One week ago I received my glc 300 coupe. I was a bit worried about its power because in the past I had an a45 (380hp) and a BMW X5 (340hp) so I felt I was acquiring a downgrade but once I drove it, I felt it was more than enough. Indeed there is a difference. I'm not a car racer so for my needs it is perfect. I actually love to have more technology on the inside than on the outside. This was a great review, cheers from Colombia 🇨🇴

I have the 2022 GLC 300 coupe, which I prefer to the later ones that have the big screen in the middle. The addition of that big screen makes the front feel quite cramped. Plus another issue I have is the footwell isn’t great if you have big feet as there isn’t enough room to rest your foot when cruising on long distance journeys.
My 2025 GLC 300 Coupe is awaiting a ship to come to the USA. I am changing to the SUV from a 2020 E350. I loaded it up with every US option, including the rear usb ports. A bit nervous about going to this model. 🤞I am looking to the higher seating position.
Interesting review Nick I currently have a GLC43 however the price 79k for a plug I is 3k short of the latest GLC43 and with the weight of the batteries if the spec was right ie air suspension and rear steering would consider

I just ordered the 2024 Mercedes CLE 200 cabriolet with the AMG package in Switzerland and it is 4MATIC as well, so it is not just the CLE 300 and above that is all-wheel drive now.
@@npoleary I selected the black metallic paint for the exterior with black synthetic leather seats on the interior. @lorins8687 that’s why I cover several brands, just gives people more of a choice. It’s entirely up to them, some want a car to keep for years, some may want to sell and change within a couple of years, some may lease and not even worry about depreciation on new cars. I bought a new car last year, yes it has depreciated but I wanted to treat myself. Will I buy another? You’ll have to wait and see… review coming soon! 🙏
Sadly no I’ve asked my local dealer this, main car dealers across virtually all brands will never retrofit stuff to cars. They’re normally only allowed to sell cars as they’re described when they were built. Technically I guess it would be possible but you’d need someone who knows it inside and out and who knows how to change part of the dashboard! Sadly a bit beyond me! Sorry :(
I have the GLC SUV 2024 and wonder what is the difference between using the stalk to put the car in P or using the electronic handbrake lever in the lower dashboard area (below list switch) I presumed the P on the stalk was an electronic park brake but if that was the case why have the operate switch?
The stalk is for the gearbox park whereas the switch underneath the light switch is actually a handbrake that electrically winds on (you can hear it go on and off).

Sorry Nick but that extra outlet for a dash cam is definitely in the wrong place. There should be a c usb outlet somewhere around the rear view mirror for an after market dash cam. However your own car same as mine has a built in one, but I am not paying £200 to turn it on.
Having reviewed Mercedes and produced a lot of content on them, they have never put a port anywhere else other than the middle of the car. The fact that this is there out of the way is brilliant! I’d love that in my car as I have a wire dangling near my cup holders. I don’t use the built in one, not worth it for me as I want auto recording / auto start. But I do get it for people who just want an in-built solution 🤓
Might be just me being odd but whenever you mention wireless charging it pops up to my mind I wish you tried putting a large phone there like an iPhone from Plus/Max series and see if it charges okay 😂 Some of these charging trays seem very tiny but it might be just perspective fooling us
I have an iPhone 16 Po Max, it fits in there just fine. I’m waiting for the day where it doesn’t fit, that will be part of my review so I’ll make sure to tell everyone! So far they’ve all been good! 👍🏼
LOL OMG Mercedes have fallen for the same crap as the other manufacturers that saving money by replacing climate control buttons with icons on a flat screen is something they can get away with. Of course some people will love it, and Nick here seems to think it's fine, but there is a huge number of people that thinks it's bollocks so why the F would Mercedes do it and give you a finger print sensor on that button bar instead of a temp up/down lever?
