Hey subfuries! I hope you enjoyed this little look into the comics. Question of the Day: Which fictional world would you live in, and why? Let me know down in the comments below! ~ Tim
One thing that was never resolved however, was Toph's relationship with her mother. One thing that always felt a little icky, was the letter that Toph received from the Earth King … was it a forgery of her mother's words? Or did Toph's mother provide the letter herself to trick her daughter? If Toph and her mother never reconciled, it would also explain why Toph was such a troubled mother herself come Korra.
Pretty sure that was a lie by the 2 men in ba singe se try to capture her which is why they caught when she went to the location provided in the letter
Ok so im assuming what happened was : After the war, toph's mother still wanted her daughter back, her dad did not. He says he doesnt have a family so im assuming her parents seaperated. Her mother lives somewhere else now since the home was her fathers.
I know it's off topic, but one of my favorite parts of Avatar: The Last Airbender - both the show and the comic trilogies that came after - is how the character models subtly age over time. It comes across as pretty darn realistic and you even see a bit of it in the comics. An example of what I mean is: compare the comparative height between Aang and Katara in season one of the show to Aang and Katara from the comic "The Rift". Not only that, but compare Aang's jawline. I know it's of no importance to the narrative, but it's one of those little things that makes the series all the better to me.
Yeah! And after he cuts it, Zuko's hair doesn't stay at a static length and then suddenly become longer next season. As time passes, his hair gets longer. Katara's face and body also mature slightly from the beginning of the show to the end; she's a fourteen year old girl, she's growing quickly, it come with that stage of puberty. Aang and Sokka's jawlines strengthen. I'm pretty sure too that Toph gets a little more muscular as the series goes on, corresponding to the sudden lifestyle chang from luxury and relaxation (apart from a few battles) to a life on the run, without having food all the time. Sokka and Katara, however, already lived a physically strenuous lifestyle back in their village.
Colonel Graff it's not even over technically there's still the comics which are really good and are coming out with more soon I think it's actually even as soon as next month
@@princessthyemis no this series is one of the best because it's planned out and ended when It needed to. Many shows like spongbob, dragon ball, simpson, family guy are all remarkable show but the network or creators milks it soooo much,in a way ruins the earlier and and in some cases CANON and legacy of the show
@@vaskrus1852 Not to be argumentative, but I think it was very important for Sokka's character. He had to make some hard decisions, develop and adjust strategies, and he really learned what it means to be a leader. Evidence of the significance of this experience can be seen in the contrast between Sokka during the invasion during the solar eclipse compared to Sokka during the final battle. On the day of black sun, he was anxious, flustered, insecure, gullible and overly concerned with things that didn't matter. Whereas during the final battle, he was brave, clever, decisive, and highly effective as both a leader and a stumbling block to the air fleet. I know the difference wasn't 100% because of his time at the boiling rock, but I do think it was likely the most significant influence on his character between the two events.
I'm glad they ended the show where they did, it was a perfect ending. And the comics were a perfect median to convey the stories immediately after. They also make me feel pretty bad for Toph, which makes me feel better when I remember how she left LOK. All Hail Mishka! Kawwwwwwww!
Well, Toph didn't really have an "arc". She was the strong resilient girl from introduction to end. She does have emotional moments where she realizes she needs to soften up sometimes, but that didn't really change her character overall.
@@Slender_Man_186 because they didn't know/like each other then lmao just because you become friends with someone doesn't mean you went through a character arc
Thanks for this video, I'm legally blind and just don't do comics (magnifying glasses give me migraines and I strongly prefer audiobooks over ebooks) but I'm really glad to know that this story line was completed and done justice. I loved Toph as a kid and I didn't even have glaucoma back then.
If you look on youtube, some of the comics are still comics but slightly animated. Either with dubs, gradually shown text, and/or small effects added in to make them interesting. Personally I thought it was a great way to "read" them.
I’ll never get over the fact that Lao hired the man who legit kidnapped his daughter and got a whole ring of adult fighters to attack her at once. And then he has the nerve to pretend like he is a delicate father.
@@TheMrPeteChannel Nah. At least he tried to reconciled with her and then accepted her for who she was. Her mother meawhile send kidnappers after her and then blaimed it on her husband
Which fictional world would I go to? I love this question. Most people chose a universe where there's awesome stuff going on like magic, spaceships, magic, morphing weapons that go from sniper rifles to scythes, space magic, titanic monsters, spirit magic, demons and angles, more magic, small furry and excruciatingly adorable creatures, copious amounts of drug use, and so on and so on. However, I would chose whichever fictional world was completely and totally safe from cataclysmic destruction. Minecraft. The sandbox, not the story mode.
I was thinking that... I'm like "Wizard Hitler; Fire Hitler; Space Hitler; anti-mutant Hitler... no." Might go with Skyrim for the scenery, but stay on a nice farm with my cooking skills maxed.
