Just to think...those incredible Kuznetsov NK-12s were designed in the immediate post WWII period! Ready for production in 1947..STILL going strong! Professor Brandt (ex BMW) and his team were promised (and given) early repatriation to complete their work on time!...great stuff!
Very cool for 1950s: the Tu-142 prototype did its maiden flight in 1968 (when the last B-52H came out of the factory) and entered service in 1972. The Tu-95MS is a Tu-142MK derivative, first flight in 1979 and in production until the mid 90s. These aircrafts are about 20 years younger than the last B-52H.

Beautiful, impressive aero plane . Nice take off and landing. Would love to have seen more detail , such as; payload (bomb bay) area and tail gunners section.
Well, not at the end but after WW2 in late 40s and early 50s. With big (forced) support of German gas turbine scientists and specialists. These engines are truly an engineering masterpiece. After almost 70 years still the most powerful turboprops ever built!
You got to admire the Russkys, out in freezing cold, there equipment is tough not fancy is hard built to work nothing else. 1:32 inside cockpit of plane windshield has ice covering top part.

When I was a boy growing up in Scotland I couldn't have dreamed that one day the inside of a plane like this would be open to everyone or that Russia would display its top military planes at airshows as they richly deserve. I certainly couldn't have imagined that one day American astronauts would use Russian rockets to get into space. I hope by the time my children are my age there have been many more steps towards peace. Thanks go to the "big picture" politicians of the 1980s and 1990s who made this happen. Quite a contrast to the petty and short sighted representatives we have today.
We also want to live in peace with others. I also miss my British friends whom I know since my childhood. But some petty and short sighted politicians don't want to live in peace with us. So we have to defend ourselves.
Sounds like the old B-36 on takeoff, wonderful sound. I think I have it, the Tu-142 is the bomber and has the glazed nose, the Tu-95 is the maritime version with the large underslung nose radar, and carries large anti-ship cruise missiles.
I love these planes, reliable, rugged, and dont have to be babied at all. The only thing I wish they would consider changing is the power plants, they might try the engines off of the AN-70 as they and the propellers would provide about 15 to 20 percent more range at high speed, oh and less noise.
I gotta give the Russians credit still using a prop driven bomber. I love the clean lines of her and the counter rotating props give it an awesome sound. But I gotta give it to the buff b-52 in aspect out preforms the bear but these Cold War giants need to be both respected

This is a tremendously capable aircraft, even today. Anyone who thinks it matters what kind if paint is on the aircraft, or how new the technology that sends it to it's target is a laser, or old fashioned ... gravity, It doesn't. You almost certainly cannot even hear this thing it's so high, and who wanders around staring skyward for bombers all the time? Lol. If you get shot with an m14 battle rifle, it won't matter how old it is. Hits you high on the torso, you are going to be shorter.
Morrigan Ravenchild yes, yes indeed, sir/madamé... however, once all the radars are not working, or inert ... air superiority insues, thus insuring success, even if you dropped barrel bombs from giant paper gliders. It won't matter. See what I'm saying? No one in modern war would fly anything not suited for such specific purposes into an area still painted by radar networks/shield. 1st fly in hundreds of 'rq' type dummy cruise missiles, they carry elect package designed to mimic various war birds... ... high above a Poseidon tracks, and pinpoints radar network nodes... sending data to bombs, dropped by yet another aircraft squad, to blind the enemy ... first, foremost. Then, slowly pinpoint *centers of gravity* necessary to do war, or even have stable country. Only then, would you think about sending a conventional force, like marines into the place...when you can give air cover, to the mop-up crews. *i pray to God Almighty, The Divine Master and Ultimate Author of All, to help or force humankind to use energies, resources, minds: To help one another instead of hurting one another. Or warring, or dominating. Get way more from nourishing people's minds and lives, than trying to steal it all* *accountability WILL return to the Good Earth*
Yeah.......But........is it realistic my friend? Also don't forget the paper gliders have to get within effective target release range (i.e. do they actuall know where the target is/).
The TU-95 is actually not the noisiest aircraft ever built, that distinction belongs to the Republic XF-84H Thunderscreech. As you can probably guess by its name, the XF-84H is the loudest aircraft ever built. It was so loud, that during ground run ups it could be heard 25 miles away. The reason it was so loud was due to it's supersonic propeller design, the intent of which was to create a supersonic propeller driver aircraft. Unfortunately, the XF-84H never did break the sound barrier, but even at idle, it's propeller would generate a continuous visible sonic boom. The resulting shock wave was so powerful that, during a ground run up, it knocked over a crew member and caused another to experience a seizure.
The badass toughness of the Russian people is reflected in the appearance and performance of the equipment and machinery that they design and manufacture.
