Tackle For A Recent Fly In Fishing Trip

- In early September of 2020 my son Brendan and I traveled to remote Uchi Lake Lodge, a fly-in facility located NE of the small town of Ear Falls.
Uchi is known as a great producer of both walleyes and pike, and here I show the tackle I packed for this early fall foray.
What I bring changes seasonally, and with this being a fall trip I knew we'd be doing a lot more trolling for the larger pike...

Great video thanks for sharing, can't wait to see the fishings videos!
Thanks David, you won't have to wait too long, they'll be published today. Cheers
Been dying for a CFG vid. Cnt wait to see the fishing
Thanks Steve, the fishing vids for our trip to Uchi will be published later today!
Love the shimano reels, but sometimes I have to switch to Diawa for a heavier drag
Another great video. I love how many of your lures are rare, or hard to find. Seems like you often put lures in front of fish they aren't used to seeing.
Well, that's not my intention LOL! I have sponsors, but in general I use what's worked for me consistently over the years. If they happen to be obscure lures to some, well then I guess that's a good thing. :)
That's quite a bit of gear. We are weight restricted. I'd like to keep my tackle bag under 20 lbs . I feel like a general manager having to trim the roster before the season begins.
👏👏👏👏👏😉👌
Where could I find a magnetic mount like that for my transducer? Very informative video and comments. Thank you.
I have a few Jack Penny spoons. Sorry to hear that he passed away.
Yes indeed, he was someone I looked up to for a number of years, great man.
Do you have a list of your tackle storage boxes
Great video! Does your Helix 5 have Down Imaging? and, would you stick with the 5 if you had access to a Helix 7? Thanks! in advance...
Thanks Ken! No the 5 is just a basic unit with straight sonar. Absolutely not, I'd never upgrade, but then that unit is only used for my remote fly-in trips where charging batteries can be an issue especially with a larger graph that sucks up a ton of juice. In a perfect world, yes, I'd use the bigger better graphs on my fly-in's (I have 12's on my boat at home) but the basic graphs make more sense on the remote trips.
@@CanadaFishingGuide Thanks for the shout-back. I'm looking at the Helix 5 Ice/Open water portable bundle for my next fly-in and was debating over the 5 or 7. Thanks for the info!
do you ever bother bringing live bait on a fly in trip? I've done both and the bait seems to be a bigger hassle than its worth love to get your opinion.
No weight limit on your fly in?
