This is not editing your own photos, but creating completely new ones based on them.
I really don't understand! No matter what I write in that prompt it does not edit my image, it makes something completely different, totally random result! Help
I'm not sure how to help because the video is pretty clear on what to type. Are you uploading images correctly? It should also be noted that Midjourney will edit your image to a large degree. That's all its capable of doing at the moment.
That’s s right , the video is clear and there are not a lot of options on how to upload the image. But I’ve spent hours trying to do something with different images. And the result was always the same- it generated some image which had nothing to do with the one I’ve uploaded. Nothing in common 🤷♀️ just random pictures

im not getting the option to upload an image
I still do not understand why the premier AI image generators like MJ and D3 are still primarily mostly useless as actual tools because you can't do basic functionality that an offline stablediffusion has had for ages like the ability to just inpaint an existing image, it only works with their images. Midjourney is a powerful tool but is wholly incapable of generating a lot of images you might want to generate because of whatever reason, and running an image through it at the maximum weight rarely results in anything like the original image (and if its a person or character, obviously it won't be remotely the same person or character) its so bad that sometimes I feel like --iW 2 doesn't do anything
thanks for this. Is there a way to use Midjourney "non-destructively"? That is to say, have it keep the original image intact but add to it or stylize it ?
Great question! Unfortunately not at the moment. The best is to have a high image weight and rerun the prompts until you get something you like. I would say it's best used as inspiration or if you don't have an EXACT output in mind.

Not sure why MJ isn't accepting my inage. Its in jpg format and it states invalid link from the file ive uploaded. Not sure what im doifn wrong
why doesn't that work for me. I follow the steps exactly but Mj ignores the uploaded image every time and just spits out random results

I cant replicate the problem your having. It should be noted that the image Midjourney puts out will be much different than the one you uploaded.
I think there's an error here. One cuploaded, you need to clic on the picture and copy the address. Copy link did not work for me.
As I suspected, MJ does not create the exact image you describe but rather generates something similar, something that may resemble the original. I am not the only one experiencing this issue. You are not answering these questions at all. How can I use my image without MJ altering it into something else or just something that looks like the original? Simply answer the question, can I or not?

It will deviate from your original images most of the time. Try to use the image weights and run the prompt several times. In the end it will always be slightly different until Midjourney releases a better option.
Didn't know how to set weight to the image, so that was useful. I have a few renders of book characters that I made in DAZ Studio, and of course they look quite uncanny. Already improved a few with Midjourney, though still far from what I'm aiming at with those illustrations. Thanks for your channel, found a few nice tricks here :)

I had this problem, I found you could click on the image so it becomes big, then second click > copy image address

I'm having trouble getting this to work and wondered if anyone would be able to help. For one, I can't seem to the Midjourney Bot into my Dm's (though I'm a Discord novice)! When in one of the newby threads, I'm following your instructions. I'm using my own book cover, and attempting to generate a landscape behind/ around it. Midjourney just covers the book cover up entirely. Perhaps this is beyond the parameters of what Midjourney can currently do/ understand. If anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Either send the image to your computer and follow the video or download discord on your phone and upload the video from there. You can use Midjourney from your phone too by the way!

I have tried it this way, but Midjourney is thinking so long to edit image.
This is NOT "your own images", this is blend/mix...
It just creates a new different photo
