"In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder." - Maynard James Keenan In this song he shows how those who claim to follow Jesus and his teachings have perverted His message to serve their own selfish ends. With this ironic and bitter retelling of Christ's Sermon From The Mount, he exposes the true motivations of the powers that be.
I love watching you react to these videos. As a Long time tool and APC fan..(specifically a Maynard fan)... It makes me happy to see others enjoying their music the way I do. They are the band that got me through my tennage years bro...

The Biblical verses are inversed. " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". Maynard is saying "And the word was death And the word was without light." The sermon on the mount is blessed are the poor in spirit, those who mourn. Blessed are the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Blessed are the merciful, the pure in heart, peacemakers and persecuted for righteousness' sake. Maynard is saying Blessed are the fornicates, that's not a Bible verse nor is Blessed are the envious.
It wasn't by any means my intention to come across as critical or snarky. As a UA-cam Creator myself I know and understand that people will chime when we overlook or misspeak about something we're covering.
BuzWeaver well I didn't intend to come across like I perceived you to be snarky or critical, haha. It's hard to tell intentions with this format. It was meant to be a simple observation without judgement. If I'm wrong about somethings I don't want to mis represent anyone or thing, so I'm up for being corrected by people. Mistakes can be our best teachers. What's your channel?
This was a good observation, I heard those few lines and was thinking...well that's interesting, but when Preston spoke about them being from scripture, something went amiss somewhere
Roger Privratsky I thought so as well, it's weird to me people are so worried about coming across as being negative and it's even stranger that when someone is corrected they take it as a personal insult. When none of the above is the intention.
A Perfect Circle is an American rock supergroup formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. A Perfect Circle has released four studio albums, the first three during the early 2000s: Mer de Noms, their debut album in 2000, and followed up by Thirteenth Step in 2003; then in 2004, Emotive-an album of radically re-worked cover songs. Shortly after Emotive's release, the band went on hiatus; Keenan returned to Tool and started up solo work under the band name Puscifer; and Howerdel released a solo album, Keep Telling Myself It's Alright, under the moniker Ashes Divide. Band activity was sporadic in the following years; the band reformed in 2010, and played live shows on and off between 2010 and 2013, but fell into inactivity after the release of their greatest hits album, Three Sixty, and a live album box set, A Perfect Circle Live: Featuring Stone and Echo in late 2013. The band reformed in 2017 to record a fourth album, Eat the Elephant, which was released on April 20, 2018. Prone to downtime due to Keenan's other musical commitments, the band has featured a variety of musicians in the other roles throughout its alternating periods of activity and inactivity. The original incarnation of the band included Paz Lenchantin on bass, Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar, and Josh Freese on drums. Primus drummer Tim Alexander had briefly stood in as a drummer prior to Freese in the band's initial live shows, however this was prior to releasing any material. Band collaborator and producer Danny Lohner and Marilyn Manson bassist Jeordie White were also members for a short period in the early 2000s. The band's current lineup features Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, bassist Matt McJunkins, and drummer Jeff Friedl, the latter two also being contributors to the related Puscifer and Ashes Divide projects. Despite the varied cast and numerous lineup changes, the stylistic content of A Perfect Circle's songs has remained consistent with Howerdel as music composer, and Keenan writing lyrics and vocal melodies. The band's studio albums have been generally well received critically and commercially, with their first three studio albums selling 4 million copies collectively as of 2005.[1]
If you'd like to jump into Maynard's third band, Puscifer I'd start with: Potions Vagina Mine (live version) Man Overboard Polar Bear The Arsonist The Remedy
Your open-mindedness and your ability to see the art within are why I keep coming back to watch your videos bro. Also A Perfect Circle's of "When the Levee Breaks" is killer. Might also want to check out APC's cover of "Imagine" by John Lennon.

I actually think it's a little more than that. I think it is not just that we're sinners, but that we exalt and hold up the terrible values. The peaceful and mournful breakdown extolling the virtues is mourning what should be acknowledged as worthy, but seems to be cast aside in today's society.
this album is my favorite. this song is holding up a mirror to today's "Christians" who are greedy,self-righteous,political power hungry dominionists. They preach a blasphemous "prosperity gospel". They cozy up to the rich and powerful CEOs and politicians. And APC is shining a light on them in this song. If you like this one you'll love "Talk,Talk" from the same album. Maynard has always had religious references in his songs. I think back to Tool's "Right in Two". Which questions the choices made by "God". Also great from this album is "Disillusioned". And "The Contrarion".
I've been listening to A Perfect Circle since the beginning. This is their best album. I can't say that I thought is was at first listen, but it grew on me. Many disagree. Give it a chance. "Just take the step...just go all in."

