The producers should have given Rogers what he wanted. Enhanced the role of Trapper and offered him a promotion to help manage the show. He might have stayed. He was just as funny as Alan Alda. The chemistry that he and Alda created together was unmatched by any other character relationship on the show. The old episodes are still much more enjoyable to watch than the later ones. By far.
My favorite character on MASH was nearly everyone who all contributed to the show in their own unique characters played wonderfully!
