Two things
1. The only scenario in which you do not convert a gem to T4 is a Level 10 Damage gem that is greater than about 25% of your damage, the majority of gems are not this high, additionally with hyper awaken + T skill this will dilute dropping many more skills below that 25%. Very grief to not convert.
2. If someone was to follow your advice on 5:1 solars, they would be buying them now for BC for around ~30-35g depending on price and then converting 5:1, they are locking in new Orehas at 150g which is extremely expensive. With rampant rmt maybe at the very start it would be worth this much? but honestly it just doesn't make sense to lock in such an expensive price rn and instead to just craft/buy them as you need them as we will be extremely shard gated
1. I'm ready for the math behind this abritary 25% number you came up with or was it parroted off a streamer? I'm not saying it's wrong, but show me the math behind this logic because you are claiming its "very grief". Is it?
2. I don't think you paid attention to the video at all my good sir. I said you should buy if you have an alt lower than 1620 and I explain everything in the video. Here: 8:04
@@NoEditAndy Ah I see the point you were trying to make about oreha and misunderstood, you are saying that the T3 components of T4 oreha could become expensive driving the price up so that you should still try to get some now on lower alts that they will still be needed, then yea that is alright advice. Keep in mind though with oreha being craftable on all likeskills and the demand for prime going down they should drop significantly, but still good advice since you are buying @ 30-35 and its at 60+ in most regions.
It is a bit disrespectful to call the guy that made the docs you are referencing a parrot but here is the most simple way I can explain it.
Let's say you do 100 dps and a skill is 25% of your dps.
On T3 gem you do 25*1.4 = 35, so you gain 15 dps.
On T4 gem you do 25*1.36 = 34, .8% global, 14.8 dps.
(Keep in mind most damage distributions are with gems on, that can further reduce the contribution.)
As you go up in damage contribution = T3 better, as you go down = T4 better.
Again T skill and hyper awakening, and new poison rune should dilute your damage even more, and a lot of classes don't even have a single skill above 25%. Of course there are also a good amount of classes that won't want to convert. The exact number is not 25% but I just say 25% since it is easy to remember.
Random Example BT Zerker:
Currently ~85% of your damage is covered by 6 gems, not a single above 25%, assuming you have 10 DMG after conversion you lose 4% on 85% and gain 4.8% BASE AP
It will really depend on class and how much more damage gets diluted but majority of gems should be converted, a lot of scenarios where you are losing ~1-2%+ dmg entirely for free.
Raw math example:
(140 / 136 - 1) * 100 * 0.257 = 0.7558
(1.068 / 1.06 - 1) * 100 = 0.7547
(140 / 136 - 1) * 100 * 0.254 = 0.747
(1.088 / 1.08 - 1) * 100 = 0.7407
25.7% share cut-off if all other gems are T4 lv 7
25.4% share cut-off if all other gems are T4 lv 8
You could say 26% to be safe, again I just say 25% since it is easy.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk
@@civo-f9l Sorry if it came off across as disrespectful - it wasn't meant to be. I just didn't know where this 25 number came from + I didn't know who you were at first (oops). Thanks for your contributions to the t4 doc and for the math behind it! Based on reading this, I still don't see it as very grief to not convert your gems. Your berserker argument is sound though, since yes the damage share for them is quite unique to other classes. I'll pin this comment so others know that it is safe to convert level 10 damage gems below the 25% cutoff! Thanks for your ted talk.
are white tier fish needed in the t4 oreha mats? thinking abbout stocking up on them.
@@NoEditAndy you just made yourself look like a complete clown, while also clearly showing you have not done any of the prior research needed to even make this video. No point shotgunning vids just filled with garbage content that is actually incorrect while self-admitting to being a bozo and then calling out the person who MADE the sheet you are making after he corrects you. Most english speaking Koreans have made this dps distribution cut-off figure known in their own videos.
Just about bloodstones, the T4 stuff isn't in the shop until you research next guild shop level, which requires guild level 25.

noooo mr. jlee9360 sir do those lifeskills :D
Another sick video. Any advice for someone lacking in gems? I only play one character and I'm 1630 35 set and like 80% done with transc
Thanks! What’s your current gem setup? Playing one character is perfectly fine seems like you are almost there for tier 4!
@@NoEditAndy I have 1 level 10 dmg and 1 level 9 dmg. The rest and level 7-8 events
@@justin8588 that sounds good to me honestly! I think you need to focus more on 40 set and transcendence first before gems
Your advice about not converting T3 level DMG gems is a bit inaccurate. I was watching Saintone's stream and he said that if your skill does 30% or more damage then you keep that T3 lvl 10 DMG gem, and if it does less than 30% damage than that then you convert it to T4 lvl 8 DMG gem. The previous cutoff number was 24% but I guess people underestimated the AP bonus because it is base AP as opposed to additional AP like from Cursed Doll etc.
The general guideline for T3/T4 gems is this:
1. Any T3 lvl 9 CD/DMG gem has to be converted to T4 lvl 7 CD/DGM gem for both supports and dps. No exceptions.
2. Any T3 lvl 10 CD gem has to be converted to T4 lvl 8 CD gem for both supports and dps. No exceptions.
3. For dps, you should keep your T3 lvl 10 DMG gem for as long as the corresponding skill does 30% or more damage.
25.7% share cut-off if all other gems are T4 lv 7
25.4% share cut-off if all other gems are T4 lv 8

I just started playing a while ago currently 1560 should I keep honing or wait for T4 events?
Great question. At your item level, there are books and cheap honing materials that will help you push to at least 1600. From 1600-1620 is the hard part and I would just suggest to take it slow as Tier 4 is NOT going anywhere and there is so much to enjoy in Lost Ark before that!
@@NoEditAndy awesome thanks 🙏
2mins in and you're wrong about level 10 dmg gems. Do some research it's class dependent
If you are talking about damage share, I still would not convert.
@@NoEditAndy it hink he means transform classes, i didnt see anything wrong with what u said.
@@ekkobellick939 transform classes defnitely don't convert.
@bigzzz2611 transformation classes will still need to get cdr gems for the rest of their skills now. No more 2 gem andys
@@RagersCorner where did you see that information ?