Moomin Valley sounds like a nice place to be Though I would love to be in the Wizarding World, assuming I became a witch upon entering otherwise it'd be pointless (post Vold War Two anyway, don't wanna get caught up with wizard Hitler and his minions)
JinxingHour We had a family restaurant and my whole family will work there so that means I have to go too. We spent more time at that restaurant than our house. I was also a cashier at 12
@Lotte except for primogenature if they own it then it is the family's duty, my grandpa owns a company and I am second in line, sucks but I gotta do my duty
Could the reason Hawky never RETURNED with a letter simply be the same limitation with Carrier Pigeons? It didn't even KNOW where Toph's family were, ergo, if flew around for a few days and when it returned to its "home", the point where it had left, everyone was gone so it went "feral"? The whole "feral" spiel is a bit of a tangent, but the issue is, did they even understand how to USE a Messenger Hawk properly? They aren't like Phones where you only need a number, Messenger Hawks need to be TRAINED. I recall seeing an Aviary in a Fire Nation Outpost with DOZENS of Messenger Hawks, at least in MY recollection; simply put, couldn't Messenger Hawks only be trained to move between TWO points, instead of just going ANYWHERE they're Told? Did all this make sense? As for which Fictional World I'd like to go to... maybe One Piece because of the FREEDOM that could be found, but only under the assurance I'd be able to gain a Foundational understanding of how to FIGHT, because otherwise I'd probably be eternally confined to whatever Island I land on.
I think hawk service is more of a telegraph analogy - the destination is written on the mail itself and hawks only go to retranslation stations This explains how the hawks get intercepted - the routs are mostly the same
It's probably why she wasn't hard on her children Lin and Sue. Because she wanted to give them the freedom to explore of who they are, and not treat them the way Tophs parents treated her. And I'm glad she was able to resolve her differences with her parents.
@@MoesieThe comics are just bad. It's against thier characters traits to reconcile. Toph will never be more than a fragile blind tragedy to Lao Beifong of whatever his dumb first name is & he will never be anything more than a helicopter dad to Toph.
@@TheMrPeteChannel i disagree. I watched the comics. From the comicstorian The dad started to accept toph again for who she was Top started finding her love and also succeeded in het metal.bending school However it shocks me that toph isnt really part of the avatar crew anymore
Toph was one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed how they continued the story with the comics. And I’d actually like to see more of an older Toph in Republic City just because, who wouldn’t
Huh. That ending surprised me. I would have never seen him as the type of person who would’ve ever accepted her. Throughout the entirety of her life, he was stuck on the Denial aspect of loss. Toph was born blind, she would never have a normal life, it shamed him enough to hide her from the rest of the world. He might’ve gone on to bargaining in where, perhaps one day she might go into a fine respected noblewoman that’s bring honor, so he tried to craft into his ideals of a daughter he’d feel prideful in, without bothering to see her as who she was as a own person with her own desires. Either way, I’m happy to hear somewhere he eventually came to accept her. I wonder if her mother ever does.
It's a bad story because it totally goes against Lao's charecter. Toph straight up destroyed those Earth Rumble fighters. That Mc Dojo trainer even said she was the best bender he ever seen & Lao still didn't change. People like that never change.
Toph not going into a life changing field trip with Zuko was a huge missed oportunity for developing her, since family issues is something they could really bond over. Imagine a episode arc where Zuko, who now came into terms with who he truly is and how he feels about his family, specially uncle Iroh (who had a moment with Toph before) helps her with some issue that would happen involving her family, and his experience would really help her come to terms with what happened and move on...That would be amazing.
I am saddened Toph never reconciled with her mother but I am glad she got along with her father. Even if they don't see eye to eye they show much more respect for each others lifestyles.
@@effooo2000Isn't there a line in TLoK where Lin Biefong told her sister Suyin that "your kids will be safe at our grandparents home". Meaning that Toph got the Beifong estate? It's been a while since I saw that horrible season 4.
So that question is a common fun one, but I always respond with: Am I going as I am now, or as a being of that world? If I went to the avatar universe, I wouldn't be a bender. And while the world is super cool, a lot of the coolest aspects ARE bending. My answer then, is either to the future of Dragons of Pern, or, to the Pokemon universe.
I wish they gave a clear answer. In LoK, Toph tells her youngest daughter she’s going to live with her grandparents - plural. So it’s implied Toph made up with Mommy Beifong as well, Mom and Dad Beifong got back together, and the two of them have a relationship with Toph’s kids. However, it’s possible that Daddy Beifong remarried and the new stepmom is who Toph’s girls consider their grandmother.
“Every single moment felt needed”. Need I remind you of the great divide? Although to be fair 1 flub up works cause it shows the writers, and by extension the characters, are not perfect.
I am so glad Toph's father came to understand her. 🙂 My answer to your question at the end: It's a toss up between either the Pokémon world or the world of Nirn from the Elder Scrolls Series. Either place would be awesome!
