- Cllr Tom Hayes is a current Labour City Councillor for St Clements in Oxford. Stealing posts is an offense. In this video, we see 'sticky finger' Tom lift a leaflet from a resident's letterbox.

I mean talk about pearl clutching, and i would shake the hands of anyone who removed tory, labour and indi junk mail filled lies that was left hanging out of my letter box that i did not ask to recieve in the first place, save me doing it. lol

Absolutely agree with you. Since the incident, Tom has made no attempt to apologize ven to the local resident whose mail he took.

When I was out canvassing I always made sure my leaflets were pushed right through the letter box, even if they got screwed up. I made sure any people with me did the same.
Good point, if leaflets are left out it can also be a single no one is home. Pushing the leaflets right through is really good practice.

How is it that politicians who i may add have been instrumental in the drive toward the reliance on camera surveillance do not realise that they are not exempt from their push for this technology. Are they stupid? Dont answer that.😂
To not be disciplined in some form, sets a very bad example. I haven't heard of a public apology or a statement from Tom. Should at least visit the resident and apologize privately.
But they are exempt, name one politican punished for any crime...
@@shed52 interfering with post is a criminal offence Post Office Act 1953, and can carry a prison sentence - so technically he should be locked up for this, and removed from office permanently.

I understand that its not new news, but I feel that reminding local residents of this unchecked behaviour or the fact Tom hasn't apologised to the resident concerned is important.

Yes, at the time of the recording he was campaigning in East Bournemouth as an MP, he is back in Oxford as a City Councillor.
