I remember when Toonami came back on April 1st. I was planning on sleeping through the night, as Adult Swim's anime block just didn't really warrant staying awake at the time, but as I was sleeping TOM started speaking and woke up immediately. It took a good few seconds to collect myself, but once I realized that Toonami was back I lost my shit just like everyone else. It was a too good to be true kinda moment, and something I'll never forget.
I too was there that day. My buddy PMed me on steam and told me about it, since we were hardcore into toonami back when we were younger, and I just about lost my shit when I saw TOM 2 once again hosting toonami. There was something magical about seeing one of my favorite TV blocks back again, even if it was just for one night. Hell, all the shows they showed that night I had probably seen before, but I still stayed up just to rewatch them because at one time I too was once and once again that night, a toonami faithful.
That was my EXACT experience too! I was like, "Oh great, another year, another all night showing of The Room. Maybe I'll leave it on to see if it helps me fall asleep." And then... HOLY SHIT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! After I picked up my jaw, I was like a kid on a sugar high for the next three hours, reminiscing, texting my friends, hitting people up on Facebook, jumping on the Adult Swim forum, doing flips on my bed at 26 years old, lol. I felt like a teen all over again, and I ended up staying up all night afterward having one long nerdgasm.
I’m with ya in this too. Like so many people who were expecting just another Adult Swim run that night, I was at a total loss form words when I saw that they were airing Gundam Wing and Outlaw Star again. Right after I saw what was happening, I immediately started contacting some of my friends to turn on their TVs fast. Like everyone else who grew up watching Toonami as kids, we were practically drowning with pure joy, especially with the possibility at that time that it had the potential to come back. And it certainly did. If there’s a moment life that I would define as an experience as having a wish come true, Toonami coming back on the air was without a shadow of a doubt, a definitive example of that sort of feeling. That’s a moment in my life I will never forget.
Wish I got to experience that moment. However I didn't have cable in my room for many years since there was no need for it anymore, and I still don't lol
I remember back then when I was a kid, our grandparents would sometimes invite my family to watch our local hockey team play, in one of the stadium's VIP suites on Saturday nights. It had a fancy living room complete with a TV and room service would bring us food while we watched the game on the balcony. My brother and I on the other hand, instead sat in front of that TV watching Zatch Bell! on Toonami while eating freshly baked pizza.
+Yung Waves Why do people need to make themselves unhappy by never allowing themselves to be in that impossible, perfect crystallized version of the past they create? Toonami is here _now_. I know it's hard, believe me, but try to enjoy what this is, _while it's happening_. When we only allow things to be good as memories we cheat ourselves of the experience of the present. You're only alive in this moment, everything else is a ghost of things that happened. If Toonami seems bad right now it's possible you might not like the current lineup. That's okay though, it'll change. It's always changing. And we're bound to get Attack on Titan season 2 eventually. But I mean, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Hunter x Hunter (when it's good), Gundam and One Piece (one of my favorite shows ever) absolutely make the block worth watching even if the other shows just round out the experience (for me). Not to mention all the stuff in-between. Game reviews and inspirational speeches from Tom, music videos every now and again and sometimes even animated pilots/shorts apparently, just to mix it up. And that's not even talking about new Samurai Jack... Fuck dude, I even get it. I'm 25 now, I'm disabled and unemployed, I live with my parents and I'm not going to school. I dunno what the fuck to do with my life. But why the hell would I make it worse by making myself sadder when I could just as easily try to enjoy the things happening around me? Today's cartoons are good, the music is good, hell, I don't watch too many movies but from what I've seen they're pretty damn good too. At least that's something to appreciate (besides my friends and family and obvious stuff).

“The goal was to speak to kids directly not to look down on them” -I’m glad that I grew up on toonami, rather than other networks treating anime shows like a stupid kid would watch, it had more of a serious tone and makes you hype up as a kid.