Finding out Toph made up with her dad made me both relieved and envious. Relieved because, obviously, everyone deserves a happy ending and she's a very likable character. Envious, because, out of all the members of Team Avatar I related to her the most; I had a big argument with family members for the exact reason she had. Being of a 'higher class', not doing this and that, always follow a 'protocol' of how things simply are and how they're meant to be (my family is very old style...), except unlike Toph, despite having tried to approach to them after being separated for a few years, my parents would have none of it, so I said ok, fuck you too and never went back.
I’d say the naruto universe, because then I am not limited to just one element as long as I try hard and don’t have to bear the responsibility of being the avatar. If I had to chose an element from avatar, I would chose water because it works as a solid and a liquid and blood bending
I prefer Avatar's world. It is more consistent in how things are and anyone with the right training and power can finish off the major threat other than Vaatu. In Naruto, it is more focused on, well, Naruto and the others like him. They are the only hope for the world every time. Also, it shows that in Naruto, the people can continuously get stronger, the Bijuu are just a higher starting point. Also, in Naruto, you need to learn techniques, and even then you still need control over a base element that your tribe or village is to use the other elements. For instance, Gaara and his wind release still needing the sand to generate and maintain.
Daniel Coffman couldn't live in the Naruto verse, where shinbi life expectancy only recently went above 30 years lmao. I'd have died in a conflict or become a legend and started teaching annoying preteens already. Middle schoolers and war sucks.
I would go to remnant in rwby. Im sure barely anyone will get that reference but for those who do, I would have scout rifle gauntlets, my semblance would be the control of the gravity of objects i touch, and I would be on a team with all of my friends.
I would have a naginata that transforms into a rifle. My semblance would be to observe a scenario, and see the weakest point in it. Example, see a tank and know where to attack that will cause it’s destruction or incapacitation the fastest. Example, see an group of soldiers and know where to hit to neutralise the highest number of them, or who to take out to render the others confused and leaderless. Etc.
Even though I was just watching someone *discuss* this story, I still found myself shedding tears throughout. The Avatar writers sure created a lot of powerful character moments.
This is pretty personal for me as I have had my own personal split with stubborn parents however not as a teen. I do think though that not resolving this and even how it does get resolved is really appropriate. Sometimes people who are bad for you, who refuse to respect your abilities or autonomy, you need or keep at arm's length, even if they are your parents and not physically abusive. I think it's interesting that he split from his wife, reinforcing that aspect of Toph's own need to distance herself in order to truly discover her own abilities and develop socially. And I think it's interesting that the only way she earns her father's respect is not through discussion but by an event that demonstrated her independence and identity. It affirms that she could not talk her way out, there was no logic to convey and some people you hit interpersonal walls with until hopefully there is that break through event for that person. She could not force it, he had to learn the lesson on his own. And I think Toph's arc is a great lesson in drawing boundaries to protect yourself and provide the necessary space for growth to occur. Some people never will, Toph's mom, but some people can change, her dad.
I don't think the important part for Toph's character was learning the details of the reconciliation. Toph grew and resolved just by deciding to send a letter to her mother at all -- and asking Katara for help to do it.
I’d really love to live in the Avatar world. Toph, Ming Hua, among other characters, are perfect examples of how people with disabilities are just as powerful as non-disabled people, hell, Toph is more powerful than any normal person. I have Cerebral Palsy and ATLA was one of my favorite shows when I was little, I loved it for it’s compelling and dramatic stories that touched my emotions even at 7 years old, but I was so mesmerized with Toph when she was first introduced. Sure, we didn’t have the same disability, but I could still relate to her because I had a family who loved me dearly, but often saw me as fragile. I often wonder of what I could do if I was the Avatar and had all the elements at my disposal, I’d keep the peace, but show the bad guys what I’m capable of.
Hey I never really commented on stuff like this before but I just took the courage to say that I love this channel and I love the positivity that you bring to every episode that you post and it makes me feel a little less alone that I am fan of Avatar and how to train your dragon I love to learn more about it even though it's a fictional thing I'm glad there's somebody that's out there that created something like this for nerds like me thank you and please Lord Mishka make him make videos forever. I would go to the Avatar: TLA world shortly after the Fire Lord is taken out of power. I would go then not because of the Fire Lord but because metal bending will have been discovered for long enough that I can learn it. I would be an earth bender by the way.
David Kennedy hmmm, I can never pick an element. a seismic sensing, metal bending, lava bending earth bender, or a combustion bending, lighting shooting firedbender? Or water. Water is OP
I really like all the awesome things you can do with fire bending and water is pretty OP but I have always had some sort of connection to earth bending that I never had with the others. They're all pretty awesome though.
