My favorite moment from this stream had to be when the creepy Mario sprite didn't load in, so Vinny was getting chased by a normal Mario doing the stanky leg. His death looked like Mario just tripped him and he fell into a pit.
i like the mental image where instead of lucas being scared and piss-shitting his pants over the game he's made to play, he's screaming at the screen and complaining about how unfair it is because he sucks ass at the game and keeps dying constantly to the obstacles or being caught. somehow more realistic to how a child would react when put in this situation
I just love these types of exe games..going from consurend and scared you will feel at first and then you wanna slam a fist on the wall after dying so many times on that one obstacle.
Best part of this was that Vinny had to skip the cutscene every time, and whenever he did, Chat would ERUPT in an absolute chorus of "HEY THERE CHAMP" and it was never not funny

@@modestMismagius105 I think Vinny initially was willing to entertain these games, but after years and years of playing them, and them all having essentially the same formula, and seeing that these weren’t any different, he gave up on trying to enjoy and understand them.
I like seeing this, and then remembering the first time I watched a clip of this game, where whoever was playing was absolutely BREAKING Mario's ankles.
Vinny's frustration with the game is obviously hilarious but the way he screams when Mario jumped back out of the pit after thinking he was safe now being chased by an invincible Mario that was twice as tall is probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing Vinny express genuine terror.
I was honestly mishearing the yells the whole time and thought he was screaming "MARIOOOOO CHEEEEEEESS" instead of "LUCAS" and was probably losing my mind more than vinny because of that

His ego dissolves around 5-7 times, he turns into David Byrne, Watto, Elmo, Meatwad, then he has around 10 ego deaths, he cycles through a few rounds of the stages of grief, blaming the hitbox, literally screaming 'gabbagoul'. this could honestly be studied by psychologists to see the inner machinations of the human mind and how we persist through torture

Theyre trying to focus on how Mario does things such as running under the player and skidding, causing the player to fall into Mario rather than the AI directly following them from behind as anyone would instinctively anticipate a chasing AI to do. That is why this person said that its not just a run to the left event, because Mario tries to outsmart and surprise you, even if Vinny just kept losing whilst running to the left the point is that he doesnt very often try to outsmart or predict Mario even in the latter half of the video when Vin has already experienced what Mario does.

@@scrittle yeah, i agree, but i think it's still an example of the horror difficulty problem. the game can't accomodate for players with low skill. maybe some sort of adaptive difficulty, or tilting the game slightly in the player's advantage without letting them know, would help keep the experience running smoothly. assuming that it's mainly trying to be a horror game, rather than a platforming challenge.
Not a fan of exe games. But honestly? This looks great. It doesnt take itself TOO seriously - its cheesy, but the use of Mario 2's boss theme for the chase is way more fitting, and the fact that you can stun Mario by jumping on his head feels way more natural, and the fact that Mario actually crushes the blocks as he runs past is a nice detail as well. There is ACTUAL gameplay, and that's not always the case in exe games.
It's not even that the game is bad, It's just that he can't comprehend how to play the same level he's played god knows how many times in reverse, I think it was that, And the fact that he was trying not to be mad ,was what made this so god-damn funny