Yeah, he touched on this in his Adult Swim video. I remember being in elementary growing up watching DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Inuyasha, etc., even ones like Fooly Cooly and The Big O, which kick started my interest till this day in loving anime/manga. It's a huge point he makes about it not being a genre, but rather a medium. My father for instance grew up watching Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and Looney Tunes, which is why he still regards most animation (without watching it of course) as being kid-focused. Besides all the animated shows I watch (both anime and American cartoons) that deviate from that, I just watched 'Your Name' a few hours ago, and my God what an amazing movie.
DinoDan TheMan I guess many people are weebs than😂your friends need to get with the wave because most people watch anime including athletes, celebrities, and rappers anime has had a huge influence in hip hop so there's many anime references in rap and shit its the norm lol that's why I'm surprised they said that because in my school if you don't watch anime then people look down at you (not seriously just a little disappointed bcuz they're missing out) they just need to start watching because that's what people that never watched anime say ...🤷
God damn! I can't believe that, this coming March, Toonami will be 20 years old. I am eternally grateful to have been part of its 11 years on the air and its revival years later. Without it, growing up, I wouldn't know about shows like Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Big O, and Tenchi Muyo. 20 years later, the newly revived Toonami introduced me to Kill La Kill, Gurren Lagann, and One Punch Man. My only complaint is that it should have the entire Saturday to itself. No Family Guy, no King of the Hill, none of that. Just new anime shows and classics that have graced the show's run to a new generation of fans. Thank you, TOM (Steve Blum), the people behind Toonami, and to our kaptain who guides us through the history of pop culture.
chwen hoou I hope I spell these right, but do you remember Lupin III, Inyu Yasha, and Yu Yu Hakusho? I only dabbled into DBZ and Gundam Wing, but have always wondered why I didn't check them out. There's also a bunch of others from my high school years that I've only just remembered, such as Ronin Warriors, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Blue Sub No. 6, and Trigun. I think Cowboy Beebop played late at night. So much back then for someone like me and that was only the tip of the iceberg of what's available.
Growing up outside of the US, and with no cable or satellite TV, i had no idea what Toonami was before 2012. However, the genuine glee i saw from people online when it returned made me realize it was something special to the people who knew it. Somehow, i doubt people will be quite as enthusiastically nostalgic about, say, crunchyroll in 10 years.
i honestly disagree. What all the topics have in common is that they're all time-tested and have shown that they will be cult classics for years to come because they have been. I love Rick and Morty, but it needs its time afterward so that fans can reflect on what its effect on its medium was after its finished, give it a couple more years.
all of it. i don't like the characters, i don't like the animation, i never found it that funny, i don't like all the mature humor, & the animation doesn't go well with the premise. i like community but i just can't get into this show
stop talking shit Adult Swim shows music from very talented underrated artists in there website and during commercial breaks. But I’m surprised they put Gorillaz
this, ngl, got me in my feels. Toonami was such a great part of my childhood and allowed bonding experiences with even my family members. I'll never forget the night of Toonami's "last" broadcast.
As if my profile picture wasn't enough indication, I fucking loved toonami growing up and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Tom was such a great character and the airtime was thoughtfully produced every step of the way. Thank you for this brief trip back in time.
“The feeling that someone was introducing you to something they had a great deal of passion for” - this is why as a kid I was so excited to watch Naruto air for the first time. then every Saturday night felt like I hanging out with TOM watching all those great shows
Dude, you're always knocking it out of the park with your content. I wouldn't know about Cowboy Bebop without Toonami, and that is one of my all time favorite shows. Not animes; not cartoons, SHOWS. Toonami changed how I looked at animated films, and how they are just another art form, and not just a "cartoon". Thank you, Kristian. Cannot wait to see what you have in line next.
I would argue dubbing in general, regardless of who the dubbing party is, is an awful and disrespectful practice in general, regardless of whether it is cringeworthy, done with love and appreciation, and/or done with or without permission. Strange people get hung up on specific dubbing and licensing companies when it will be a gross misrepresentation regardless.
todd5687 Oh im a huge anime fan and a huge fan of Hunter x hunter, I guess its just that childhood magic haha!Granted Hunter X Hunter is better story wise and in alot of Categories but there something about Discovering DBZ as a kid that doesn't compare to anything else oddly.