I would probably be a water bender or perhaps a fire bender. But you can't really choose what bender you'll or if you even would be a bender if you would be in the world of ATLA
Every time I remember or see the scene of Katara confronting the killer of her mother, or just that clip at the end of the Runaway episode where she asks Katara to help write her a letter to her parents I'm just blown away all over again in just how impactful and beautiful the character writings and arcs were in this show In this kids show that I grew up with. I love series that delve into deeper themes and have character and world building that takes an identity of its own, and is something you as the reader can actually understand and stipulate possibilities for said world's and characters They become actualised and that's super important to me Avatar has to be one of the first series I can remember doing this, and it's a feat of writing that you often fail to see in stories that are supposed to be impactful and mature Well written and self-actualised characters isn't exclusive to certain forms of literature that are philosophical or require deep insight It's just exclusive to good character stories. No matter what age group it's directed to. This is talking just about character stories though. Not genres or works who's strengths lie in other formats entirely. But it's hard to find many stories in which characters don't make the world.
I would live in the Cosmere, a fictional universe created by the greatest author of this age, Brandon Sanderson. It has multiple worlds, each has their own intricate magic system. Personally I would go to Roshar, a world where by bonding a spren, think nature spirit, I could gain control of 2 forces of the Universes, like gravity. I'd highly recommend these book btws. Just look him up. Best books to start are Elantris, or Mistborn.
I'm not entirely sure of what your trying to say but so far the only way light has been bent is through the intense power of gravity from planets, sorry not sure if this helps as i don't know exactly what you mean by bending light and splitting fire
I think you just need to clear up the definition, as light is a byproduct of the fire of all fire benders in the series. Producing light without a visible flame: almost certainly yes But that might require a high level of control and its not feasible for battle(as just putting out more fire would achieve the same effect in most cases, like even beginner fire benders seem to be able). See Azulas blue fire or Irohs tea heating for reference.
fgregerfeaxcwfeffece Ok, so it is possible...interesting. I think it's pretty helpful in battle because you could make people blind or make them unable to fight without hurting them. Thank you for the answer and I'll search for more :)
Daniel 83012468013579 There's a thing called the triangle of fire: You need oxygen, fuel and light. What if a Firebender is so strong that he could take out the light of the fire (split the fire) and bend it ?
Since you seem to be still interested, long explanation mode(spoiler: a long "no", but a short "yes, but"-ish at the end): That's what i meant, the reducing of a visible flame would not increase the effect, quite the opposite. Depending on if you need fuel and oxygen for fire bending, I don't recall if that was ever made clear. But anyways the limitation here seems to be the skill gap, as one thing was stated rather clearly: Pretty much any idiot can produce lots of big flames. But those small and hot ones seem to be a lot harder. Unfortunately the latter ones would be the ones in your alternative flashbang. But a big flame can also output so much light that it will blind people. Because every surface reflects to some degree and none of the light just "disappears". Also human eyes catch light in a rather wide angle, not just the small focus area. So "bigger" just stays the easier route for most military purposes. But if we consider Iroh, firebending isn't even exactly limited to fire, but to heat. Fire is just easy to produce with heat. So technically in an oxygen deprived area(firebenders still need to breath, right? So a big "not viable point" again here ;) ) you could heat everything until it glows very bright without the chemical reaction of fire. Even impurities in an almost vacuum. Think of light bulbs. But this still implies looooooooots of heat, so most things getting close will burn up if there is oxygen. But generally: the hotter, the brighter the glow. again light bulbs. But their wires need to be kept in a vacuum for that reason. Also firebenders don't seem to be immune from heat damage so the excess heat in a smaller area might pose an additional problem. Air might be a good insulator but that only protects for a certain amount of time that is reduced by increased energy(heat) per volume. That's why trained professionals can put a torch in their mouth but not glowing metal. Glowing metal is way hotter and the lack of oxygen won't immediatly cool it down. Fire has a pretty low energy density in the air where the reaction occurs compared to a glowing chunk of metal(or the wires in the light bulb example). I am also currently unaware if anyone in the series was ever able to produce this much heat without tools. Plus the lightning benders in the power plants where all wearing protective gear. Implying that the prolonged use of those high energy density outputs might actually lead to them burning themself. So thermodynamics seem to mostly apply. to sum this up: Lightbending on that level would likely to be worlds above lightning bending in required skill and stamina usage. +damage to the user, all due too much higher energy density Maybe someone can make it work, maybe with a fictional tool for focusing(the light) and insulation. Bending powered tools have been a thing anyways, so why not. But without tools i don't see this work.

