Forge a wrench and you can turn the plaster blocks to look even better by adjusting the diagonals. (But you've already chiseled is, so that'll make it more difficult!)
First off, your base building and pace of storytelling is amazing. Second, I am not certain how much you want tips or if you want to learn more as your go so feel free to skip this "second" paragraph. If you break leaves before cutting down a tree you have a chance of getting seeds. Unlike Minecraft, you have to manually break the leaves. However, you can forge metal shears which will break them faster as well as in a small 3x3 cube, so more leaves at once. Collecting seeds and planting nearby might make your wood collecting a bit easier as they regrow. Last, just an adorable detail: if you bake bread or pies you can watch the dough rise pixel by pixel as it bakes.
if you bake them right they will give more food saturation and number increase then raw bread. If you burn them they will give less but will last a long time. later on if you want to add modes on there mod store in the sight you can make flint lock guns just like the founding fathers wanted
Okay I THOUGHT I was seeing things when I watched the bread bake, looked like it was bubbling almost! Very cool detail :) I have a pair of shears but I was using it on 1x1 bushes, very good to know it cuts more than 1! Thank you :)
THE PEARS COMEBACK, LOOOOOOOL But man, the exploration of the mechanics (and mechanical stuff) for making mid to late game progress. And the fun you're having with the decorative aspects? Delicious to watch. Keep going because there's more :)
the fireplace looks so good, every time I'm so amazed at what you come up using the chisel. Hopefully when you're "done" with the place, we get to see a tour and a closer look at all the chiseling work you have put in!
If you press "H" while your mouse is hovering over an item in your inventory it will automatically bring up the page for that item which is a very quick way to get to the recipes involving that item.
Your storytelling skills never fail to make me smile - the way you recounted everything at the start was so nice :) Also, the canals are awesome!! Hadn't really thought to do something like that before, but that sure is a cool way to get around, and it looks neat, too - your base in general is really coming along! I agree that the curved look of the support beams add so much.. great episode, enjoyed it a lot ^^
Thanks for watching! Yeah the beams add a really nice touch to the walls :) I usually build canals in Minecraft and Valheim just to get around easier. Walking might be faster but I think it looks awesome lol
personally, one of my favorite things to do with plaster when building and chiseling is to just use the plaster without any beams as an outer layer on top of cobblestone or bricks, only being a layer or two of chisel voxels thick, and then having little cracks showing the stone underneath. gives a good sense of depth i think. and then on the inside having custom chiseled plank edges and such giving the impression of supports and a chase around the base of the wall.
also i recommend going into a creative world to practice using windmills, you can make a whole gearbox with low and high gears for different mechanisms
During a temporal storm hit t to open your chat window and type something in it. :) Also, the music cylinders play warped music during the storms to. Light and dark mudbricks go well with granite bricks. Hmm what kind of pie will you make first? Found a creepy ruin with human skeletons, aged children's toys (one looked like a weird sledgehammer), and... chains and manacles on the walls... There are some good vids on setting up gear systems. Might help you to check one out so it will fit into your build. They can take up a bit of space.
I sent a message during the storm in my new vid, super creepy but I'd expect nothing less lmao! I'll definitely look into gear set ups for my next video :)
i'm the oposite of you. i make machines 100% perfect but for the love of me i CAN'T build pretty houses as much as i try. the look nice, but at the end it's still a vertical rectangle... you don't even know how much i envy your building skills...
Helve hammer is definitely on my mind 🥰 working towards it slowly lol.. and yes I should really reel in on the chiseling.. it's effecting my ability to complete basic survival tasks
You’ve gotta be one of my favorite Vintage Story UA-camrs, keep up the fun videos!! Also if you char bread, it makes it last longer but lest nutritious
Rooftop crops: genius. Beams around leaded windows: genius. Your build is going to be incredible! If you have primitive survival mod installed, there is a block called the particulator (sp?) that will basically make it so your fire looks like it burns all the time. Perfect for the fireplace :) (also I think its time you graduated all your lights to proper lanterns instead of torches lol watching you carry a torch in the rain gives me so much anxiety)
Thanks! Yeah I was placing torches under blocks to work outside, it was getting annoying lol I built a few lanterns but I definitely need to get my helve hammer up and running to produce some more :)
Next world you do you should get the Rivers mod, it's really fun to use the rivers as highways to get all over the world, similar to how you are canalling the lakes together.
Lanterns can go underwater, sometimes you can find underwater caverns and easily see ores along the walls, just don't get lost or out of breathe haha. Great videos, love this game
i don't know if this will help with the fish in the canal but at the points where you go up/down maybe replace the underwater blocks with stairs or chiseled blocks or slabs so it is a smoother more spacious channel. or just dig 1 more block down in these spots. it might work or not but it don't hurt to try.
some things with the automated quern: if you take copper (i think it needs solder as well, can't recall) and make hoppers and chutes, you can make it automatically output the grinding products to storages. You could put a vessel down out of the elements and have the flour automatically put into it. You could also use the same method with the addition of an archimedes screw to move materials you want to grind up into it without having to go up there yourself. If you find some halite you can also use it in the quern to make salt, which can be used to preserve meats and vegetables as well as to make cheese. also, with the lantern you found, another benefit of those is they actually don't go out if you have them in your hand and take a dip in the water, unlike torches. so they're great for exploring flooded caves and the like. you can also add a gold or silver plate to it to bump up its light level by 2. lastly, the clay ovens need to be preheated by putting firewood inside them and lighting that. the residual heat can then be used to bake the bread.
Support beams are used for supporting blocks that would normally go down due to gravity. Now in vanilla settings blocks do have gravity and you have a change of having a cave in so while mining you can put support beams inside the cave so that it doesn't crush you.
Well done with the pulverizer, messing around with it reminded me of dealing with pipes/flow in the Minecraft Tekkit modpack and similar. That was such a headache, but this seems a bit easier to learn?
i love this series so much mr nipples. as someone with depression and struggling a lot, watching your builds and intricate designs fill me with joy im so excited for your next post, all ways puts a fat smile on my face when a vintage story video pops up and its from you. thanks man cheerss!
It's so fun to hear the excitement as you discover more and more and that's just about aesthetic stuff! This series is the best, I'm not at the latest video and I almost don't want to get there haha your channel is amazing!
Forge a wrench and you can turn the plaster blocks to look even better by adjusting the diagonals. (But you've already chiseled is, so that'll make it more difficult!)
Also, flax is half the nutrition of other grains, it's best used for animals while you save the good stuff for yourself!
Oh I'll definitely be making a wrench now.. I can always re-chisel lol