I only just found this channel, and the quality is absolutely astounding. These videos are infectious, and I have a thousand tabs open and ready to binge. Thank you for making this great content.
I remember tuning in to what would be "toonami's last broadcast" and being there for the April fools joke. I was also there to help start and be one of the first people to sign the petition to bring it back online. I was even featured on one of Toonami's ad bumper blocks. Toonami holds a special place in my heart and in my life and I'm so glad to be tuning into it ever saturday. Thank you for this video Kaptain. It means a lot to a lot of people.
Great job, man!! I've been a Toonami fanbo-uh, Faithful for so many years now; like many others, I ran home to watch this every day. When this ended the first time, I cried. I approve this video.
Every one of your video's on this channel is a must watch for me. It just oozes quality and familiarity that the wait in between uploads is all the more satisfying. Thank you.
Dragon Ball Z was there for us when we needed some fast paced action (mixed with oh so much filler) but Hamtaro is what made us smile! Made us remember that it’s okay to just be happy and have fun.
If no one else will say it, I will: You have the best youtube channel, Kristian. Superb content. I can always count on you for extremely high quality shows. Thanks for the awesome videos.
Toonami introduced me to Eureka Seven, a series that has crystallized into one of the most emotionally resonant pieces of art I have ever consumed, and for that, I will be eternally grateful that Toonami ever existed in the first place.
ivan pabon Saturday Night Anime is where my childhood friends and I discovered our love for anime. I still hold a special place in my heart for sci-fi and horror schlock like the works of the great Yoshiaki Kawajiri. I still love anime but nothing will ever beat that sense of grittiness and, dare I say, edginess of anime of the 80's and 90's.
Me too bro me too. I was thinking as he went over most of our introduction into anime about all the great stuff that showed on SciFi back then long before Toonami. None the less I was rushing home to watch DBZ and Trigun like most of us were.
To be honest, I've never cared about the topics your videos are about. Hell, I didn't even know probably 90% them before I press play. But I come here to every new video, and I'm wholeheartedly subscribed because you're content makes me learn something new or understand something entirely differently. Everything about your videos is so captivating, I can't even describe it. Thank you so much for creating.
I was 12 when Toonami launched in 1997. The combination of awesome anime shows that kept being updated, excellent hosts like Steve Blum and Peter Cullen, and outstandingly memorable bumpers and music made Toonami a rare cultural phenomenon that helped make anime as popular as it is in the US today. It very much felt like a secret club made by anime fans for anime fans. When "Tom" said farewell, everyone knew it was Steve Blum saying it through Tom.
Found this through a post on Kotaku. Dude,I'm also so moved I straight up subscribed. This shit was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I fucking teared up seeing Toonami's final broadcast (like I do every time. I actually can't listen to that Tycho album because of that). But man!!!! I don't have cable anymore but I'm still happy it's on again. I remember everything from Month Of Miyazaki (which I'm still holding out they do again someday) and New Years Eve's Eve to the Friday Night movies they did. Also the speeches TOM did which still continue to this day. I'm beyond words at how glad I am to have found this. Thank you dude. If there were ever anyone who's a Toonami Faithful, you'd probably be it. Thank you
Kaptainkristian, you capture ideas so flawlessly and on such a tremendous scope and scale. I honestly hate waiting between your videos. Much love, man.
this actually made me cry a little. thank you. its just so nice to see the passion summed up in a clear and empathetic fashion. I was honestly never a fan of Toonami because I'm Canadian and we didn't get the same content but that you were able to piece together the urge to understand different corners of the globe in children and young adults... is touching.
Man I'm still bummed by when toonami start's nowadays, I just wish it would go back to starting at 10 pm but no aparently adult swim needs to show reruns of bobs burgers and Cleveland. show
Toonami was where I first saw Dragonball, Dragon Ball Z, Tenchi Muyo, Tenchi Universe. I’m so happy it’s back and I loved how when the Toonami block would end on Kids’ WB! when it was included on there, they went through a wormhole. Right after that, if you turned on Cartoon Network at that time, the ship would come out of the wormhole and start on Cartoon Network for the day. That’s how cool this lineup was. You could watch it on Kids’ WB! then once it was done for the day, you change the channel and watch the original lineup on Cartoon Network. Great video and ty. Please keep the sweet content coming!