Hawky was probable intercepted because if you remember they were still being tracked by Combustion Man who has an eagle who intercepts any letters sent about the Avatar's location. I don't think Toph's parents ever got the letters. I really hope Hawky was okay.
The whole proper intro of Toph going off to fight in the avatar series version of the wwe sorta reminds me of basically every superhero with powers and still have family thing like with Peter Parker being Spider Man and his aunt May
I would've loved also, a story on Toph and her Mother (Poppy) Reconciling, it would be Awesome. I would definitely would love if you could do a video about it 'Tim', on how that could've gone and proceeded with.
being honest I'd probably live in either the RWBY world cause I could learn to fight grimm and get a weapon and semblance of my own, or I'd live in the avatar world cause then I could be a bender
Peyton Suell the RWBY world is on the brink of war with a godess of death and the side that our main characters are on is run by a guy who insist to hide the important things from everyone. I like RWBY but I wouldn't live on Remnent.
Blake chandler okay but that still doesn't change the fact that I'd still like to live in their world (this is just my opinion after all and he did say any fictional world)
I would love them to create a series of the first avatar trying to unite everyone and trying to bring peace. I know they have showed how the first avatar got his powers and how he died but it would be cool to see the in-between (it would also be cool as a life action film).
There is a phrase in my mother tongue which expresses what you point out at the beginning of this video: "No tiene desperdicio". This would translate to something like "it has no waste". The point of the phrase is to declare that a thing, in this case the series, has nothing that could be considered a waste, something that done without would not affect the whole work. Something that is not useful, something that serves no purpose. No waste, everything serves a purpose. I'm not sure if there is a phrase serving the same purpose in English, but I thought about bringing this up because this is how my friend described the show to me when he offered me a pen drive with all 3 seasons, and it was that phrase alone that hooked me. The intro did the rest. Yeah, my friend saying "no tiene desperdicio" got me to take the pendrive and play episode 1, the intro/prologue was fully responsible of making me decide "I will watch this through to the end no matter what". And I binge watched the first 16 episodes in one night. Getting only 2 hr sleep before having to get up to go to work the following day. No regrets.
I HOPE THEY NEVER MAKE ANOTHER EARTH BENDER MORE GREATER THAN TOPH. I really also hope and wish that they had / have had all the real OG's in the spirit world as they did with Iroh. So they could live on forever
How do you think about stories inspired by Christanly compare with stories inspired by Asian religions? I normally like the Christian inspired ones more like the Silmarillion or Narnia where evil is truly defeated and punished and where the creator of existence takes care of everything from then on and everyone who follows the creator lives happily ever after but that's my opinion.
Thor's Hammer I think the latter is a tad more realistic and grounded in ideas of true moralities and the events of life itself while the former tends to paint swatches of black and white onto everything. If you know what I mean
I would go to the world of Tamriel. I know so much about it and could be useful there. Not only that, I love the characters and the world. From the tallest point of the Highrock mountains to the lowest pool in blackmarsh I love it
4:56 Aang: "That must've been hard for you, *seeing* your dad after all this time." Toph: Ouch, you got me! It burns harder than the Sozin's comet on 0AG!

