EXCELLENT, FORBIDDEN LOVE STORY, IT IS SO SAD WHEN YOU FIND LOVE AND YOU CAN NOT KEEP IT.
I am now TOTALLY convinced that there is nothing new under the sun. When I was a teen, I was in love with Chinese dramas. The first one I ever saw was Dream of the Red Chamber which was shown on one the PBS channels (I forget which one). I often chose one of the characters in the drama I was watching and imagined myself in that role. I remember writing a short story back then that was similar to this and I'm amazed that this premise is EXACTLY the premise I wrote in my short story!! I would absolutely love to see an Asian drama that featured a premise like this, or something else, complete with the beauty and majesty of Ancient China/Korea/Japan, etc. Big budget too, not some grainy, half-done show with awful acting. If it is beautifully done, I would love it. Come on Netflix and Asian production companies, there's a niche here!!!

Queen Victoria of England was given an African princess as a gift by her military officer, who had conquered and colonised the little girls country after murdering her parents, the king and queen. Queen Victoria liked her and raised her with her own children. When the princess reached the age for marriage, Queen Victoria married her off to an African businessman who took her to Africa. Sadly she died there very young of illness. That's a true history. If you Google Sarah Forbes Bonetta, you can read about her. Thus, this Black Lotus story could also have been possible, but also not with a happy end.

Wow wonderful story I remember the country Somalia hard over 600 years of relationship in China and Japan overall Asia mostly the clotting of cottons in the Silk as well.
yes they visit a lot and teach them stuff too!! they eve have the same word for 1-2 animals since then. also they brought there slaves one slave wrotena book and sayd he had the best experience in somalia they treated them like human and they had same freedom like others. Maybe because of there nice way and respect china liked them

To add to this. I enjoyed the author's L. S. Bethel called The King's Seer so much I actually dreamed that I was shipped to China and because of my dark skin had been relegated to work in the kitchen (prepping vegetables) and out of sight from the king and his court. The king never forgot me and though he was married he found the farmer that I married and would 'visit' me whenever he desired. I had eight children by him (2 who died) .. then I woke up! I really need to create this storyline!

Ok so I like the plot but the narration is certainly mechanical. What I see as the plot is a potential change in ruling authority. What I also see is blossoming romance and divided loyalties within that romance, further enhanced by the not so unusual but rare jewel of the ethnically African female and her POTENTIAL future Chinese mate. Wow they look good together.😮