A musket for home defense (against the bears) as God intended
@@TimmyTwoNipples if they have the right to bear arms then so do you!
Wow thats good @@Jimmith829
the support beams are also good to keep from burying yourself in loose gravel and stuff during mining.

The excitement of discovering "OOH THATS SUCH A COOL FEATURE" is such a joy in this game :)
the fireplace looks so good, every time I'm so amazed at what you come up using the chisel. Hopefully when you're "done" with the place, we get to see a tour and a closer look at all the chiseling work you have put in!

Looks like it’s time for pear brandy
Love me some pear brandy, bear pit to distillery arc is on its way..

@22:55 "oh no, should i be outside right now??" *runs to top of hill with a metal shovel in hand*
I was wondering if anyone would comment on that 😂
@TimmyTwoNipples you weren't getting that maneouvre past me!😂
Epic job on figuring out the windmill connections on your own! I had to watch an instructional video to get my head around it.
Took my a while but seeing it all spin and the mechanics power up was definitely worth it :)
I think you'd like the building in 7DTD. It's pretty flow inducing. I spent the last build converting a ruined factory into a castle.
Awesome series, looking forward to the next episode!
Glad you're liking it :) New ep out now!

While u are knapping or smithing u can press "c" to unlock ur mouse to be more precisley. :)
@@Dark__Thoughts yeah, but you have to hold alt and c is permanent.
Is that a game or modpack for minecraft
Different game by the devs of an older minecraft mod! :)
With the automatic Hammer u can automaticly craft ingots and plates.

Support beams are used in mines and stop them from caving in if you have that enabled. Make a great decoration though.
I think keeping the areas as you made them looks cool. A Stone age A-frame, Bronze age Tower and an Iron age Manor.
Yeah I might just keep the tower looking more rustic, and the manor more refined, I like seeing my progress visually in the build :)
Hey, quick tip:you can break and replant the pear trees wood so you can actually plant them near your base or something
I planted two near my base, they're growing.. slowly.. lol but they are growing! :)
Ctrl + N can enable/disable the guides that show on the blocks
For example : wrench + Rightclick = Rotate
Interesting.. I could probably disable that soon, I think I'm getting the hang of it

Honestly, being able to get flax OR hemp in this game would be nice.
just got back into the net and the wait was worth it! amazing stuff man
I wish I had the mind for building. LOL
Yep thats VS in a nutshell. Start building and chiseling and you'll sink hundreds of hours into it