A lot of people/customer's do still want physical buttons, the same as me. Car manufacturers place all their controls on the infotainment screen because of interior design (minimalism. To just make it look nice). To enhance the interior feel and by making it seem like it's futuristic. Some do it to actually save weight. Some do it to actually save cost for themselves and the customers. Some customers don't want physical buttons (complaining that the buttons break off). Some customers just don't care. It would have been best if there was an option in the configurator if you want physical buttons, or just everything in the screen🤷🏾♂️.
The glc in the US as mine has an option for the extra USB c port to the rear, and one additional at the front before the cup holder. I think it is also an option in the UK and ventilate seat. It is a must option in the California, but lots dealer in socal not order this option for their glc, like mine doesn’t have. It is just an $300 option, not sure why it cannot be as an standard to the California dealer when they order those cars😂😂😂
Hmmm strange on the ports, but for me hardly anyone sits in the back anyway, but ports in the back are useful especially if kids have any devices they want to plug in
@@npolearyI think there’s a reason they did as this way, especially in the US market, which is the glc actually still considered as a compact SUV, for family with kids, people probably will go with the gle, the entry level gle price is overlapping with the glc at the middle trim. I can see more GLE on the road compared to the glc in California, SoCal, LA area, for family use. And my personal experience, I use my glc most time as a 2 seater vehicle, very very few time has my friend seats behind. And i tried 2 times seat in the second row, it is kind of small for people used to have larger cars in the US market. I feel this is for different market decisions from the product team, something like they offer long wheel base version for the Chinese market with lots luxury options to the rear seats .
That sort of pricing structure reminds me of Apple. Entry level laptop, start adding a few things and well…you then may as well go for the next one up. Oh then when you add this you may as well go for this next one to get a bigger screen. Suddenly you’ve spent thousands more 😅 That’s how they get us! 😂
Think I read coupe version is getting killed for next model? Used to be a model I was considering. Now it’s too generic. Just buy the base one, as the differences are hard to tell!
Yeah one of the reasons why I didn’t just focus on the hybrid bit on its own. Not everyone wants one so wanted the video to appeal to non hybrid lovers too! May I ask why you won’t want one? Are you thinking jump straight to EV? Or stick with petrol / diesel
@@npoleary I want a diesel or petrol car (ev are not cars, just vehicles, of course if you love cars). We don’t need heavy cars,, the lighter the better, let’s don’t forget the lessons from Gordon Murray and others big talents. Hybrid are unnecessary heavy and complicated.
Hi Nick, I finally decided to order a 2025 GLC 300 SUV, with all the options, this week. I hope to get it in December, in Canada. It's funny I traded in my previous Mercedes, an ML350 Bluetec to get a 2021 Tesla Model 3 and I am now trading in my Tesla to get a Mercedes.
@@npoleary Although the Tesla has been fun, fast, reliable, efficient and easy to charge on long trips, I have grown weary of the stark interior, excessive road noise, and lack of safety features. My Tesla came with radar and ultrasonic sensors and the standard Autopilot worked well. Then Elon decided that only the cameras were needed and turned off the radar in my car and stopped installing radar and u/s sensors in all Teslas. Since then the phantom braking issue has made the Autopilot unreliable, dangerous and almost unusable. Now even the turn signal and gear shift stalks are gone from new cars. While other manufacturers are adding more and more safety systems to their cars, Tesla is taking them away. In my opinion Elon Musk is taking Tesla in the wrong direction. Also, once rare, now Teslas are EVERYWHERE. I like to drive something special. So why not an EV from a different company like Mercedes? I enjoyed the EV lifestyle and charge mostly at home, but fast charging on a long trip on anything but the Tesla Supercharging network, here in Ontario, Canada is WOEFULLY inadequate. In 2023 Mercedes agreed to adopt the ability to charge on the Tesla network, through an adapter in 2024 and by installing the Tesla (NACS) socket in their EVs in 2025. None of that has happened yet, otherwise I might have bought the Mercedes EQE SUV. Also since ALL manufacturers have agreed to switch their cars, in North America, to use the Tesla Superchargers, they may become overcrowded. So why not the GLC PHEV? While being very tempting, the version we get here, GLC 350e, is thousands more expensive than GLC300, heavier and therefore slower, poorer handling and worse fuel economy when not in EV mode, more complex and therefore more prone to failure and maintenance. Having said all that (sorry), I have decided to go back to ICE for the next 4-5 years to allow the DC Fast Charging network to sort itself out, hopefully. Looking forward to getting back into a luxury Mercedes again.🙂 I'm a big fan of your channel, Nick.