Didn't know much on this subject but once again you make it so educational and motivating to watch. Keep up the great work Kristian you're easily one of my favourite UA-camrs.
Straight on the nail with the "*Anime is not a genre*", as the demographic for different shows are extremely variable. Myself, outside of a few select titles such as Ghost in the Shell (1995), the Ghibli movies, Neon Genesis Evangelion (95-96), Mobile Suit Gundam Zeta and Ninja Scroll, there's very little for me to enjoy outside in Anime.
Suggestions for future videos: Avatar the last airbender, Samurai Jack, Fairly Odd Parents, the downfall of Cartoon Network, Dragonball Z, the negative views on video games, Games that tell meaningful stories like the last of us, Journey, Gone Home,
You have heard this already, so many times. But never stop making videos, you are very talent and an inspiration. There will be a point where you run out of topics and ideas, but that doesn't matter. I love your work. You deserve so much success. Keep this up
Aye, Toonami just upped and vanished. Replaced by Cartoon Network Too, a collaboration of some sort. The only anime it aired was Pokemon, from what I can remember. That vanished too, after some time. No idea what took its place.
You are definitely one of my favorite you-tubers. It's so rare to see someone just so engulfed in analyzing something that hasn't been analyzed much before.
Hahaha what an interesting flash frame in the beginning, hopefully a foreshadowing of a video that many seem to be pleading for...anyway great visuals and writing as usual! Your whole channel seems to me like your own stab at "curating" the things you like and presenting it to the rest of the internet. Looks like it's worked out well so far!
Sorry, but Pokemon kicked off the anime explosion in the West. Anime on Toonami started with picking up reruns of syndicated shows (Robotech, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z). Remember, Moltar asking if Toonami was a failed experiment? Pokemon and Digimon's success on other channels lead to Toonami's willingness to give "Gundam Wing" and "Tenchi Muyo" a shot.
Theonetruewonderfly Not really. Anime was starting to get recognized by the western audience as far as Akira and the anime craze specifically didn't start till the early 2000s, which is when DBZ was at its most popular in NA and the Pokemon anime declined massively in popularity.
a video could be done and just about anything in gundam its criminally ignored by analysts. being so large you rarely see video essays about even one of the series.
Yea it really does get looked over a lot. I think A lot of people saw Wing and liked it a lot but just never got into the rest of the series as they frequently saw it as "all the same" I do understand though getting into big franchises can be daunting not to mention it has been very poorly marketed in the west with the exception of Wing.
You summed it up perfectly. It's not just that it's a late-night action anime block, it's the aesthetic and common interface and passion that connects it all and really makes it an experience.
does anyone remember that one night they played daft punk and gorillaz music videos! that was the SHIT! that night I stayed up to watch that and I recorded it on a VHS tape.... I STILL HAVE THAT TAPE!
I did the same! Toonami Midnight Run: Special Edition. And that's actually what got me into Daft Punk and the Gorillaz. I call all my friends who got into DP with Random Access Memories posers. They don't know nuthin' bout that Digital Love.
These videos are so incredibly slick and well-articulated. I look forward to them every time there's a new one. Learned a lot about topics I didn't know about too. Keep it up!!

What don't you like about Rick and Morty, and how much have you seen?
all of it. i don't like the characters, i don't like the animation, i never found it that funny, i don't like all the mature humor, & the animation doesn't go well with the premise. i like community but i just can't get into this show
Toonami introduced me to Daft Punk and Gorillaz.
Deshi Blacksheep me too bruh now im a daft punker
Deshi Blacksheep how? I would like to know
stop talking shit Adult Swim shows music from very talented underrated artists in there website and during commercial breaks. But I’m surprised they put Gorillaz
Adult swim put me on MF DOOM and toonami on daft punk and gorillaz
Didn't have the best day today. I'm glad this video is here to cheer me up.