Speak for yourself ass hole. I'm not sinning any time soon.
A Perfect Circle - Orestes. This is maybe the best song of them so far...It is not just beautiful but the lyrics are next level.
You never did Stinkfist from Tool...i think you will like it
so long and thanks for all the fish is a good song for a well written song with a dark meaning
this album is my favorite. this song is holding up a mirror to today's "Christians" who are greedy,self-righteous,political power hungry dominionists.
Listen more of their first album please, also try some Puscifer you'll love it

React to Orestes or The Hollow, please! 👏🏼
Definitely!!!!
sorry, you might get this a lot but are you related to Dave Mustaine?
By and Down Live at Red Rocks!
I may be wrong but I think u only have 1 song left to do from Tool's Aenima which is Third Eye. It's different. Long. Lots of insteumental. But amazing
simon centeno eulogy and jimmy he’s done, two awesome videos. Hasn’t don’t hooker with a penis yet tho.
What about the 2 albums before Aenima only Sober has been done. Intolerance, Flood, Undertow, Jerk off.... the list goes on. So many great songs still to hear
@@simoncenteno2755 pretty sure he did Jimmy.
PRESTON, YOU HAVE TO WATCH , SO LONG, AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH BY A PERFECT CIRCLE. I THINK YOU WILL REALLY LIKE IT. IT'S NEW !
Preston whats up bro.. Also my grandsons name.. Preston. Love the way you check out so many different artists and different songs.. Keep em coming.. MUCH RESPECT...💯💯💯💯💯
Brother, I might be fucked up, and I know its been like 4-5 years. I might be fucked up totally, but I would rather go back to your Tool journey all over again, than to watch some of those "new" reactions... You resonate with me, and my feelings, and you portray myself so well... Good job. Wherever you are right now, bless the fuck out of you. "Good luck".

Or show me how to live
Funny that you say that about When the Levee Breaks because they covered it on their album called Emotive.
Of course we want to see When the Levee Breaks by a Perfect Circle. One of my favorites.
Great video Preston! I would recommend next my perfect circle song called the outsider! And of course as usual let’s get some reaction to Filter! My long walk to jail to start! Thanks Preston !
Mars volta please
Wallawoofa Pabadango yes!! L’via from Frances the Mute my absolute favorite by them
@@jaimeecherivel2927 Cassandra Gemini is their best song. ua-cam.com/video/NyUMHEua7-A/v-deo.html
Yeah he should do a mars volta song. Especially from the album deloused in the comatorium.
And/or At The Drive In!!!
All praise Omar!!
Please keep reacting to A Perfect Circle songs/albums. I wanna keep watching you grow my friend. Thanks for all these video's
Perfect Circle the thirteenth step. Their best album by far.
Pretty good. Really like what they're doin. You could say they're doing When the Levee Breaks as to explain the big flood of destruction to come on a social and physical level. A detox to start again, a better structure of life.
Nothing beats Judith
Tool - Stinkfist is a good one too
Talktalk
Disillusioned
So long and thanks for all the fish
Some of there awesome songs
Need to do Weak and Powerless by them as well. Also, react to Breakdown by People Under The Stairs.
You have seriously tried to catch up with the last 30 years of my life in a short period of time.. Go you.
If u like A Perfect Circle you have to listen to The Noose off the Thriteenth Step Album and Gravity off the same album, The Noose is about overcoming drug addiction and Gravity might be also but both are incredible songs and my personal favorites
Pretty sure the whole album is about drug addiction and the 12 steps of overcoming it, with the 13th step being relapse.
@kingKTF the great thing is...this one was from their current record from 2018...crazy that bands like tool/aperfect circle stil make great records 20 years after they started....for me the last one was the best record and i really was surprised...passioned musicians :)
Potions by Puscifier (music video)
Definitely listen to their cover of When the Levee Breaks from the Stone and Echo live album! That live version is the best version of their cover.
It’s absolutely phenomenal! One of my favorite songs by them.
Thanks for the reaction video!
Definitely gotta do more APC. should check out The Noose by them
@King KTF it is great that you said at the beginning, it reminds you of led zeplin, when the levee breaks, because A Perfect Circle
made a version of their own, of that song, on their cd "EMOTIVE"