@PhilT993 thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos! Wow awesome, thanks for sharing! It’s great to hear from everyone and their situation. Always curious to hear as normally most, once they switch to EV they don’t go back. Not always…but there are a few circumstances where it doesn’t work for that person or as you said various things happening overseas with more cars coming onto the supercharger network etc. All interesting! We’ll watch this space for sure! I’ll keep the reviews, tips, tricks and content coming in the meantime! 👀
@@npoleary Update, The order for my GLC300 SUV ran into a glitch, which became locked in, so they allowed me to reorder. I decide to order a 2025 GLC350e (300e in the UK) instead. It should be fun to play with. 🙂
@@npoleary I had a Mini Cooper when I passed my test then got into a CLK Convertible when I hit 20 kept that till someone went into the back of me . Then onto Porsches it’s only my second one but cannot fault them
Just over a year ago I bought the GLC300e SUV Premium Plus. Pretty well much the same car but not coupe. I have to say its the worst car I ever bought! I had to reject it I am afraid. It had so many problems with it, mostly electronic. No kidding I had to go back the MB dealership, must be 10-12 times and the same and other issues kept coming back. It broke down completely twice, the sunroof kept not closing, the electronics went hey wire on so many occasions and overall it was a nightmare. I rejected the car and what really surprised me that MB attitude. To get things resolved I had to write personally to the CEO in Germany. It was awful. MB admitted fault and returned my money in the end. It was a beautiful car, but unreliable and service from MB was appalling. I opted not to buy another MB Im afraid. So be warned.
Oh no that’s not good! :( Across every brand of car out there, you will always find the odd car might have issues. These days it is quite rare but statistically not impossible. I was very unlucky on my first car (a very cheap runaround, sadly not German, it was a Peugeot and quite old) I had my clutch go within a month. This was due to age, but then I had problem after problem over 2 years. For more modern cars, it can happen (again very rare), I’ve had to reject a car before from a different car brand. I had to draw the line when it went back 4 times. A friend of a friend I know had issues with their brand new car with the battery dying again from a different brand mentioned above. It would all come down to your experience with how a dealer can resolve it and dealers will do their upmost to try and fix it as returning cars can be very costly to them as a business. For my experience with Mercedes it’s been very good, video coming soon so keep an eye out! But glad you got it sorted, what car do you have now? Still a hybrid? Or back to normal petrol or diesel?
@@npoleary What I cant understand is why they just didn't get me another one. It was a right load of hassle. I never should say never as I like MB, but the service was appalling. It should have not got that far.
They can but they have to have the chance (under law) to attempt to fix it. It’s either 2 or 3 times from memory for the same thing. At which point you are by law able to go to the next steps such as rejection or replacement etc. I can imagine it costs dealers money to do that but yes you’re right what should be the right thing to do is to make sure the customer is happy and look after them in that scenario. At least it’s sorted now 👍🏼
@@npoleary they did - about 14 times it went back, it was ridiculous. What really shocked me was MB service and attitude. Why didn’t they just replace the car - ok these things can happen. But no, they wanted to kick the can down the road and hope I went away. In the end I had to write to CEO of MB in Germany. He duly got it sorted and got my money back. It was all vey unnecessary as it all it needed to do was replace the car. So now, I’ve moved on and won’t buy or recommend a MB. Shame as I like them, but can’t rely on them. I just think MB are in all honesty in the UK very arrogant.