He was talking about the arcs ppl had w/ him sokka didnt really have an arc on his field trip

I love Toph but I always felt the show ended when she was mid-arc. Not a day goes by where I don't morn the lack of book 4
Well, Toph didn't really have an "arc". She was the strong resilient girl from introduction to end. She does have emotional moments where she realizes she needs to soften up sometimes, but that didn't really change her character overall.

He's the worst father after Ozai & possibly Circus Kid's Dad from Appa's Lost Days. Toph reconnecting with him dosen't fit both of thier characters.

I’d go to the world of ATLA post-Ozai, as it seems like a nice place when it isn’t at war with bending-hitler.
Moomin Valley sounds like a nice place to be
Though I would love to be in the Wizarding World, assuming I became a witch upon entering otherwise it'd be pointless (post Vold War Two anyway, don't wanna get caught up with wizard Hitler and his minions)

This explains how the hawks get intercepted - the routs are mostly the same

It's probably why she wasn't hard on her children Lin and Sue. Because she wanted to give them the freedom to explore of who they are, and not treat them the way Tophs parents treated her. And I'm glad she was able to resolve her differences with her parents.

What about Toph'a mom, though? Did she eventually come to terms as well and accept her?
I wish they gave a clear answer. In LoK, Toph tells her youngest daughter she’s going to live with her grandparents - plural. So it’s implied Toph made up with Mommy Beifong as well, Mom and Dad Beifong got back together, and the two of them have a relationship with Toph’s kids. However, it’s possible that Daddy Beifong remarried and the new stepmom is who Toph’s girls consider their grandmother.

The Happy Boy "I'm sure barely anyone will get that reference". RWBY is actuslly wuite poular, lmao.

Those are cool choices. I know you can't choose, this whole question was a hypothetical.
Every time I remember or see the scene of Katara confronting the killer of her mother, or just that clip at the end of the Runaway episode where she asks Katara to help write her a letter to her parents
I'm just blown away all over again in just how impactful and beautiful the character writings and arcs were in this show
In this kids show that I grew up with.
I love series that delve into deeper themes and have character and world building that takes an identity of its own, and is something you as the reader can actually understand and stipulate possibilities for said world's and characters
They become actualised and that's super important to me
Avatar has to be one of the first series I can remember doing this, and it's a feat of writing that you often fail to see in stories that are supposed to be impactful and mature
Well written and self-actualised characters isn't exclusive to certain forms of literature that are philosophical or require deep insight
It's just exclusive to good character stories. No matter what age group it's directed to.
This is talking just about character stories though. Not genres or works who's strengths lie in other formats entirely. But it's hard to find many stories in which characters don't make the world.

I have an interesting question that I think a lot about: Can Firebenders bend light by splitting fire ?
(Sry for the bad writing, I'm German :D)
I'm not entirely sure of what your trying to say but so far the only way light has been bent is through the intense power of gravity from planets, sorry not sure if this helps as i don't know exactly what you mean by bending light and splitting fire
I think you just need to clear up the definition, as light is a byproduct of the fire of all fire benders in the series.
Producing light without a visible flame: almost certainly yes
But that might require a high level of control and its not feasible for battle(as just putting out more fire would achieve the same effect in most cases, like even beginner fire benders seem to be able).
Since you seem to be still interested, long explanation mode(spoiler: a long "no", but a short "yes, but"-ish at the end):
That's what i meant, the reducing of a visible flame would not increase the effect, quite the opposite.
Depending on if you need fuel and oxygen for fire bending, I don't recall if that was ever made clear.
But anyways the limitation here seems to be the skill gap, as one thing was stated rather clearly:
Pretty much any idiot can produce lots of big flames.
So thermodynamics seem to mostly apply.
to sum this up:
Lightbending on that level would likely to be worlds above lightning bending in required skill and stamina usage. +damage to the user, all due too much higher energy density
Maybe someone can make it work, maybe with a fictional tool for focusing(the light) and insulation.
Bending powered tools have been a thing anyways, so why not. But without tools i don't see this work.

No regrets.
Don't forget how do spririts reproduce I came from your lion turtles , spririts, and creation video
WOAH!!! YOUR SO CLOSE TO 100K!!!!!!!!

Wait this sounds a lot like Lucy Heartfilia from Fairy Tail............

Am I the only one that's weirded out by her eyes being green in the comic?
There’s a few worlds I’d like to visit! The Pokémon world, the Star Wars world, the avatar world, the Mario world, and the Spyro world!!!
My fictional universe would be Star Wars!
As long as I am strong in the force lol

I would go to the world of Tamriel. I know so much about it and could be useful there. Not only that, I love the characters and the world. From the tallest point of the Highrock mountains to the lowest pool in blackmarsh I love it
