Looks like a good machine! There's always a learning curve to every new piece of equipment.
Hi Jeff. It’s an amazing machine. The more you run it the more efficient you will become. Hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving! - Dick
Thanks Dick! I hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving as well!
Nice first split on the new Eastonmade Jeff. Glad you got that connection figured out. The pizza wedge is the ticket, I'm impressed. Keep up the good work.
FANtastic machine Jeff ! Awesome tractor too. I’m on board 🚜🔥🪵👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
@@adirondackwoodsman Thank you for the Sub Jeff ! Much appreciated 👍
@@Living-The-Dream it’s funny when you think you’re subscribed to someone already.
Had to check your machine out. That’s a beauty. I think I’m gonna look into another wedge to make things go quicker.
Thanks! I had the Yardman splitter for 20 years but as I get older, I wanted something with a log lift. Going up for 2 days of bucking and splitting this weekend and I can’t wait. You definitely would like a 4 way wedge if you can put one on your splitter.
Looks easy for a young man who doesn’t mind a little extra money
Great to see the new machine being put to work. I had not given that extended tray much thought but after seeing it in use I think it’s a great idea.
The prying end of a crowbar, inserted in the slot of the actuator arm, with the heal against the wedge, would probably work. Also a little grease would help the wedge slide back into place. Shalom/gw
I thought about a crowbar but didn’t want to wreck the new powder coat right off the bat. A year from now things might be different 😂
@adirondackwoodsman OK just put tape on it or some other thin material.
Another Thing i'm looking into modifying. My old splitter (Timberwolf) had a tube style grate (pan). This allowed all the debris to fall thru, and it actually seperated the firewood from kindling. I want to recreate a tray for my eastonmade 22/28- either a new tube style- or cutting slots in my aluminum flat tray.

Yeah that would be helpful. Right now it all goes off the end of the pan. I used my box blade on my tractor to push it into the woods.
@@adirondackwoodsman my problem is, i let it fill directly into a dump trailer, or the IBC totes. This method of course gets the firewood and all debris mixed, and as u have seen, its a LOT of debris using any brand boxwedge
@@jerrywayneray I bought the STK 24 conveyor but wanted to get the splitter under my belt before using it. I went with the 24 because it has the grizzley bars just for that reason
@@adirondackwoodsman yep, as I've watched almost every vid out their on the conveyors. Even with grizzy bars, I still see a lot of debis going into dump trailers/ IBC totes off these conveyors when using boxwedge. I guess I need a tumbler cleaner :)
My 22/28 had the EXACT same problem, wouldn't lift, was jammed. I called Easton made Gerry, sent pics. With mine, the Slot was not cut out correctly to match the blue arm. I took it to a machine shop to have the notch cut a little more of an angle. You are correct, if i lowered mine all the way down, it would jam up every time. I got the extended tray , and I also got Dual lifts :)

Hello Jeff, just subscribed ( though we were already) nice splitter🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Hi Jeff,
There is a slight learning curve with the 12-22, but the more you use it the more comfortable you'll get. Before you know it, you won't even have to look at the levers, you'll just know which one does what and you'll have no problem figuring out where you want your box wedge to sit. We have the same machine. It a few runs, but we have gotten pretty good at running now.
Great video. Be safe Paul
Thanks Paul! Appreciate the feedback. I am enjoying it.