RetroCaliber I always look forward to a new video of his. I subscribed back when he only had two videos.
DigestingGummyBears Dad, is that you?
Brando Montes Go watch toonamiaftermath my friend
Brando Montes What happened that made your day bad?
i know it’s literally been years since this comment was posted but i hope wherever you are right now your days have gotten significantly better 💞
this, ngl, got me in my feels.
Excellent.
Freaking LOVE this!
Same :3
Gaijin Goombah Media Good to see you're on board with the good kaptain 😉
Gaijin Goombah Media hi it is nice to see others like you here
Gaijin Goombah Media tell mat pat to get this guy
I didn't know you liked Toonami!
Toonami was magic. Every weekday home from school, you sat down at 5PM watched for many hours.
Outlaw Star is amazing.
Very well delivered and structured.
Thank you for making a faithful and nicely polished video.
Splinks your welcome
I am surprised you didn't use 4Kids as an example of cringe worthy Westernization of certain anime properties.
Nothing beats a jelly-filled doughnut
+megamcee lol Classic Brock
I would argue dubbing in general, regardless of who the dubbing party is, is an awful and disrespectful practice in general, regardless of whether it is cringeworthy, done with love and appreciation, and/or done with or without permission.
Strange people get hung up on specific dubbing and licensing companies when it will be a gross misrepresentation regardless.
Saban came first. Before (and during) Toonami an awful lot of anime was handled by Saban and broadcast on stuff like FOX Kids and the WB.
Red Sparrow I cannot remember what channel it was but that channel had Samurai Pizza Cats on Saturday mornings.
So crazy how excited I got to be back home by 4 to watch DBZ. I dont think Ive ever had passion for something like that ever again. Thanks Toonami!
watch hunter x hunter it's basicly dragon ball but better
todd5687 Oh im a huge anime fan and a huge fan of Hunter x hunter, I guess its just that childhood magic haha!Granted Hunter X Hunter is better story wise and in alot of Categories but there something about Discovering DBZ as a kid that doesn't compare to anything else oddly.
gotcha but for real tho if you ever watched the original dragon ball the story is almost exactly the same. generally anyways
It is huh, yeah I watched Dragonball after DBZ on Toonami aswell that was also fun. I Missed the SS transformations though haha
I only just found this channel, and the quality is absolutely astounding. These videos are infectious, and I have a thousand tabs open and ready to binge.
Thank you for making this great content.
These videos always make my eyes water
Facts
I remember tuning in to what would be "toonami's last broadcast" and being there for the April fools joke. I was also there to help start and be one of the first people to sign the petition to bring it back online. I was even featured on one of Toonami's ad bumper blocks. Toonami holds a special place in my heart and in my life and I'm so glad to be tuning into it ever saturday. Thank you for this video Kaptain. It means a lot to a lot of people.
In the end, no matter how good or bad that programing has gotten. We gotta thank it for the start.
God bless Toonami.
Great job, man!! I've been a Toonami fanbo-uh, Faithful for so many years now; like many others, I ran home to watch this every day. When this ended the first time, I cried.
I approve this video.
Can you do Avatar the Last Airbender next?
Sadman Chowdhury it's better if he doesn't take suggestions tbh
He plans all of his videos out in advance (that's how he keeps his color scheme) Hopefully he will eventually though!
Sadman Chowdhury yeeeeeeeees
+Mathboy, Wait, there's a color scheme?
Sadman Chowdhury I have been commenting this the last 3 videos
Every one of your video's on this channel is a must watch for me. It just oozes quality and familiarity that the wait in between uploads is all the more satisfying. Thank you.
Holy crap I never knew that's what TOM stood for!
