We’ve offered a hundred bucks for a room in a 5 star hotel, regular price was 400.00+, LD looked at the manager and said here’s a hundred, it’s midnight- who else are you going to book the room to? They took it!
Promoted Listing fees: eBay has been playing with their Promoted Listing policies this year, including one (as I recall) that if a buyer opens one of your promoted listings, then buys something else from you, they charge you the fee claiming the sale happened because of the original listings promotion, even when the buyer doesn’t purchase that first item. It’s a money grab on eBay’s part.
I leave offers on all items. If i get a low ball offer, i chuckle and make an offer maybe 5% off...just as ridiculous as the low ball. That still gives me the option take lower offers when i need sales and shows the "algorithm " that i am interacting with the buyers.
Usually with offers if they are extremely lowball, I’ll just straight up decline them. But if they’re a little bit closer to my asking price, I will counter offer.
Offers & Haggling: both methods have drawbacks and rewards and remind me of the old Navy story about picking up “dates” at bars. It’s commonly said that if you don’t mind hearing 9 refusals the 10th response may succeed, especially at closing time. You just have to be willing to hear a negative response often and keep asking. 😉
When you said RBR Tanya and I looked up from our work and busted out laughing because that is the exact same dynamic with us! Love it.
Super other note: if anybody sees an item in your store with a promoted listing ANYTHING they see AFTER in your store (relisted or even tag as a private deal) that is bought if they do under a promoted listings they looked at EARLIER (leading them to your store) is going to be sold as “promoted”. Added the COST as promoted.
Sole seller here, and yes, I argue with MYSELF. This is one area where I agree with both of you! I vacillate between putting a minimum and not for the exact same reasons you make. I get upset by lowball offers. If they’re truly insulting, I counter for a dollar less than I listed it. I’ve got one golf shirt that the same buyer keeps lowballing me on and we’ve haggled until he blows off when I won’t come down to less than market price. Then he comes back the next week and tries again. I’m this close to blocking him. After dealing with a low baller, I start putting minimums on my listings for a while but eventually start worrying that I’m missing opportunities. Hope you two reach a happy medium.
My kids use to work at a theater & when my husband & I was in high-school we worked at one. The employees get dibs but there is a room of merch the manager will sell after the movie is no longer showing
People send messages on items without offers open.
I have people argue when I don't take their low offer.
I moved my entire store to from ebay to Mercari with the import. Minimal problems.
I'm so glad to have started watching you both. I really like your energy & content
I do ebay as a retirement hobby and the unreasonable offers make my eyeballs roll back in my head so I mostly do not use offers.
Field Trip! Field Trip! Field Trip! I would love to see a haggling at Target video 😂
I agree with Pops on all the offer convo & maybe a algorithm bump on item when lowball offer received 🤷♂️
I do make offers in major stores sometimes when interested in buying in bulk. Recently purchased all metal signs at a Tractor Supply Company by making the manager an offer
The only time limiting offers is valuable is if you're getting caught up dealing with bad offers instead of doing work. If you're selling that much it makes sense.
Personally, I set 50% because anything less than that offends my wife and she wants me to block them. (Oh yes, we fight, and she wins.)
Teresa, you're missing sales if you're setting things at 25%. Many times you can negotiate someone from 50% up to where you want it.
Who doesn't like hot sauce? Serial Killers. That's who! Oh yeah, not watching. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtains.
I have a store with over 8000 items. I tried both ways and I like offers better. If it’s a low offer I will either decline or counter. It takes seconds.. I never put a min offer, I also never let low offers bug me at all! I counter or decline and move on.
Ooooooo- hot sauce and stickers!! I’m on board!
You list for what it's worth, but some buyers want to probe with a low offer to see what the seller is thinking. I've sold some things WAY under my original listing price because I just needed it GONE.
Please record the target haggling. It's precious footage!
People want a deal and will pay if they think they got a deal. Oldest trick in the book.
Thanks for these videos you guys rock!
Agree with pops. What if they offer $1 below your minimum. You will never see it.
I am self as a family on Ebay selling. I am team Teresa, i put a minimum offer in listings. Believe it or not, most people just pay full price. Offers increase alg to Ebay and most buyers dont see offers accepted. They want what they want NOW. Plus after working 10 hours i dont need the low ball.
I turn offers on, and set a minimum, might try to leave the minimum out on a few listings, but it seems stupid questions come with lowball offers, like i sent you a $5 offer on a $70 item that is 5 pounds, wound you take $10 and do free shipping.
it's more work to set a min, offer to hundreds of listings rather than respond to offers for a few, way less time invested
There are soooo many low ball offers these days...did not used to be this way.
I leave best offers on w/ no minimum. I want the opportunity to make a sale. What if they offer $1 less than your min? Would you lose the sale over a dollar?
Your promo issue is because they probably clicked on your original listing via a promo. Per ebay rules, if they do that then buy from you in the next 30 days, you will be charged the promo fee. Their reasoning is that the original sponsored ad brought them to your store in the 1st place. I had a similar situation with an order and they would not reverse the $90+ promo fee they charged.
I finally made it to Padres! Good spot for me!!
Oh my gosh! My husband buys their hot sauce! 😂
You guys are the best channel on UA-cam, hilarious. I agree with you both I don't mind offers but low offers piss me off. When I get a lowball offer I just decline it cause I ain't messing with them. Lol, you and Teresa are the best wish y'all lived closer I know we would hang out!!!(
💯 in the same offer situation. I don’t use minimum offer, and he does. And he gets so irritated when a low ball comes in. Does T check their feedback to see what they’re all about?
I accept offers on my listings but I don't put a minimum. If someone comes in a penny under you minimum, you may have been willing to take the offer but you'll never get the opportunity to accept.
Q: What are the benefits of using pirate ship versus eBay internal shipping? does pirate ship make more work Downstream as in adding tracking numbers to sales and stuff like that thank you you guys are great!
If the guy initially discovered anyone of those shirts through a promoted listing then Yes eBay has the right to take promotion fees if You promoted those shirts in the first place? Only the guy can tell you how he came across your items to begin with.
I ha e to say Theresa's personally is very mirrored with mine lol 😆
Does Bananza still make you ship through them and then charge extra to ship there?
Not sure if it is same, but I think you cannot sale bubble christmas lights on eBay is that correct. Just not sure.
100% correct, but they do sell on Mercari
I am Team Teresa on this one. Low ball offers make me fume!
Awesome job U2
How can i send in a sticker for my resale channel?
Do you promote all of your listings ? What % do you use if you do ?
Do you guys have any idea if ResellCNY is coming back or what happened to them?
I wish we knew, we haven’t heard anything
I'm betting you don't have time to play Dungeons & Dragons, but do you and Teresa like RPGs? Another great video. I'm like Teresa, I'd probably have a negative reaction to a low-ball offer, but I like Corey's opinion that you want the option to recieve the offer. It's too bad jokers ruin it for genuine offers, but that's the good with the bad. Thanks for another fantastic video.
Haven’t played since high school but we own an escape room business so we’re kind of the ultimate dungeon masters!
Offers... I am not a fan.
Did Grams just brag, about not being a bragger?
but you're not walmart or target! you're a flea market, compare yourself to a flea marker or a pawn shop, not a walmart or a target. sorry but just enable offers and don't set a min.
Too long, didn't watch.
Me neither!
Good. Bye, Felicia!
@@jochildress5003first time on the internet, eh? Welcome!
