because of the lack of food down there she began to starve giving her a skeletal and undead appearance and this also explains much like how the guests in the main game want to eat six why the granny wants to kill and presumably eat the runaway kid
I think when six was out of the ship the boat horn that she heard was the runaway kid it could be him because some how he could of escaped and went to the main room so he blow the horn for help and six could went back for him.six could went back for him because she killed all the ugly things so she might of thought that the horn was in side ,so some one might still be alive and that some one is the runaway kid so the next chapter must be she saves the run away kid.
Purgatory kind of makes sense, the Little Nightmares Website describes the Maw as 'the only place that makes sense' and really the only thing in life that makes sense is death since everything must end. I'm not sure is this is the exact answer to the story but it feels right for a metaphor or a representation.
It is theorized that six, the geisha (the main "baddy" of the game) and granny (the water demon) are related. That six is the geisha's daughter and granny is her granny. It's also said that granny was abandoned there and seemingly lives off of throw-away fish heads and tails. Also one theory says that all of the workers of the maw (the chefs and janitor) are actually puppets that wear skin on them to make themselves (pretty badly) human. But that theory is completely based off the fact that grannies tend to do stuff for their grandchildren and in one scene with the janitor there are a lot of puppets. So take that theory with a grain of salt. Also, rather interestingly janitor doesn't kill the children, rather just brings them back to their jail cells or into cages.
You didn't mention that part in the last room where the water person was relaxing in the chair in the back until you come into the room and went back into the water. A small point to make but it kinda solidifies the idea you have that it tries to enjoy simple things like furniture.
I think Arcane might be suffering from airplane sickness. I would say she has suffered from parent abuse (if your past theory is right) she feels like he is trapped in his own mind while trying to get away from her parents. It's very likely that the workers on the ship are indeed undead, but not the customers! On the official website you can see pictures of the characters and The Janitors "real face" is shown. The thing that covers his eyes, is skin. He wears skin wich isn't his! Like a mask. The cooks are also wearing masks, or skin. The Lady wears a Mask and the Grandma... I don't know exactly if she wears no skin, but It could be possible, that this is what the others look like underneath their masks. About that I got 2 ideas: 1: the Lady is pulling strings and the workers are like marionettes. Made of dead people Or 2: the workers on the ship are monsters (I mean, a different species than the customers) and to hide their real selfs, they take the skin of the customers to look like them. Because they are feeding their children with that, or something else. How did the children get on the Maw to begin with? They could be broth there, or there the kids of the monsters. Think about it, if these customers are broth there to be consumed by the Lady, why are they keeping the children? I believe that they not killing the children, the janitor never kills you or the children. And the cooks are only cooking big pieces of Flesh and leave the Bags with the children alone! Sure they kill or cook you, but I think they don't kill children normally. They are carrying for THEIR children, and kill the customers to feed the children. You know, the kid wich is being send to the cooks (as you can see in the main game) by the Janitor, is the girl that we see at the beginning of the first DLC! They look exactly the same! And the girl was killed by one "leage?" (Hope im spelling this right) So they didn't kill her, only out her corpse away! These fucking leages are everywhere and it could be that the kids are killed by them, or in others ways, and the Janitor picks them up and put them away. What do you think?
There's a theory that the crew of the ship (the janitor, the chefs, and the Granny) are all puppets like those unfinished dolls you see the Janitor has. smooth wooden dolls being controlled by the Lady and they wear the skin of the guests (the chefs scratch under it and the janitor's skin has run down on his face revealing his smooth doll head and covering his eyes.
That long haired girl holding the sheets is the one that helped Six to climb up! All the kids are escaping or trying to and some survive, others don't. Very little nightmares, the mobile game ends with a girl with long braided hair falling into the ocean and losing a jacket like the one six was wearing, and then another girl with hair like in the geishas picture (possibly six) climbs down a cliff towards the area she fell to. I'm curious on why the granny was peacefully relaxing in her chair not even near the tv area until RK falls into the water. Maybe she has some hatred for the little ones but also I don't think they are undead because at certain points in time while going through the cooks' chapter you can see him lift up his "face" and scratch underneath. Here's my theory for this DLC. 1. That midway into the DLC where The Runaway Kid is on it's own pathway THAT'S where six goes to her own pathway and continuous on forth while Runaway kid continuous his own, there's no prequel here with different times, it's on the same time but a little bit later (Sorry if it's confusing). To make it clearer When the runaway kid fell into the tube thingy and tried to catch up to the other runaway kid THAT'S where six story comes in and that's where the original game comes in. And that's why they never meet in the first DLC chapter. (Well not later in the game with (SPOILER) the boy got locked up with six locked up too beside him in the ending). 2. The girl getting eaten by those black leech things is (In my perspective) False. Yeah, if she did get eaten then why wasn't she got eaten like the way six and the runaway kid dies because of it? Being curled up like a snake stranglehold of sorts and just lying there and the leech sucking there life off and such. I don't know either if these other theories are legit but. Some say that the kids become leeches themselves, knowing how that works is beyond me. But knowing that they showed that in the first chapter of the DLC then it's bound to be explained in later chapters also. 3. And the granny like other weird creatures in the maw is a mystery with no backstory whatsoever. (This is the only thing i can say about her/it i know it's half-assed) 4.And my biggest thing i'm thinking about today. Is that the ending is when the runaway kid was captured by the janitor and we see six getting captured also, so everything they say about it being after the janitor died is completely false. And with that there's a strong possibility that the runaway kid is gonna be responsible for the other stuff that six or the player (you) missed. like locked doors, stuff that wasn't suppose to be there, or how it got there, etc. If i missed somethings then don't be afraid to reply.