Pyrocatheter I know _right!?_ I honestly don't know how it took me so long to finally discover 😆
Pyrocatheter I didnt even know he had a name haha
fucking beautiful once again. I used to love toonami it was so great and so enjoyable. It was cause of that I got into more anime
Shayeday So it isn't great anymore? :*(
lol well I don't know anymore cause I don't got cable :/
Shayeday If you get spare change one day, try Sling TV - only $20 a month :)
aight I will see but I am broke lol
The line up is great, it has one of my favorite shows "Hunter x Hunter" on there. I don't think it's as charming, but it's still pretty great.
Anyone remember when they used to show Hamtaro? *Hard cough* Dr-Dragonball, Dragonball I said Dragonball.
Hamtaro was my shit.
lol that shit made me get a hamster
To quote T.O.M. himself "Well...they are kinda cute."
Im pretty sure the theme of Hamtaro is seared into my brain, and I can never get it out.
Dragon Ball Z was there for us when we needed some fast paced action (mixed with oh so much filler) but Hamtaro is what made us smile! Made us remember that it’s okay to just be happy and have fun.
If no one else will say it, I will:
You have the best youtube channel, Kristian.
Toonami and Adult Swim in general will forever be the greatest television blocks of all time
Every time I see one of your episodes I'm inspired to create my own media. It's a true gift, what you do with your channel
man i thought i was the only person who watch anime on syfy in the mid 90s
also in the mid 00s
ivan pabon Saturday Night Anime is where my childhood friends and I discovered our love for anime.
Back when we had to actively search for anime.
Only drove us to want it more
To be honest, I've never cared about the topics your videos are about. Hell, I didn't even know probably 90% them before I press play. But I come here to every new video, and I'm wholeheartedly subscribed because you're content makes me learn something new or understand something entirely differently. Everything about your videos is so captivating, I can't even describe it. Thank you so much for creating.
I MAKE IT A HABIT OF WATCHING YOU EARLY! I LOVE THIS!!!!
If Toonam returned to Latin America, I would cry like a baby of joy.
Same for the UK
don forget australia spain and japan too and france there was a toonami as tv channel
What about our town in US?
@@bradyanderson6311 We lucky that we got toonami as a block here in the US..........
@@PickleRicksFATASSCOUSIN [adult swim] stole it from good Cartoon Network!
Thank you
So many weekends watching toonami at midnight, I miss it more than anything.
You did good by this bro, well put together and straight to the point for the retro watchers like myself.
teared up a bit tbh
Kaptainkristian, you capture ideas so flawlessly and on such a tremendous scope and scale. I honestly hate waiting between your videos. Much love, man.
This channel is pure fucking art
this actually made me cry a little. thank you. its just so nice to see the passion summed up in a clear and empathetic fashion. I was honestly never a fan of Toonami because I'm Canadian and we didn't get the same content but that you were able to piece together the urge to understand different corners of the globe in children and young adults... is touching.
Man I'm still bummed by when toonami start's nowadays, I just wish it would go back to starting at 10 pm but no aparently adult swim needs to show reruns of bobs burgers and Cleveland. show
The amount of feeling your vids put out is amazing
Oh look Gundam
* What the heck!? Its a Gundam!!!
Mobile. Suit. Gundam. The. 80. Ms. Team. Bring Back. Dylan
Damn the nostalgia is real. Can't wait for that Fooly Cooly season 2 and 3 to begin to air.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!! New kaptainkristian video!!!!
dood, i am addicted to your stuff. was checking every other day to see if you'd uploaded.
April fools joke, my ass. You knew they were testing the response.
Didn't know much on this subject but once again you make it so educational and motivating to watch. Keep up the great work Kristian you're easily one of my favourite UA-camrs.
I stopped whatever I was doing just because Kap' rules!!!!
Timothy Knight i
your style, from speech to video editing to music selection, is amazing, sub.
Maybe it's just me but i can sort of see Toonami influences in KaptainKristians editing style.
Hiphop fusion-highly animated muted aesthetic; yep I see it.
like he said about toonami- he has a respect for the medium.
Someone needs to give Kaptain Kristian his own tv show, these are amazing, look forward to every time I see a new one
I've never clicked on a video so fast in my lfie
This was amazing and brought back loads of memories from back in the day. Thanks for creating this. Bang.
