“This story is about experiences with toxic masculinity and societal expectations of showing emotions, or the lack thereof, put on male individuals. We are expected to be emotionally and physically strong and adhere to demanding social expectations, and family history can heighten this. Vulnerability and differences do not make you weak, it makes you human. I hope as a society we continue to discuss men’s mental health awareness, and have it seen as important as it is.”