The woman who owns the ship, or Six's mom, MADE her wear a raincoat. In the main game, The owner of the maw always wears a mask, her child, aka Six, was forced to wear that raincoat that covers her face because her mom couldn't stand to see that her own child was prettier than her. She put the raincoat on Six, and for a few years, powered through the pain of living with someone so beautiful. Now the only question is, why wont Six take that raincoat off? Yeah, and this has been bugging me! If his storyline is before Six', some things don't add up completely. At the end of his story, he's immediately taken away by the Janitor, and you see Six trapped in that one cage. BUT, in Six' story when she escapes from her cage, after the cage of the RK is being taken away, you see someone else already being captured in the other cage that she uses to get to the handle/lever to open the door. While in the story of the RK that cage is empty.. that's what I don't understand..

I think this DLC tells us that each Child's nightmare is brought to life within the Maw. Perhaps their 'fears' make them more appetizing or something? Like, scaring these children is like seasoning and garnish for when they are turned into food for the gluttonous Guests.
Wait, I just re-watched the "Little Nightmare: The Story You Never Knew" and I realized that Runaway Kid looks a lot like the silhouette that tosses food to Six from the cafeteria in the original game. I could be wrong, but just saying that the silhouette and RK look very alike, enough to appear like the same person in a way. Just a thought

@Treesicle I've always thought of them as puppets and the Lady is actually a witch feeding off the darker sins of the guests and she makes these puppets put the skin of former guests on to make them appear more "human". Its why they're skin seems so exaggerated, also why noodle arms or Mr.tickles or the Janitor doesn't bleed when you lop off his arms, it also explains why Mr.tickles face looks all melted and there's nothing but what looks like a mannequin head underneath. It also explains why chef garbage pail kid is able to scratch under his "face" and why you find him coming up that elevator in the guests quarters. He's killing the guests or at least cleaning up the mess the lady has made to feed it back to the new guests that come to the maw.
in the battle between six and the masked woman right as she is destroyed you see many wooden manikins as the room is briefly lit up, also could there be other children trying to escape the maw in the same timeline? maybe thats the next chapter

I think the room that Six goes through is the same one that RK likes in. Playing the main game, going through the room, you can actually see a kid start moving at the edge of the screen. Also note that the crib next to RK's has a doll/toy in the same position it was in the main game. The only real difference is that, in the main game, there is no overhead light on.

The runaway kid's story actually happens at the same time, if not a bit after six's beginning. If six stays, in the main story, in the nursery for long enough, a kid, which is in the exact same spot as the runaway kid in when they wake up, gets up and out of bed.

