Nice work! I like your technique for soldering the feeders to the joiners, I plan on doing the same thing, already started cutting feeder wires. The piece of L shaped track to hold the joiners is genius!

So I cut 100 feeder wires (50 red 50 black) and made a copy of your 'jig' to attach feeder wire to joiner, was simple enough and works great. Realized I had 22 AWG solid core wiring so was easy enough. The toughest part was me having to cut a piece of 36" code 83 track to make the L bracket. Pained me a bit but I have plenty for entire layout. I dared not cut into one of my switches etc. I figure will need piece parts from the longer flex so not a big deal heh. After a couple of decades and a few houses later, I'm finally in build phase (and several layout designs later). Have the backdrop almost done, a couple of friends coming over in next week or so to finish that phase. Have all the materials (foam/ply/brackets/etc) for around the room layout. Will get the ply ripped and foam cut this month. Plan is to do it in phases. I may put up all the 'basics' but will focus on section at a time to get trains running albeit not around the room initially, but the framework will be up. The only two things I have to determine is whether I run the dcc bus and dc bus all at once (preferable) or piece meal it. Second issue is I will have two islands sitting out in the room and have not come up with a solid plan for that yet. One will require a lift out bridge to get into the room, I have watched vids and have a plan for that. The other is just going to require some carpentry as it is 90% + shelf layout. So taking my time thinking through it. Again, great channel and thanks for sharing your knowledge, wisdom and techniques!

Wish I saw the segment on feeder wires a couple hours ago. I just made a batch. Not bad, but I like your method better.

Nice video I can't help but notice you have Radio Shack solder do you still have Radio Shacks on the East Coast? I love the Radio Shack but they're all closed on the West Coast.

A question - I always shudder when see folks using sharpies, I have heard of bleed, etc. Any concerns/issues you have noted? What gauge do you use for feeders and bus?
