Hi Cat, I want to thank you for continuing to be a presence on You Tube. I was revisiting your videos from years ago and was reminded of what a tremendous influence your creativity has been to me since I started mixed media. I veered off my initial focus in recent years and your videos reminded me of my original passion to combine paper and fabric. With much gratitude and sincerity, thank you for all that you do to continue to inspire so many of us who have followed you for literally years!! Wishing you and Don many blessings on your new chapter!
Anne.. what a most lovely compliment…. I so appreciate your thoughts about my influence, thank you so very much. I hope you understand how much it meant to me. Thank you from my heart ♥️
Buon Giorno, I always look forward to your videos.....The surprise in this video is that you are moving! wow. as artists we do not travel lightly...It would be an interesting video for the artist who IS packing up ...food for thought! I will be doing the same... I must resurrect my tea pieces because at this time they give me a peace...so THANK YOU ABRAZOS for sharing the importance of this not so simple yet satisfying use of out creative time. finger yoga... many thanks. Hope your videos will continue once you are settled in your new place.. Abrazos grandes, Lucia
Finger Yoga! I love that! No.. we do not travel lightly!! 😉 I have been packing, sorting and doing without things for a while now!! But things will be good once we get moved and settled and yes, we plan on continuing our channel.. un abrazo back to you! 🤗😘♥️
Howdy Cat, welcome back 'home' again. I had no idea that you and Don were relocating back to Colorado! How exciting, and back to some of those chilly, but beautiful winters! What inspired this big move? I guess I always thought you had family down in FL. where you now live. Thank you for such an amazing video today! I love the darks, lights and the lace under and over some of those delicious stained pieces. Your correct, slow stitching is such a de stressor. Your a creative jewel! Thanks Cat.
Hi dear friend! We are moving to be closer to family and dear friends. Yes it will be cold and I will have to wear clothes again.. but that’s just part of the deal! I am so glad you enjoyed the video, dear Lynn, I really needed a de stressor in my life and hoped other felt the same way.. thank you my sweet friend.. 😘♥️
Cat, this has taken me a couple of days to watch. It’s like I have to drink it all in. I remember you dying the material and how satisfying it was. Now watching you manipulate and stitch each piece is so wonderful. I totally get it when you talk about the feelings that the sewing brings into the piece. You can’t fake that. It won’t let you. I think that’s why so many quilts are still around. They are so worn and loved up. So many hours of emotional went into each one. Thank you for sharing this video with us. All your work is inspiring. I know that wherever you land the community will be blessed for having you.
Well.. thank you so dearly for your most fine comment.. yes we weave so many emotions into our work, whether it is functional or not.. thank you for watching.. we so appreciate it! 😘
J’adore votre travail,c’est un cadeau à chaque vidéo .Inspirant et ça me ressemble beaucoup. C’est difficile écrire en anglais mais le comprend parfaitement.Bonne continuité. Montréal Canada.