I think Six is related to the boy. The boy was always in contact with water and owned the coat and gave it to Six before they were taken away from each other. The yellow coat gave Six the power to get the Pointed head creatures to like her, even though it belonged to RK. Six gained their mother's powers and escaped, fully aware RK would escape as well, if he had not already been killed by Mr. Tickles. The granny was left in the water because she wanted to save the kids, and the lady didn't like that and threw her into "The depths" where the Granny became lonely, and wanted every chance she had, to mess around with the kids, hug them, play with them (granny things), unaware that the kids couldn't breath under water like her. One part of her wanted to eat the kids to not die of starvation, which is why she went so PHYSCO. RK is Six's brother (why?) because the Lady (not the granny) had every kid there, and named them all by their number. She stopped having the kids, and began kidnapping the rest of the children (So a small part of the children are all related). The kids have been there for so long, the only goal is to escape the maw. Six was possibly the youngest kid to be the Lady's child (sense all the rest may be dead), leaving RK and Six the only siblings left alive. The leeches tag on sense they all are on a ship it is easy. The janitor keeps the kids from escaping, and dying (sense there is no proof he kills kids). He only take the kids who have already died and give them to the chef's, as simply as that. The kids that get as far as ending up in a cage, end up being slaughtered, because the lady sees them (sense she controls all the adults other then the geust) and forces the janitor to send them off, to be killed alive. RK saw Six in the cage and was clearly trying to get closer to her, they had been planning on escaping before. But then the janitor came in and took RK away, to be shipped off to the chefs. But hey! That's just a theory, A game/fan theory! Thanks for reading all this :D

I heard that Six’s raincoat was given to them, perhaps the runaway kid is the one who gave the raincoat to Six? (Edit: I saw a play through of Very little nightmares and now I know that’s not the case) And at the end of the DLC there’s some kid in a raincoat in a cage near the runaway kid so maybe that’s six?
Also I don’t really believe that anything is undead rather then slightly inhuman if that makes sense, nor do I think the child who set up the rope was six but maybe they are another kid who tried to run away, maybe they even attempted to help six in some way or the runaway kid in some way?
I have an idea. What if Six and the Runaway Kid had their "Nightmares" at the same time? Could this have been some kind of deliberately caused event that started both the adventures?
I feel like the Granny(the water monster) could be a guest that got thrown down there or escaped being consumed by the lady but because of the lack of food down there she began to starve giving her a skeletal and undead appearance and this also explains much like how the guests in the main game want to eat six why the granny wants to kill and presumably eat the runaway kid
I think when six was out of the ship the boat horn that she heard was the runaway kid it could be him because some how he could of escaped and went to the main room so he blow the horn for help and six could went back for him.six could went back for him because she killed all the ugly things so she might of thought that the horn was in side ,so some one might still be alive and that some one is the runaway kid so the next chapter must be she saves the run away kid.
Purgatory kind of makes sense, the Little Nightmares Website describes the Maw as 'the only place that makes sense' and really the only thing in life that makes sense is death since everything must end. I'm not sure is this is the exact answer to the story but it feels right for a metaphor or a representation.

It is theorized that six, the geisha (the main "baddy" of the game) and granny (the water demon) are related. That six is the geisha's daughter and granny is her granny. It's also said that granny was abandoned there and seemingly lives off of throw-away fish heads and tails.
Also one theory says that all of the workers of the maw (the chefs and janitor) are actually puppets that wear skin on them to make themselves (pretty badly) human.
But that theory is completely based off the fact that grannies tend to do stuff for their grandchildren and in one scene with the janitor there are a lot of puppets. So take that theory with a grain of salt.
Also, rather interestingly janitor doesn't kill the children, rather just brings them back to their jail cells or into cages.

On the official website you can see pictures of the characters and The Janitors "real face" is shown. The thing that covers his eyes, is skin. He wears skin wich isn't his! Like a mask. The cooks are also wearing masks, or skin. The Lady wears a Mask and the Grandma... I don't know exactly if she wears no skin, but It could be possible, that this is what the others look like underneath their masks.
About that I got 2 ideas:
1: the Lady is pulling strings and the workers are like marionettes. Made of dead people

2: the workers on the ship are monsters (I mean, a different species than the customers) and to hide their real selfs, they take the skin of the customers to look like them.
Because they are feeding their children with that, or something else.
How did the children get on the Maw to begin with? They could be broth there, or there the kids of the monsters. Think about it, if these customers are broth there to be consumed by the Lady, why are they keeping the children?
I believe that they not killing the children, the janitor never kills you or the children. And the cooks are only cooking big pieces of Flesh and leave the Bags with the children alone! Sure they kill or cook you, but I think they don't kill children normally.
They are carrying for THEIR children, and kill the customers to feed the children.
You know, the kid wich is being send to the cooks (as you can see in the main game) by the Janitor, is the girl that we see at the beginning of the first DLC! They look exactly the same! And the girl was killed by one "leage?" (Hope im spelling this right)
So they didn't kill her, only out her corpse away!
These fucking leages are everywhere and it could be that the kids are killed by them, or in others ways, and the Janitor picks them up and put them away.

