hehe, it's been a while since I last played GTA5 in VR. Will definitely try to get it working again with the help/links you provided. Thanks so much for that Zim!!!
Awesome! I re-installed this last week after enjoying Luke's Cyberpunk 2077 mod. CP has much better AER modes, but takes a beefy setup. I use a DualSense controller mod which gives me advanced haptics-mindblowingly fun! Did you manage to get haptics working for your DS? Also, from my past experience with GTA5VR, 120fps is much smoother for driving, unfortunately Quest 3 can't do 120fps with Link yet.
Haptics were working alright, the controller was cabled to the PC running Steam VR; if that makes any difference, there. No special configuration or profiles needed. Can you link to the mod you use? I'm a haptics guy. During this, I was enjoying a SubPac-enhanced chair while playing, too. :)
hahaha thats crazy, please share your in game settings or maybe save that for another video? seems to be running and looking great on your 2080ti so im excited to give this a try on my 3090, just downloading GTA V to try it myself
Alright I will! Full weekend (FReality Podcast, ZimRacing, then full stream of this!), so just gimme 2 days. Good place to start is Steam Deck configuration settings as a base.; then tune up from there. That's how I did it.
@@Zimtok5 sweet, yeah no rush ill give those settings a go and look forward to your stream of this too, some of the best vr implementation of gta v ive seen so far
@@mbezik Thanks a tonne. I'm anti-HUD and wanted to put something out that looked right to me. This isn't my normal jam; a 36 GB video with 10 hours to render (color-grading drove that). No voice track because I got Covid a second time and it's F'd me up voice and energy wise, so figured this was a cinematic way for people to get the jist with a bit of baked in Zim humor in there along the way as I went.
@@Zimtok5 im not sure what im doing wrong as i followed the instructions above (brand new install of gta) and when i launch in either steam link or virtual desktop it runs in theater mode in steam vr, i even went back and followed the steps again overwriting all the files but still just flat in theater mode, is there another step to stop the game launching in theater mode or should it just fire up in vr
I found another tutorial and it gave an extra setting, in the game folder theres a bat file called realconfig, it tells you to run that and select L,M or H for low medium or high settings, i selected M and then fired up the game again using steam link and this time i was in VR, the performance was pretty poor though, ill try Low seting tomorrow. I wonder if it works in openxr with virtual desktop as performance is normally a lot better than steamvr, ill try swapping the openvr_api.dll with the opencomposite file
The Dream 💯%

Can you please help me with this mod?? I have tried and tried to get it to work but only messed up my game from launching completely
This is for a clean (brand new) Steam install. The exact steps I followed are in the description. Make sure you are Offline. That tricked me at first.
Does it have motion control support using the oculus controllers? or only gamepad?
Gamepad only, from what I played.
theres a better mod that actual has motion control support back in 2018ish years before the gta5 r.e.a.l. mod,
wut. never heard of another mod