The production and animation on this video is INSANELY GOOD!!!
Waiting so long for a KaptainKristian video is honestly, worth the wait.
Suggestions for future videos: Avatar the last airbender, Samurai Jack, Fairly Odd Parents, the downfall of Cartoon Network, Dragonball Z, the negative views on video games, Games that tell meaningful stories like the last of us, Journey, Gone Home,
Tyler Roach
I would love to see that CN one, because it's already 10 years since the Boston incident.
You have heard this already, so many times. But never stop making videos, you are very talent and an inspiration.
There will be a point where you run out of topics and ideas, but that doesn't matter.
I love your work. You deserve so much success. Keep this up
i knew this would be a good day
"Theres an art to curation" so true. Love your videos man :) youre one hell of a curator yourself
Yo, Remember Bobobo bo bobobo?
Zack Porlier first time I seen it i realized anime coukd actually be funny and not just a character land on their with their legs towards the sky
I thought i hallucinated that
I remember, a goofy name for an anime.
Yooo! I remember that. I remember me and my cousin used to laugh at that when I was 8 or 9.
That show was a mind f**k and I loved it lol
God, your videos are so rich on content, so well crafted, you should get a global recognition for your outstanding work.
damn. Kicked right in the heart strings. #StayGold
kaptainkristian the editing style is superb, very fun to watch. keep it up!
Welp, another great video Kapt. See ya in a month!
these videos still make me emotional. kaptainkristian you are doing something special, please do not stop
They NEED!!! to bring back Toonami in the UK (here it was a channel)
I know! I remember it just disappearing one day.
An entire channel? Really? WTF! The US gets the short straw again.
Aye, Toonami just upped and vanished. Replaced by Cartoon Network Too, a collaboration of some sort. The only anime it aired was Pokemon, from what I can remember. That vanished too, after some time. No idea what took its place.
Luca da Silva Pokemon is still running on cartoon network in the states, i guess its because they keep making games
Luca da Silva Cartoon Network +1 replaced Cartoon Network too, btw one piece and bakugan was on CN Too
this is the first video I've ever seen from you and I'm completely blown away. You my friend earned a sub. Amazing video keep it up.
This is basically editing porn
You are definitely one of my favorite you-tubers. It's so rare to see someone just so engulfed in analyzing something that hasn't been analyzed much before.
the "bang" right at the intro was an awesome touch. it was intentional, right?
Theonetruewonderfly Pokemon did take anime to the next level but DBZ was very popular before that and Toonami did exist
In the US, not the west, anime was huge in Europe since the late 70's.
Anime was popular in Italy since the late 70s and early 80s.
Theonetruewonderfly Not really. Anime was starting to get recognized by the western audience as far as Akira and the anime craze specifically didn't start till the early 2000s, which is when DBZ was at its most popular in NA and the Pokemon anime declined massively in popularity.
@@DBZAOTA482 actually it was G force!! The first of the first in the US on tv! For the Generation that cared and couldn't get enough of it as a kid!
Just discovered this channel and now have binged watched every video. This content is great, keep it up.
Great video as usual.
Do you watch much Gundam? A video on that would be awesome though I'm sure you already have your own ideas for your next videos.
a video could be done and just about anything in gundam its criminally ignored by analysts. being so large you rarely see video essays about even one of the series.
I love how personal you make all of your videos. Thanks for the nostalgia on Toonami!
Happy 25 year anniversary!!!
🎉🎉🎉
I always get so excited when I get a new notification for your videos!
Notification Squad!!!
I knew that I will be treated to a masterfully structured and edited visual essay whenever I click your videos.
Keep the Videos Coming Please!!!
I really wanted to watch The Room though.
Awesome video. Love your aesthethic and way of narrating. You are one of the best content creators on youtube for sure.
#ToonamiFaithful
These videos are so incredibly slick and well-articulated. I look forward to them every time there's a new one. Learned a lot about topics I didn't know about too. Keep it up!!