Well at least I cover other brands of car and not just Mercedes so it gives you something to watch 🤓 But let me know if there are any video suggestions you have and I’ll possibly look into them 🤓
Absolutely the worst entertainment system designed by man. In German, the word "intuitive" translate to: Read the 6000 page manual now! There is absolutely nothing that is easy on the entertainment system on this car. The car drives terrific and was obviously designed by actual competent people. It amazes me that as you tried to figure out the system, you need to pull your attention off the road for minutes at a time - nice!
I’m curious what was it that you were trying to do? Mercedes multimedia systems are very easy to use and have very good reviews (not just from me but from others too) Let me know what you’re trying to do, there’s often a few ways to do the same thing, but you can often just pick the fastest option 🤓🙏
All of them. This is the rock bottom. Because it has a big screen and nice lights you think this is easy to use? Hey Mercedes is a complete joke! It can’t get anything right. Did you try using it in rush hour traffic with 8 lanes going 75 mph in places like Atlanta or LA? Or just some quiet country road or test track. In the real world it’s a distraction mess, forcing eyes off the road to do anything, because steering wheel controls are a disaster.
I’ve heard Mercedes are consolidating their range I make things simpler which makes sense. They haven’t disclosed what models that is though, although there is some speculation online
Here let’s try this. Take it for a spin, but this time with two kids in the back, your spouse up front, a dog, in heavy urban traffic and someone in the back wants the temperature turned down, and someone else wants a change in music and loudness. You tell me how that worked out for you and how many cars you clipped in the process due to mess Mercedes designed.

Think I read coupe version is getting killed for next model? Used to be a model I was considering. Now it’s too generic. Just buy the base one, as the differences are hard to tell!
Think Mercedes are still planning on doing some consolidation in their range (simplifying it further) we’ll have to see what they do next year!
Great seats , massive screen will take a while to get used to it ,the rest average
Wasn’t it a full refresh but not a facelift?
Full refresh I believe 🤓
I think that might be the reason this one has some newer Mercedes tech like Digital Light 🤓
I like the car but I will never buy the hybrid, let alone the plug-in.
Why is the passenger driving??
Steering wheel on the wrong side? 😅
😂
Hi Nick, I finally decided to order a 2025 GLC 300 SUV, with all the options, this week. I hope to get it in December, in Canada. It's funny I traded in my previous Mercedes, an ML350 Bluetec to get a 2021 Tesla Model 3 and I am now trading in my Tesla to get a Mercedes.
@philT993 ah very nice! 👌🏼
How come you’ve switched? What made you change from an EV? 🤓
@@lorins8687 Sure, I am retired after decades of hard work and thoughtful money management.
Acceleration 19:56
coupe 43 AMG
I had a 18plate 43amg for 6 months tbh I didn’t like it quite hard to see out of compared to my old 08 Cayenne. Px it back to another Cayenne
Nice! Have you always had Porsche’s? I’ve not covered them on my channel yet but might look into it the future!
@@npoleary I had a Mini Cooper when I passed my test then got into a CLK Convertible when I hit 20 kept that till someone went into the back of me . Then onto Porsches it’s only my second one but cannot fault them
Currently got a 4.8 GTS cayenne
Across every brand of car out there, you will always find the odd car might have issues.
Well at least I cover other brands of car and not just Mercedes so it gives you something to watch 🤓
But let me know if there are any video suggestions you have and I’ll possibly look into them 🤓
Absolutely the worst entertainment system designed by man.
Mercedes multimedia systems are very easy to use and have very good reviews (not just from me but from others too)
Let me know what you’re trying to do, there’s often a few ways to do the same thing, but you can often just pick the fastest option 🤓🙏
Are you aware Mr O'Leary that Mercedes are considering to axe this very GLC model. Why? TOO UGLY.
I’ve heard Mercedes are consolidating their range I make things simpler which makes sense. They haven’t disclosed what models that is though, although there is some speculation online
What a joke. Everything!!! Are you serious? The most distracting system designed by man to take your eyes off the road. Good grief.
What’s your favourite multimedia system out there? 🤓
