[ 15:08 ] - I was told to always use your left hand to signal a stop. It makes it easier for both cars and bikes to see it. If you use your right hand it might be hidden behind your body.

I had a collision with a group of tourists doing a left turn diagonally, they cut across my lane of travel and I ended up going over my handlebars. They even said "the light was green" which means they believed they were allowed to turn like that. I had to get 5 stitches and a bill at the bike repair shop for $200ish.
Riding a bike as a tourist is a great way to explore the city but traffic is an organism and we all have to play our part, can't be out here playing

Yes Denmark values biking so much that in S-train ( trains in Greater Copenhagen) there is designated carts, where you can take you bike with you for free.
In Denmark everybody rides the bike from our King Frederik 10, who used it to bring and pick up his children at kindergarten, to our politicians, to our tv- personalities, musicians, to everyday commuters. 😊😊

I am not sure, but I think you - do need a Tickit for a full size bike also, on a train? But my "Folding Brompton" is allowed for free, as I have asked about it!!! Actually this is its main purpose, as it is a Horrible Bike! Finn. Denmark

Danish (Australian) Queen Mary encourages everyone to ride bikes, which she prefers! It's great exercise and great for the environment! The last time she was in Sydney, she was seen travelling around the city by bike with security following on bicycles too! 😁

She is a great ambassador for both Australia and Denmark, and she's a great addition to our monarchy. In quite few ways she helped mature Frederik who was a bit of a lad in his younger days, in a good way atleast in my own opinion, but he became generally more respected after he met Mary. They compliment eachother exceptionally well.

He should have explained better, that the small traffic lights next to the big ones, are for bikes. They usually give bikes a head start on green lights, so that people in vehicles can get a sense of the bikes around them.
He also forgot another important point; Stay below the speed limits! You can get fined for breaking the same speed signs, as vehicles must follow.
Also, his explanation about saddle hight was way too complicated. With the right saddle height, your legs must be almost stretched out, when in the upmost down position. Simple as that.
If you're not a skilled cyclist, lower it an inch (2,5 cm) or more, to get better balance. But don't ride long distances like tjis. You'll ruin your knees.

It most likely wasn't a "two-lane bikelane"? It was a bikelane and a walking pass! And also the stopping line for bikes are sometimes ahead of the cars stop, to enable cars/trucks to see the bikes, if intending to turn right! Many accidents happen when trucks turn right, and haven't seen the bikes on the side. Finn. Denmark

He's got good advice, especially if you're not used to biking around.
When I had my daily commute through midtown (right past Tivoli), I sure wore my helmet.
So many cyclists in midtown ride so crazy and without regards to rules or traffic lights that some (car) drivers get frustrated and vengeful. I've also seen bike-on-bike violence across one of the harbour bridges... riders basically hitting and kicking each other, i believe it was because one of them rode slowly while taking up too much space with his cargo bike... better wear a helmet...
He tells you never to do a smooth left turn in an intersection... it's great beginner advice, but an experienced cyclist would know in what lane to position yourself in, and it's between the cars, not in the blue bike lane... and many intersections are designed to make it virtually impossible to do right.
So... stick to the to-corner turn, but what he gets wrong is about having to wait for the lights to change, look around and cross as soon as it's safe to do... in that way you also avoid disturbing those waiting for the lights behind the line.
Reminds me of when I visited Key West and rented a bike... being Danish I know how to ride without a lane or sharrow, never on the sidewalk. There were bike lanes some of the places... others not, and it seemed to confuse people when I went to the road instead of the sidewalk... but it takes more than a large Ford pickup truck to scare me off the road 😀, streets were so narrow and small, I wasn't slowing anyone down anyway.

In Denmark the bike is a mean of transportation, whereas in the US it seems like the bike is more a mean of exercise. In Denmark we ride the bike for all occasions, and dress the part whether we are going to work or for a night out in the city.

ALWAYS be on alert with busses and trucks if they are signaling they are turning right and you need to bike straight over the street or in a roundabout.
It is by law them that has to wait to you have passed BUT there is a chance they haven't seen you because your bike is positioned in blind spot to their wiew so they can't see you're there.
I always stop and let them pass when I am on my bike just to be safe

OMG! When will you stop hateing on bikers in Stockholm?
Just playing. It is realy good that you mention the bike lanes quite often, as that takes a while to get used to. When I ride my bike in Stockholm I some times get ran over though I'm on a bike too, just because I tend to breake for them who walks close to the bike lane. And around Centralstationen where you walked a lot it is just an area that people pass through to get to where they are going. Had you walked a road east or west to Gamla Stan there would had been lesser cyklists, and a bit more pleasant ambiance too.
This video made me want to go bikerideing in Denmark now. So thanks for the inspiration to go there. Just got to practice my amercan accent so that they wont here that I'm a Swede and kick me out... haha!

The left wing's explanation is technically incorrect and illegal in the way it is shown.
1st the hand to signal stop should be higher not hidden by the body. It is a signal to everybody else.
2nd When turning left, it is illegal to "cross", enter over the stripes in a pedestrian crossing.
Without thinking about it he actually do it correctly towands the end when explaning how to stop when there is no obvious resin, lights, etc.

There's no legal requirement to use hand signals, like helmets it's heavily advised but the police are not stopping people for not doing it. There's obviously also no defined height at which your hand should be nor which hand, except using the left is heavily advised, not legally required because the police would be doing nothing else than stopping every other bicyclist for not doing it or doing it "wrong".