You DO give back soooo much, Cat and Don. Inspiration, information, techniques, up lifting the quality of mixed media and journaling, creating a safe community for artists and most of all your heart !! ♥️ And you’re full of surprises: like a facilitator for Julia Cameron's 12 week class: wow ! When I saw you consistently journaling, but then covering it over, I had a thought, I wonder if this is an influence from Julia's Morning Pages?... But you stunned me. Love you to pieces! You’re both dear friends! One more point: Cat, YOU opened my trapped emotions and helped me pour them into my art. (That was not an easy task for this ancient Yankee.) But you did it. Thank you ! I remember making a comment here, before you had the FB group. That I was going to try to be more vulnerable. I did. It hurts sometimes. But it’s been worth it. 😘🌱 Hope the contractors give you two quality work. 💕🌱
Oh Janice … I love you to pieces too!! Your questions were wonderful, so astute! I didn’t even finish them all! I promise to save them for future videos. Cameron was instrumental in getting me back to the studio and creating art.. but what was lovely about it was that we brought others with us… thank you dear one for your magical support, love and kindness. To say we appreciate it is so much less than what we feel in our hearts. ♥️ thank you so very much.. from Don and me! 🌱♥️🌸🙏🏻🌿🥰♥️
@@CaterinaGiglio Oh my, you make me blush. ☺️😔 Your words are too kind. Now, you make me wonder what removed you from creating…another question for a stitch-a-thon 🤩 ! Wasn’t it grand that you and your friend became teachers for Cameron’s work? I didn’t even know people did that. I must admit that life happened, and I put her book away and my creative practice. But I’m back on track with both. I might even write my morning pages (which sometimes does not get done) on art paper, using it as a starting point to create on top. Fun! Even though you've spoken in the past about your grandmother that sent you to art classes, I’m sure everyone would love to hear more of your memories of her and her influence (I would have loved some encouragement back then…my first experience with a crayon was tragic.) lol One more point, when dear Don gave you that tender answer (compliment) about your character and how it helped him, I had to stop the video bc liquid was coming from my eyes…I think they are called tears of admiration. 💦 Such a heartfelt moment that we all got to share as a community of sensitive souls. Thank you, Don, for sharing !! Well, I must ask…what are you preparing for your next video? Maybe Momigami…and then how to use the end product…like maybe collage and stitch? Sounds good to me. (Hint, hint). 😉 Time to go out to eat a late lunch at Jason's deli…love their salad bar. And they have gluten free bread and some organic items…yummy! Lol 😘💕 Spring is coming…🌱 Take care.

I’m so glad I found you! I was literally just doing this today - slow stitching some ticking fabric onto tea dyed muslin. I learned about the glue stick and spray just in this video. Cannot wait to check out the rest of your videos and Facebook group.
Hi Cat, I've been watching your videos and love your art. I recently made avocado dye and I put the dye water in mason jars. Should the water be refrigerated? I have the jars on a shelf in my craft room. Thank you!
Hello Cat and Don.....great to see you both today. Always live the videos and the question and answer sessions. Have a wonderful Valentines Day. I agree with you about Frida Kahlo and her art through pain. Are you familiar with Maud Lewis? Her story and the art she created is also very inspirational. I just bought the book called "The Illuminated Life of Maud Lewis"....check it out.😘❤
Lucia.. we will probably look for a large townhouse.. Don is finished with mowing the yard and we can get as much space as we have with this house.. I just need a good size studio😉
Hi Cat - I love your channel-so diverse, just like I am with my art practice 😊. I saw in another of your videos where you said you can’t do just one medium or one kind of art - same here! I get bored, or lose interest and have to move on to something else. I LOVE your tea dyed pieces! I currently have a pan full of bundles marinating in tea and really can’t wait for them to finish. I’m in the PNW and it’s our rainy season, so it may take longer than usual. But after 1 week, I’m totally using my oven 😉 for me to wait much longer than that is really expecting a lot out of this impatient woman. Anyway - to my point….I would LOVE l-o-v-e to see you create some of the darling little #stitchpots #fabricbowls, (@kristenpeterson and @rachaelsingleton) that are all the rage right now. Check it out on Instagram. Not much on YT - yet. Are you game? Your work is so gorgeous, I think you could provide so much inspiration! Hugs and xo from the rainy state 🌧️
Hi Sue! I love mixing media and so glad you are tea dying.. If I lived in a rainy climate, I would use my hair dryer after a few days.. here in Colorado it’s so dry they would dry in a couple of days!! I have seen the stitch pots.. my friend makes them.. really have no interest.. but I adore slow stitching! Thank you for watching! ♥️😘
@@CaterinaGiglio what a timely response! Thank you, Cat! I totally get that you have no interest - I’m the same way, I can’t get into something that doesn’t appeal to me, but I think yours would be so cool if you were inclined. Thank you for your honest transparency 😘. Hugs