Lmao at the Water Temple reference. That was truly a time of hell... kids get it too easy these days.
There's a theory that the crew of the ship (the janitor, the chefs, and the Granny) are all puppets like those unfinished dolls you see the Janitor has. smooth wooden dolls being controlled by the Lady and they wear the skin of the guests (the chefs scratch under it and the janitor's skin has run down on his face revealing his smooth doll head and covering his eyes.
That long haired girl holding the sheets is the one that helped Six to climb up! All the kids are escaping or trying to and some survive, others don't. The raincoat is cos these things and events all happen in and around water and I assume shit's flooding in that ship and in the end of Six her journey, she stands on top of that ship perhaps? Of what's left (some crazy titanic shiz ova here!)

Very little nightmares, the mobile game ends with a girl with long braided hair falling into the ocean and losing a jacket like the one six was wearing, and then another girl with hair like in the geishas picture (possibly six) climbs down a cliff towards the area she fell to. Sad because that might mean the girl in VLN got eaten by a leach
The child could be Six because she dropped her flashlight, that could have forced her to use the lighter instead. She could have gotten caught by "noodle arms" and was carried back to her room. In the main game Six wa swearing a rain coat covering her face so her mom wouldn't get mad at her/find her maybe...?
I'm curious on why the granny was peacefully relaxing in her chair not even near the tv area until RK falls into the water. Maybe she has some hatred for the little ones but also I don't think they are undead because at certain points in time while going through the cooks' chapter you can see him lift up his "face" and scratch underneath. I'm thinking it's something else but I'm not quite sure. Also rip flashlight girl. 😔

Here's my theory for this DLC.
1. That midway into the DLC where The Runaway Kid is on it's own pathway THAT'S where six goes to her own pathway and continuous on forth while Runaway kid continuous his own, there's no prequel here with different times, it's on the same time but a little bit later (Sorry if it's confusing). To make it clearer When the runaway kid fell into the tube thingy and tried to catch up to the other runaway kid THAT'S where six story comes in and that's where the original game comes in. And that's why they never meet in the first DLC chapter. (Well not later in the game with (SPOILER) the boy got locked up with six locked up too beside him in the ending).
2. The girl getting eaten by those black leech things is (In my perspective) False. Yeah, if she did get eaten then why wasn't she got eaten like the way six and the runaway kid dies because of it? Being curled up like a snake stranglehold of sorts and just lying there and the leech sucking there life off and such. I don't know either if these other theories are legit but. Some say that the kids become leeches themselves, knowing how that works is beyond me. But knowing that they showed that in the first chapter of the DLC then it's bound to be explained in later chapters also.
3. And the granny like other weird creatures in the maw is a mystery with no backstory whatsoever. (This is the only thing i can say about her/it i know it's half-assed)
4.And my biggest thing i'm thinking about today. Is that the ending is when the runaway kid was captured by the janitor and we see six getting captured also, so everything they say about it being after the janitor died is completely false. And with that there's a strong possibility that the runaway kid is gonna be responsible for the other stuff that six or the player (you) missed. like locked doors, stuff that wasn't suppose to be there, or how it got there, etc.

At 4:37 it's pretty obvious what happened to the runaway girl. You can see her feet and hand prints until you run into a leech.
In the comics Six is in a rainy street, wearing that same raincoat before running into the ferry man. I don't think her raincoat has a significant meaning other than that's what she was captured in.

In the main game, The owner of the maw always wears a mask, her child, aka Six, was forced to wear that raincoat that covers her face because her mom couldn't stand to see that her own child was prettier than her. She put the raincoat on Six, and for a few years, powered through the pain of living with someone so beautiful. Now the only question is, why wont Six take that raincoat off? I watched this in another theory video:
1. the girl that rk was followingnwas killed by the leeches thats why there were black ink or slmething that came from the leeches on the floor.
2. the underwater monster was the granny and maybe she was the janitor's wife. In the character description of the granny, it says that she was abandoned by the geisha and maybe she was thrown down to the underwater dungeon. she wasnt just any monster, she's the geisha's mother thats why she was still fed with rats, chickens or other kinds of meat that fell out the pipe.
4. The granny was the janitor's wife. after when the granny was abandoned, her things (the dolls that u can see on the other room) were taken care of by the janitor.
i think it could possibly be purgatory. The Maw (well the part we see them eat in ) kinda looks similar to the bath house/inn that the spirits in spirit away.the guy with long arms(Mr.noddles I think) kinda seems similar to the spider guy from spirit away . Also I noticed the brother who swims....his body looks fairly long and almost similar to the body hanging in the first game. Could that body be similar to the swimmer guy too?
